Asked for (simple) bell-peppers [that they already have] in my omelet after denying the mushrooms and other toppings. Never got my peppers or an explanation as to why I couldnt get bell-peppers. Nothing had seasoning. I had to wave down the waiter because he never came to us one time after the hostess brought out our food. All I needed was salt and pepper...

During my recent visit, I tried the squash curry while my boyfriend opted for the steak and I recomend both! The sauces and food blended together nicely. The flavors aren t overly bold, instead offering a more delicate flavor that made the meal enjoyable. The presentation was nice, with each dish artfully plated. On the other hand, my matcha latte had an unexpected salty flavor perhaps from the cashew milk while the blue matcha latte leaned a bit too sweet, with an artificial sweetener that couldn t be removed. Still, there were many interesting options if you re up for something unique. The real standout of the experience was the restaurant s ambiance. The space was absolutely gorgeous, with an artistic, cozy vibe that felt like being in an industrial loft home. Every detail was thoughtfully designed- from the tetris plant wall and the bar counter embedded with candles to the modern abstract lighting fixtures. It s a perfect spot for both casual dining and a special night out. However, we did notice an issue with the bill. We were overcharged our total came to over $100, and we suspect it may have been from adding the chicken to the dish. I ve heard other people being overcharged for simple ingredient swaps. This is definitely something to watch out for if you visit.

Worst dinner experience ever. I don t normally write bad reviews ever especially since I ve been coming to the well for over a year consistently downtown and beecave. I feel embarrassed for having to do so. I made a reservation and wore a suit. For a special occasion for something that happened career wise. I got weird looks for wearing that. I got shoved in the corner in an uncomfortable table with no chair and had to sit next to a man pounding the table and beating his chest with his wife looking at me. While I was reading a book. And sneezing and coughing nearly in front of my face as he was leaning to me for some reason and pulling something out of near his groin area in front of me. The sever barely said anything to me and was not happy to be at my table because I was the only one there at the table. While he was nicer to groups instead. Plus some other waiters were not friendly when was thanking them and didn t bother them. On top of that for some reason I got free dessert last time which I didn t ask but tipped more than 25% for the occasion and I was the last to receive food inside and I didn t complain as it took longer than usual. I was very patient and kept being polite. I spent way too much money at this point. All the waiters who brought food to me seemed not happy coming to my table and seemed to have any attitude but were happy and smiling to everyone else in groups. Overall If you are not by yourself and book for yourself and other people you will get treated better. I just left and thanked the host twice but the food didn t seem to sit well or taste as good as last time. I won t go back or waste money and be quiet and patient anymore. Since this is one of the few places I can eat out for health reasons. Don t waste your time and money especially if you are going to spend close to $100 or more. I apologize if this seems harsh. I used to work in the service industry so I understand how difficult it can be. Rather not come back ever again. Thank you

Don t bother emailing them feedback - they don t check their emails so they won t respond. I surprised by how awful this restaurant was, especially along a strip of neighboring restaurants that also offer celiac safe, gluten free options. I hoped The Well would make a big statement like Look what gluten-free can be! but instead, we left with, Well, that is the typical gluten-free meh experience. As a high-end gluten-free and health-based restaurant, I fully expect fresh and tasty options, especially since gluten-free choices are limited, costly, and typically subpar. Sadly, the quality of our meal made those options feel even more real. My complaint was about the taco trio. The chicken and steak were dry, tough, and lacked any depth of flavor. The meats were very poor quality and not well prepared. The tortillas were refrigerator-cold. The sauce was good and a stark contrast to how lackluster the taco filling was. The table was wobbly, and 30% of my mocktail spilled. My fathers complaint was that his steak frites were also cold. He believes it was cooked hours before ordering and then plated because it was not even room temperature. Neither of us understood the frites, and they had no discerning flavor. He had a few other complaints about the service, and he pointed out to me that my mothers latte was served in a cup with no saucer or napkin. This is not a refined way to serve a crafted coffee, and I fully agree, though it was not obvious to me at the time.

