Their fajitas rancheras tacos with beans is my favorite. They have two kinds of hot sauce - mild and very hot habanero sauce which youll have to ask for if youre brave enough to try it. Been eating here since it was named Dos Hermanos way back when. Same family and same delicious recipes. Im there so often, they know what I like.

One of the most authentic and flavorful Mexican restaurants in all of Texas spoken as a proud native Texan! Habanero Cafe truly shines in both the quality of its food and the warmth of its service. The attention to detail is evident in every bite, and you can tell they take pride in delivering a top-notch experience. The owner is incredibly kind and always on-site, adding a personal touch that makes you feel right at home. While they offer a great selection of beer, it s worth noting that they don t serve liquor. That s not a drawback, just something to keep in mind. All in all, Habanero Cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor authentic Mexican flavors in Austin!

I went to this restaurant that I have been going for years! And always liked it. This time I had a very bad experience with the guy at the counter. I called a friend to come over and eat breakfast with me. He told me that he didn t think they would let him eat there. I didn t ask why. I asked him where he was at and he told me he was at the park (Gillis) next door. So I ordered two Big breakfast to go with drinks. The order was too much for me to carry at one time so said to the cashier I am going to take the food out to my car and come back for the drinks the cashier told me he would take the drinks to the car for me I thought that was very nice. So when I got to car I put my food in the car my cup holders had cups in them so I turned around and asked the cashier if he would put the cups that was in my car in the trash for me so I could take the drinks he had and put them in the car. The cashier asked me what do he look like a trash boy. I said no! So I took the cups and put them in the trash at the park. When my friends asked me what happened I told them. And they told me the reason they didn t think they could come to the restaurant was because. The same cashier was picking up trash in the parking lot of the restaurant and throwing the trash over the fence into the park (Gillis) and they saw him doing it. So they started throwing the trash back over the fence into the restaurant parking lot and it became a Big mess. Now I would not be surprised if there going trash in that parking lot daily. All it takes is one person to turn a very good restaurant into a bad one. I don t think I will be going back!

this place is the last true bastion of old school Austin style Tex-Mex. It ticks all the right boxes. Absolutely delicious food that is still reasonably priced in a bustling, cozy converted house filled with awesome smells and sounds of happy humans delivering and devouring the very best in ATX-Mex. Every time we go I wonder why its been so long (we do sorta live across town, but I have been known to drive great distances for food). Sure, its a tight fit, with tables packed in to seat as many hungry diners as possible. Sure, its noisy, the kitchen din blending with greetings from staff and the roar and babble of families eating and waiting to eat. And yes, there can be a wait, but it is so well worth it. My daughter and I went on Sunday and magically, there was a parking spot right out front and no wait to be seated. Wow! Moments later the waiting area was full. Clearly, we were meant to be there. I ordered a gordita with chicken and my daughter got the chicken quesadilla, and an order of chips and salsa. Id forgotten how good the salsa is. Fresh and thick with a building heat. Oir food arrived very quickly and we dug in. Now, you have to know that both of us are extremely challenged when it comes to eating meat, because we have a debilitating fear of squidgy bits. We need not worry at Habanero. Our chicken was perfectly trimmed, expertly seasoned and generously portioned. The gordita shell was crunchy-chewy as it should be without a trace of grease. The beans inside were smokey and the onions with the chicken chunks well caramelized. The quesadilla was fat and well browned and also grease-free. A perfect example of a dish often written off as unimportant but one that, when done well, is just about the best thing ever to hit a plate. We ate as much as we could and took the rest, vowing that next time we were getting the sizzling fajitas, which we always say, and for alme reason never do. Go while you can, folks, because real Austin is disappearing faster than free beer at an in-store. And this place is real Austin.

Really good Mexican food. They could easily use a bigger building but they are great at working through the long line. The salsa is good and spicy, but their queso is a great alternative if the salsa is too hot. The carnitas are really tasty with enough meat for more than the two tortillas you get. Served with some of the best beans Ive had. The soda offered is by the can.

Service was very good and fast and the food was AMAZING. We didn t get a picture of it unfortunately because we were so hungry but dang, it s worth everything. Also a very affordable place considering it s in Austin and the food is top tier. We got the taco plate. The beef fajita taco meat will melt in your mouth. Much love to the man working in the front with the friendliest attitude!! (Probably the owner) Parking: Free parking in the back and on the side streets. We got a spot super easy within seconds.

I stumbled upon Habernaro Cafe in Austin, and its a hidden gem! This place serves up authentic Mexican cuisine at ridiculously affordable prices. The moment you step inside, youre transported to a vibrant Mexican town, complete with colorful decor and lively vibes. The food is the real star of the show - flavorful, fresh. From tender tacos to savory enchiladas, every dish is a taste sensation. And the best part isp You wont break the bank! Most meals are under $10, making it an unbeatable value. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff who greet you with a smile. Theyre happy to recommend their favorite dishes or accommodate special requests. Habernaro Cafe is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine without the hefty price tag. Come for the delicious food, stay for the warm atmosphere ¡Buen provecho! This place is absolutely AMAZING! My friends and I crave this food and go and visit Habanero Cafe regularly. Hands down my favorite Mexican food spot in Austin. It s a staple to the city. My only note is that I wish they served liquor (aka had margaritas). But, the food is the star here and my heart still loves Habanero Cafe just the same. YOU MUST EAT HERE! Parking: There s a few spots in the front, a parking lot behind the restaurant, and free street parking. There are multiple options, but the parking lot behind is on the smaller side. I recommend car pooling if available to save time finding multiple parking spots. Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant and kid friendly. Since the opening of this restaurant I have been a loyal customer; dining in 3-4 times a month. The owner and staff know me and my family by name. I have nothing ill to say about the quality of food. Unfortunately though, today my son was rudely denied access to have his legally registered service dog by the owner. My son offered to educate him of his legal rights, and yet still the owner stated I dont care! Call the cops on me! Needless to say, we wont ever return. So a word to the Service Dog Community or its allies, dont even bother and spread the word.

Habanero Cafe is a long time establishment in south Austin. This very tiny location has been cooking fantastic Tex Mex dishes for decades now. It probably only has 14 total tables cramped in the small place but everything moves around well. Open everyday until 3pm, they serve breakfast all day along with your typical variety of Tex Mex dishes. Personally I think they might have the best salsa in the entire city, which is a bold statement. Also ask for the special habanero salsa that is pure fire. Migas plate is excellent, fantastic breakfast tacos, but also consider El Patron dish, fajita steak, over easy eggs, fries & beans. All the tacos you can choose from are exceptional. Great Al pastor, Piccadillo, Barbacoa and other taco options. Lunch specials available each weekday for a great price. The service here is always very nice, fast and friendly. You can certainly call in and place to go orders for pickup. They serve bottle beer here but no margaritas. I have been going to this spot for over a decade now. You have a lot of choices for Tex Mex places all across Austin TX but Habanero Cafe might be one of the best. Such a tiny small spot packing amazing flavor with great service. Parking: Park in their private lot or free parking on the street Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair ramp is accessible

My favorite Mexican breakfast spot! Nice and hearty for a day of exploring Austin! Service was great, food was even better, always on point. The wait wasnt too long either. The spicy salsa was delicous. Definitely a must try for breakfast

I called to place a order based off their online menu and they attempted to over charge and the manager that lied about his name Arthur stated they the prices went up and hung the phone up in my face! The food is mediocre and the service is horrible and I think that s due to the fact that they are all family!! As a business update your online pricing and it was never about that it was how I was handled .
