Over the years Emos has been a very manageable venue, havingAC, location, and parking, which is more than most venues of this size can claim. I am writing this review specifically because they have switched to reusable cups at the bar, a gesture I very much appreciated.

Boom! Pretty close-knit, open space for midsize crowds. Able to attract relatively big acts versus building size. Shares a parking lot with Come and Take It (a small but also popular venue). Beer/cocktail prices are a bit high but typical for concert places.

Greedy, rude and ignorant staff members, the last two times I went, they wouldn t let me wait outside for my Uber, having to literally go across the street because according to them I was in private property?? Like I paid so much for drinks and tickets but I can t even wait for my Uber OUTSIDE the venue after concerts are finished. The area itself is very insecure so get ready to either get threatened by staff or get jumped across the street

Very unsafe area witnessed a man breaking into a car in broad daylight. Because of this, I parked within the venue. I admit fault for not checking for a parking fee, but the signs are extremely small and seem intentionally hard to find. The most frustrating part was that the parking lot attendants watched us park and didnt warn us. Several people, including myself, found our cars locked and had to pay $100 to unlock them. Very predatory. A $33 concert ended up costing $133. Additionally, the venue itself was terrible: dirty, unsanitary, with poor acoustics and overpriced amenities.

Youre part of the problem: concerts are barely affordable nor any fun. NOT LISTING BAR PRICES IS TOXIC CAPITALISM. Youre ok with customers AND your staff straining themselves to shout the menu again and again?! How is that OK? $15 MODELO. $26 double vodka. Where does it say no umbrellas allowed?! IT WAS RAINING. Terrible sound, rude and pretentious staff. Never going back. Your gree and disrespect are killing the live music scene. Even if it was my favorite band I wouldnt go back.

A really dreadful, unfair experience from some of the nastiest staff members! Not all of them of course, but definitely 2 in particular! They should certainly require background checks on staff members especially if children are present in the facility! Just an overall unpleasant experience. May I add, the manager was very heartfelt which was appreciated and I really hope he looks into his staff and their unruly behavior!

Ive been to Emos twice and had a bad experience both times. The first time I had a boot put on my car and had to pay $100 to get it taken off. This second time I went with my daughter and had to pay $50 parking for 5 hours, the most Ive ever had to pay for parking. I had just purchased a drink, and before the concert even started I was approached by a staff member in regards to me letting my daughter take a drink. Yes, she is a minor, but under the assumption that Texas law does allow minors to drink if they are with their parent, I didnt think it would be an issue. Instead of telling me it was against their policies and letting us enjoy the show, they made me throw out my full drink I just paid $30 for, and threatened to have the police escort us out even though I was just calmly asking why I was being kicked out. (Also my first time ever being kicked out of somewhere.) So no concert, and I wasted money on tix, parking, and a drink. I drove from out of town for these events, but will never go again. Its a great place if you want to waste your money and be treated like a criminal. They are just too greedy and uncaring.

Anyone that thinks Emos is a good venue needs to have their head checked - $15 beers, no A/C, horrible acoustics and parking that will cost you literally $100 bucks if you arent careful. The owner, C3 Presents think (ACL Fest mega money) must be in cahoots with the BitLock parking scam company that boots cars every night across from the venue making thousands in fines every concert. C3 never puts up signs warning patrons about the costly parking fines. AVOID THIS VENUE.

Overall a good venue to see concerts and events. Very spacious and its an open plan. They have an outdoor patio area as well. Downsides are the bathrooms are kind of rough, and the AC is only on a decent level. By the time the headliner is on, its kind of hot and musty in there. Please excuse my poverty phones sound quality in the video, it was more of a video to show the effects and layout, and the sound is far better in person.

Traveled to Austin to see Blind Guardian here. The venue itself is not that bad but beer and drinks are expensive. Mostly, leaving a negative review because there is no other parking in the area besides in the lot. The parking at the venue is outrageous. You have to pay by the hour. They offer 1, 2, 3, and 5 hour options and to see the show from 7:00pm to 11:00pm they only offer a 5 hour option which is $50. So, my ticket was $50 for the show and they expect me pay $50 more just to park there. I just drove back to my hotel and Ubered. Its ridiculous, thats why Im giving Emos 2 stars. The venue is basically robbing you.

Horrible venue. Im not sure what happened, if someone bought the EMOs name, but its not like the old venue down town. The sound is washed out. Either acoustics or sound system, either way, your favorite band will sound terrible. (This is after visiting multiple times and having the same experience). Parking is basically non existent, so be prepared to waste at least 2 hours of your time, or be prepared to risk getting your car towed. The size of shows they are booking WAY exceed what the area can accommodate. Then everything costs twice what it should. Expect to spend $20 for a single beer. Circuit of the Americas LITERALLY has cheaper drinks. And if you manage to drink enough to use the rest room, be prepared to be splattered by other peoples piss in the restroom because the place is too cheap to install walls between the urinals. Its an absolute shame what they did to a legendary spot, that was the Backroom.