I can t give enough or laud compliments on this restaurant. For clean food you won t find many options in Austin no matter how it pretends to be a food city. The Well featured a mushroom grain based dish wrapped in lettuce which was one of the best vegan options I ve had. Period. The special red snapper was crispy and grilled to perfection without it being drowned in sauce. The other sides we shared included some salads and ceviche with grapefruit. Refreshing. Our only complaint was at the end there was no coffee! What? That doesn t make any sense in an upscale restaurant as this one.

2.5 stars Our sever was great and the atmosphere is excellent; however, the food and drinks were a little disappointing especially when considering the price point. For the price of the cocktails they were mid, very pretty, but the taste wasnt anything exceptional. We did have to send a drink back because it tasted chalky and the replacement drink we ordered wasnt much better. I ordered the vegan Ceasar salad and it didnt quite resemble nor taste anything close to a Ceasar salad. My partner ordered the wagyu steak and it was over cooked and underseasoned. Everything looked really nice and very instagram-able, but didnt quite hold up when it came to taste. I would suggest going to Rebel Cheese if you want a good Vegan Ceasar salad.

They probably deserve a better review, but they have ruined my morning with their uprightness. All I wanted on my visit to Austin this morning was a delicious cup of coffee and a good meal. I am pretty health conscious and wanted an organic breakfast. Tragically, the Trace is now closed. I was looking for an alternative. I started by ordering a coffee with raw sugar and creamer. It took over 10 minutes for the coffee to come and by this time I had ordered a large meal. The coffee arrived with Stevia packets. I informed the server that I do not like stevia and I wanted sugar. He then informs me that the restaurant doesnt serve any refined sugar. I tried a taste of coffee with stevia and the disgusting taste has been stuck in my mouth for the past 15 minutes. From this point on the morning became miserable. I have no drinkable coffee, which was the main thing I wanted and now I have a large meal coming with. I just wanted to leave and go somewhere I can actually enjoy a cup of good coffee. After another 5-10 minutes of waiting for the food, I apologized and left, in search of somewhere with a decent cup of coffee. Im all about eating healthy, and I love having health restaurants to eat at, but when you take it too far, you lose business. This couldve been my new favorite breakfast spot, now Ill never come back. Ended up going to True Food Kitchen where organic, dark brown sugar is clean enough. Too uppity for me

Caustic tacos upset my stomach unfortunately. Because of the quality of food here, I expected the execution to be at the same level but unfortunately at least today with their Texas Wagyu tacos, it just wasnt there. Beautifully presented with wonderful service, I realized with the first few bites that the beef was massively overcooked and over seasoned, although good flavor. Constructed too simply in my opinion with just a teaspoon full of cilantro leaves layered with pickled onion and a slice of avocado. A tomatillo Salsa, that was very acidic, along with a slice of lime on the side were the accompaniments. Since most of those ingredients are on the astringent, drying side, the balance of the dish was not there. Gave me a stomach ache . The whole thing was just not what Ive ever appreciated about tacos. No moisture. Couldve really benefited from maybe an avocado Crema or some form of moisture that wasnt just another lime/acid base.

Love this place! Went to The Well for the 1st time and my wife and I had a great experience. Both of us are GF and I am also lactose intolerant, so finding a safe place can be..... challenging, however The Well put all of our worries behind! The menu is designed (as you probably saw on-line) for health conscience and food allergy people. My wife and the Steak Frits and I had the curry, both had amazing flavors and were very satisfying. Heres the great thing, even though the cater to a certain group, the food is so damn good here, anyone can go here and have a great experience. The other couple we were with also had a perfect dinner experience. They ordered the quacamole appetizer and said it was one of the best theyve ever had and their entrees were no different. The mixologist is just a talented, we had 2 mock tails and our friends had traditional drinks, all four we incredibly tasty as we tried eachothers. Highly recommend and we can not wait to go back... Check their app for $$s off over a certain amount Dietary restrictions: The 1st question they asked is, do we need to worry about any allergies... then they work around your needs. Safe place to dine

