When I first hired Marshall, I really felt that he was going to help my and my daughter, or at least thats what he said. Although, I had years of well-documented evidence to provide to the court, Marshalls poor decision-making and lack of planning led my family down a nightmarish path. When I became so fearful for my daughters safety that I asked him to non-suit the case, he refused. Then, he strolled into final hearing with very little preparation, despite our pleading, and erased any progress we had made. His poor and reckless decisions and final positions were not at all what I wanted, and angered the judge who made me and my young child pay the price. He then tried to imply that my situation was not that bad by disclosing details of other cases and terrible outcomes, in order to minimize his failure. We will forever be paying for Marshalls poor judgment and poor planning. My family will never be the same.

First off im going to say wow!! Marshall exceeding everything in what I was looking for in a custody attorney!! I came into this a nervous wreck and beyond scared for any down outcome. Marshall immediately reassured me of the good mom I am and how these steps are not easy but we will get through them together and that we did! After over a year battling this divorce I came across Marshall and immediately my nightmare was going to come to an end. I have primary custody got everything I desired for my kids and now finally getting divorced. He was so patient, listened to everything crazy and not I had to say and remained so honest and kind through it all! I recommend Marshall to anyone needing a great divorce attorney he will exceed your expectations to the fullest!! Thank you so very much for all of her time it means so much to me and my family!

Deciding to change your marital status is never easy. Keith listened to my situation, emotionally supported me during the process, and didnt rush me. I thought I should be moving faster, marshall reminded me that these things take time, my wellness was the utmost importance and in the end time timing WAS perfect. Thx for everything Marshall.

Marshall was a fantastic resource during one of the worst periods of my life. He or his staff were always available for questions, and I always heard back from Marshall himself within 24 hours of speaking to his paralegal, and significantly sooner than that in urgent matters. He was extremely effective during my trial, and managed to get me exactly what I wanted when there was little likelihood from the start that this would be the case.

First , it is highly likely that the glowing reviews are from clients that have used his services to eliminate the child from the other parent, and have taken something unjustly from the other parent. Without any regard for the child. This attorney is very corrupt , we have evidence of him suborning perjury with his clients, using TRO and PO as a legal tactic for leverage in civil cases, making false statements to the judiciary , using deception to secure government documents , having ex parte communication with judges to subvert federal fundamental protections, collaborating with non - party to secure money , prolonging litigation , making false statements on government documents . Those clients that still have the mind set the divorce and custody still involve litigation may want to review their mindset . This guy is a part of the corruption problem in the US with the antifamily law mafia .

I have seen Mr. Thompson and his law firm fighting for my friend, Trish, throughout her lengthy court case. Trish has always been complimentary toward him, and from what I have seen, Mr. Thompson and his firm are a great and excellent advocate for her case or for anyone that needs help in family law. Mr. Thompson takes time to understand the case, shares his passion and empathy with his client, and in this case I have seen with my friend, Trish, seeks to always protect the interests of his clients. If I should ever need a family lawyer, I intend to go to Mr. Thompson first.

Marshall Thompson is a trustworthy family lawyer. He is compassionate and determined to help fight for your case. He shows empathy towards his clients and is able to be calm and wise when clients are upset dealing with tough circumstances. If you need someone who can handle high conflict cases, Marshall is the best lawyer to have on your side. He has been a warrior helping me through my case. It is my pleasure to work with you, Marshall. I m surprised by the negative comments as my experience has been nothing but great in dealing with Mr. Thompson and his law firm. I believe Marshall is one of the best lawyers in Travis and surrounding counties. His court hearing demeanor is excellent in being prepared, on point addressing the true concerns (not rambling on about pointless issues), and is a great negotiator. Most of all, he doesn t bend his ethics to take on bad clients. I highly recommend Marshall as a family law attorney.

I have to agree with the other two negative reviews here: Marshall is monumentally unresponsive, and only gets back to his clients when threatened by legal action against his client. As Cheryl pointed out, he takes on far too many cases, doesn t have the staff to handle the workload, and charges a premium (presumably because his firm has a good reputation). He also seems quite unprepared in court, as if he read the case files someone else prepared for him the morning of the appearance. Further, he lies in open court, & assumes an arrogant and hostile aspect such that in my case, the judge rebuked him. There are many good family lawyers on Austin; Marshall Thompson isn t one of them.

Seems like a great guy and would have liked to work with him but I had a few questions before putting down a retainer and tried emailing a few times and never got a response. I felt like maybe I wasnt worth his time or maybe things just fell through the cracks but when you hire an attorney you want to make sure they are responsive and attentive when you need them and I wasnt getting that.