Solid venue, seen some great bands come through here. Word of warning, pay attention to where you park. If you park anywhere up front, in front of the beauty school/nail salon/Mexican restaurant/etc, you will get booted. There are some signs but not enough. You would think each spot would indicate what business it is for since they clearly have an issue with it. There are guys camping out in cars, waiting for you to park and watch you walk to Emos or Come and Take it. Then theyll boot you and charge you $100 to get it removed. Not the way you want to end your evening dealing with lowlifes that specifically are there to take advantage of the situation and rip people off. Avoid the whole situation, have to contest the charge with credit card, or make a complaint with the Austin Police Department

The staff here are absolutely incredible. We went to the Jeremy Zucker concert and parked in the green zone in the map we were given. We came out after the concert and our car had a boot on it from Bitlock. They were trying to say that we weren t allowed to park there because their map said we can t. Well I don t have access to their map and we were told that they couldn t legally take off the boot without us paying the ridiculous $100 fee. I went to grab a staff member from Emo s and she talked with the booting company and eventually got the GM of Emo s to come talk to them. They fought hard for us and even got the police involved and convinced them to take off the boot for no charge! There is no way we could ve done that by ourselves and we re super grateful for the Emo s staff for fighting for us. The concert venue was also great and it was such an awesome concert. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

First time actually making it to Emos. It is a little bit out of the way, but that helps with street parking up the hill (free parking!), easy to see the venue from the main road. Luckily, I do but drink because prices seemed crazy, but that is everywhere now, I think.

Ive been here a few times and the security is always rude. I asked where I could pick up guest list tickets and was told theres no guest list, keep walking All concerts have those. All he needed to do was direct me to where the box office was. Prepare to get yelled at if you stand near the wall stage left. Just set a barricade there if you desperately need a walkway! Youll also get yelled at to leave right after the artist walks off the stage. The box office, ticket takers, and merch staff were awesome, thank goodness.

Emos is a great venue for live music, since you can see big bands in a relatively small nightclub-like environment. We saw Nothing But Thieves and Kid Kapichi, both of which play much bigger arenas in the UK where theyre from. The place has several large bars that are spaced out well, so you never have to wait more than a minute or two for a drink. The only downside is theres not a lot of parking. That wasnt a problem for us since we took an Uber, which we highly recommend when going to Emos. Its only a 10 minute ride from the Music Lane garage, which is surrounded by restaurants and bars. Well definitely be back to Emos. Btw, the pic of graffiti is from outside of Emos while we were waiting in line for the show.

BUYER BEWARE: Just before the encore to a show you paid good money for, you will NOT be allowed to re-enter the show, and the moment you open the door, the old blonde lady who clearly smokes too much will *simply* *shout* at you, no-rentry, doors are closed over and over again as she closes the door in your face. Cool venue, but I don t understand why the line is always wrapped around the building like a nightclub trying to entice people passing by to come because its lit. The events are typically sold out, and they have large events on a regular basis, so there should be a better system in place to get people in the building quicker. Drinks are overpriced and suck! Do not get the Tropical Punch

Venue is always good but they could use a new sound man. Music usually sounds distorted and a bit loud so you cant clearly hear the actual artist or musicians singing. Ive been to three concerts here now and they were all terrible due to the sound guys not knowing how to use the board properly. My advice is dont waste your money on your favorite artist here because youll be very disappointed hearing and seeing them here.

Security is a safety team more than an enforcement agency. They let a concert be a concert with an eye out for safety. That being said, if you get in the pit, they let the pit sort itself out unless a person needs medical assistance. This is the first venue Ive been to that has water stations and cups for free. Overall, it was a good time, and the size was small enough to be easily navigated to all places you need for a concert. They even have a smoking area outback, all fenced in with a nice wooden fence.

Im the kind of person who will make the best out of any experience. I wish I could give Enos five stars. They have startenders. Their staff did a great job at handling the adversities that came their way. It was pouring rain and it busted through the ceiling right over the electrical by the audio booth. I wasnt sure if the show would be able to go on, but the staff did a fantastic job at fixing the problem. Of The Trees was incredible. Sound engineering for the venue was great. Now to the reason I cannot give the venue five stars, and upon my return it may drop to one if the problem isnt fixed. Emos as a venue seriously screwed up. I couldnt find trash cans anywhere, so it wasnt a surprise that people were littering the ground - I brought my trash up to the bar everytime. I couldnt find an accessible trash can anywhere. The bathroom situation was terrible - the line was out the door. There isnt much of any outdoor space that is covered for people to go outside to get a breather if they want. The show itself was oversold - WAY oversold, by at least 100. I understand the venue is here to capitalize of the people, but seriously? There was hardly room to breathe, much less move, until people started clearing out (probably because they had too much of the crowd). I dont care if you expect some of the audience to be outside for some of the show, and therefore expect there to be more space inside. Set a lower cap for your ticket sales. This was ridiculous. I wasnt the only one to complain about it. I guarantee you if this problem isnt fixed upon my return, I wont be coming back. Ever.