Really enjoyed our visit and a great choice of vegetarian options. Great flavors but a couple of minor issues with the meal. The falafel was really well seasoned but so crispy I was in fear I would send half of it flying each time I cut it. Hummus was delicious. On the flip side the coconut curry was packed with a range of veg but it was undercooked not al dente. I dont have a huge appetite so there was still plenty but left more than half. Though again, great flavors. Service was prompt, but too frequent. We were on our first childless night in a decade and kept having the conversation stopped to fill barely touched water glasses. I appreciate we all have different expectations but it was unnecessary imo. Aside from that, yes this will sound harsh, but mumbling. I couldnt catch what was being asked. I have no idea if I answered a question in a way that made sense. Still small things that wouldnt stop me returning for the flavors and atmosphere.

I went there today around 4 pm. There were maybe 3 other customers. Someone who I think was the manager greeted our table and brought us water. He was friendly. He said our server would be with us shortly. She didn t come. He came back and took our drink orders. Our server didn t come. After 15 min she brought us our drinks then stood there looking at us. She finally asked if we wanted to order food, which we did. We never saw her after that. Someone else brought us our food. Nobody ever checked on us for drink refills, etc. After 20 min of waiting I finally asked a different server if he could get our server for the check. He took care of us instead. I ll also add that he was waiting on a table nearby us and he greeted them warmly, explained the menu, asked if they had any questions, and checked on them from time to time. I think this is a wonderful restaurant with amazing food. We just had a terrible server.

Great atmosphere and music, and good vibe overall. Dined in for dinner I enjoyed my meal and there were lots of great options on the menu. We shared the beet salad; I had the market fish (striped sea bass) and husband had the pasta, though they were out of the regular chickpea pasta and had to make a substitution. Based on other reviews, I didn t have high hopes for great service so I knew what to expect. My guess is that it was just lack of experience or proper training. We waited quite awhile after ordering drinks to get them, and entrees were delivered while we were still enjoying our salad. We also had to flag the server down a couple of times since she didn t really come by to check on us. I would definitely go back, and hope to be able to give at least 4 stars for service.