Bought tickets to a show, show was pushed back 6 months. No problem, Covid, I get it. The morning of the new concert date (pushed to a monday I should add since me and my girlfriend both took days off work), concert was pushed back from 7 to 10 PM, the headliner wouldnt be on till 11:30 PM. We live far away, so at this point, were over it. When we called, we were told our tickets were accounted for, but all sales were final and the only thing we could do was resell our tickets through the Emos website, but not given any info regarding how to resell them. We never got a confirmation email, login info, nothing. Absolute scam and the most clueless customer service reps Ive ever spoken with. Wild that people consider this a reputable venue. You got $70 from me, but lost the $100s I would have spent in the future. Good job Emos.

I had an awesome time here seeing St. Lucia. It s very spacious and it wasn t cramped at all. The temperature inside was comfortable, but it is October! The staff was really friendly during check in, which can be rare for concert venues. The bathrooms were also super clean. Great sound in the venue. I considered driving here but ultimately decided against it. On their website, they do warn about not parking at other businesses even though they may be closed. I didn t risk it. The ride share pickup was easy to find. This was an awesome experience and I d for sure come back here!

Beware! There is not enough parking at Emo s so we parked across the street in an empty lot. After the show every car in the lot had a boot on it. Cost us, & probably 30 others, each $100 to get the boots off. Emo s should be ashamed for setting their customers up for that scam. I has literally been going on for years if you read reviews. C3 productions could easily put signs up reminding clients not to park across the street but they haven t and for years the adjacent property owner makes a mint after all Emo s shows. Is C3 productions in cahoots with the adjacent property owner who makes bank after every Emo s show on this outrageous parking scam?

Went to a show and there was no ADA parking available. We parked in the next closest lot and ended up having a parking scam run on us where they booted our car and demanded $100 from everyone in the lot. So because there is not enough handicap parking for a show at Emo s it cost us $100.

Love this venue. Its small, but you have a ton of space. No issues with security or staff. They ID you otw in for a wristband. Its nice when you get the chance to get a closer or more intimate experience with an artist, and you still have some room to move or breathe. The vibes are usually up, whether you are with a group or solo. Its a fun time. The bar has enough options, ranging from White claws to Modelo to Electric Jellyfish. But they are around 14 bucks. They offer free water cups near the merch booth. Recently, Ive attended Saba, Blxst and The Knocks and they all kicked.

I was kicked out during Clutch bc a man kept elbowing repeatedly, my wife in the breast. I pushed him and I got kicked out.I had 2 Helmet Tshirts large and xlarge that was left behind and security would not let me get my shirts. I spent 70.00 on 2 shirt to be kicked out bc I was protecting my wife. SHE is recovering from a broken neck. No one would listen to my wife and I as to what happened. I was immediately peffed as the nad guy. I just would like my Helmet Tshirts! Please.

This venue sucks in every way a venue can possibly suck. They charge $14 for a beer. Their bouncers are a bunch of little men with gigantic egos looking for a fight. If you actually appreciate music and want to hear it dont go there because they play the music so low that all you can hear is crowd noise. Any self-respecting band shoyld avoid this venue. Its the worst venue in Austin.

Wonderful staff! Clean and friendly environment, the biggest downfall though is the accessibility/accommodations for people with disabilities. Emos austin has exceeded on all aspects except for one, and thats with disability parking and priority indoor seating to view concerts. I myself and a few other people (one in crutches, and the other using a walking stick) had been struggling to find a safe and comfortable place to view the show without risking any potential incidents relating to our disability. Benches are available inside the venue but were quickly occupied by people who wanted to get a better view of the show. The staff were friendly but were also at a loss when I asked for a place to sit. They tried their best and gave me a foldable chair to sit on away from the crowd which was honestly disappointing since I wanted to watch the show just as much as everyone else. Parking was awful, the only disability parking that was available were occupied by the tour buses from the artists playing at the venue and left my group with no choice but to park on the other side of the building so that we have enough flat walking surface for me to commute to and from the event. I kindly ask that Emos Austin finds better and more accessible disability accommodations for those who want to view the shows just like any other person.