Always a true pleasure when you find a spot downtown with genuinely good food. The Well is the perfect place to go out with your vegan friends and still have a great meal. We had the guacamole, the Thai wraps, the Coconut Curry, and the apple crisp. The guacamole was really good - it comes with pomegranate seeds on top (which just happen to not be my favorite), but that was easily avoided and the chips were perfect. The lettuce wraps were a really unique flavor combination - just ask for extra lettuce so that you get the right ratios. The star of the show was definitely the coconut curry - which is honestly one of my favorite dishes I ve had in Austin. Flavorful, textured perfectly, full of filling squash and chickpeas. They captured exactly what you want from a curry - including a nice kick of spice that doesn t drown out the flavor. I also got a side of the fingerling potatoes and cannot stop thinking about them. Perfect crunch, great soft inside, salty and flavorful with a great light sauce. They have a great selection of mocktails, which I always appreciate. The one miss of the night were the tacos - we all decided that compared to the rest of the meal, these were just fine . Just a warning - they only validate the parking at the AMLI garage on weekdays before 5 pm. The City Hall garage gets validated 24/7. The AMLI on 2nd garage can get pricey really quick without that validation. Definitely a great place with a great vibe. We will definitely be back. In the shadowed heart of an unnamed town, under a cloak of starless night, there exists a culinary enigma known as The Well. This isnt just any dining establishment; its a place where the boundaries between the mundane and the extraordinary blur, where each dish served is a chapter in an unfolding mystery. Our tale begins with an unsuspecting patron, drawn by whispers of The Wells legendary carne asada tacos. With the first bite, an adventure commences. The meat, tender as a secret revealed in the dark, carries with it a flavor so profound, its as if it was marinated in the essence of a long-lost love. The avocado, however, is where the plot thickens. Lush and verdant, it hides beneath its creamy surface a twist so unexpected, it could only be likened to finding your soulmate, only to discover they have a twin. Evil? Perhaps. Delicious? Undoubtedly. But what is a tale of intrigue without a potion to bewitch the senses? Enter the hot chocolate with honey. A concoction so beguiling, its as if it was brewed in the cauldron of a witch residing at the crossroads of reality and enchantment. Each sip sends the drinker spiraling deeper into a narrative of their own making, where shadows dance at the edge of vision, and the sweetness of honey masks a darkness lurking beneath. And then, the crispy Brussels sprouts, a dish that could only be the brainchild of a culinary mad scientist. They arrive at the table, innocuous, almost. But with each bite, a cacophony of sound erupts, echoing like the footsteps of a specter haunting the halls of an ancient, forgotten mansion. This dish, however, harbors a secret more sinister than its brethren. For within its crispy layers lies a plot most foul, a scheme to ensnare the senses and bind them in a spell of irresistible craving. As our patron navigates this gastronomic labyrinth, they find themselves ensnared in a narrative that weaves together the threads of horror and romance, of laughter and fear. Each dish is a character, each flavor a twist in the plot, leading them ever deeper into the mystery of The Well. But beware, dear reader, for this tale does not end as you might expect. For in the world of The Well, the line between the eater and the eaten blurs, and one can never be sure whether they are the protagonist of this story or merely another dish to be served. So, if you find yourself drawn to this place of culinary intrigue, remember: The Well is not just a restaurant; its a journey into the heart of flavor itself, where every bite is a step down a path from which there may be no return.

Decent but not worth the price. My espresso martini (orange spiced but tasted regular) and squash curry were great, but also cost like $40. My fiancés tacos were average with the best being the steak. The salmon tartare was pretty spicy but lacked much flavor. They have a coupon of $25 off $75 if you pay with an app (InKind). Service was great but since the prices don t match the value of the menu, I won t be returning.

The Well provides just as the name implies. This is a really tasty gluten free, dairy free, soy free, processed sugar free spot. We ordered a slew of apps, personally I would highly recommend the ceviche, it was so fresh and the cassava chips were the perfect vessel. My entree was the roasted chicken and I was really impressed. The creaminess of the sauce coupled with pops of caper and olive flavor was really splendid. The chicken itself was added, it almost felt, to complement the rest. Best supporting actor. The only drawback was the tacos were a bit dry, seems like an easy fix though.

Both were quite tasty. We ordered falafel and hummus, fingerling potatoes, street corn, and coconut curry squash. The falafel and potatoes had the perfect crunch. Everything was good and flavorful but a tad on the salty side. We wished we had room for dessert.. next time. The service was okay. We parked in the garage behind the restaurant. Not sure if thats the one they validate or not... I just saw another review mention they validate but for a specific garage.

Even though I ordered Migas Bowl, I tasted from everyones plate. Everything was great but my vote goes to Chilaquiles. Do try their hot sauce too if you like spicy. I also had their Invigorate drink which was very refreshing. The pictures are chilaquiles, Migas, vegan chorrizo and egg white scramble. Also, you can park at the Austin City Hall Garage which is a block away and get the parking ticket validated by the restaurant.

I was super excited to go here based on previous reviews and I am a huge health nut, however I was a bit disappointed. A friend and I went here on a Saturday night, ambience was super cute and our waitress was nice however the food was a bit disappointing. The guacamole appetizer for 12 dollars came out with a small handful of chips and we were told it would cost extra for more chips.. followed by the main meal the salmon was under cooked and the piece was also small. The Brussels sprouts I was super excited for but they were so so so small (for 9 dollars!?) and it was drowning in oil and honey nearly to the point where they were not even edible. Would like to say I would give it another shot but probably not as Austin has other good spots.
