Cool location and wonderful staff, but sadly the food leaves a lot to be desired. When the concept is a fusion of two notoriously flavorful cuisines, youd expect the fare to retain at least some of that pep and excitement. Each time Ive visited though, I leave feeling like the whole affair was a missed opportunity. Uninspired proteins, a general lack of seasoning, and each dish tends to feel somewhat phoned-in. On my last visit I ordered the Chile Rellenos, and it wasnt even fried. Just a mostly raw poblano stuffed with cubed lamb meat. With a bit more care and intention this place could be something really special. But for now this will be a restaurant I only visit when I forget how bland the food actually is. Solid cocktails. Cozy outdoor seating.

But if you want great Indian food from a super relaxed atmosphere, this is your place. The Naan is crispy on the outside and flaky in the middle, just like it should be. The chicken fell apart when hitting it with the fork, and the curry is to die for. Great place. Really good prices. Give it a go.

You all nearly killed my boyfriend, he ordered the chicken enchiladas, with the tikka sauce, they aren t supposed to have nuts. Yall gave him the sauce with nuts and he wound up nearly going into anaphylaxis. If you are going to be lazy about serving the correct sauce at least inform the customer about the change. This is not something to take lightly. And if the sauce on the enchiladas has nuts then indicate that in the menu the way you do for other items on the menu. The chicken enchiladas do NOT say that the tikka has nuts on it. Fix your menus before you get a lawsuit.

The food was exceptional the the cardamom margs were out of this world. We got the coconut curry (extra spicy), wings, samosas and a pitcher of margs. The food was perfect. Samosas were perfectly fried, wings were crispy, flavorful, and full of spice. And lets talk about the margs. One of Austin BIGGEST hidden gems. Whether its the cardamom marg, curry marg, or tulsi marg; theyre out of this world. Good amount of booze, perfect balance of lime, and full of unique flavor Ive never had in a drink like this. The pitcher was $34 which amounted to ~6 drinks, which is a great price. Overall, this is a restaurant you gotta try. Great food, great spice, interesting menu, and exceptionally friendly service. Ill be bringing my friends.

As the name suggests, you need to be in Nasha (super high) to like the food of this restaurant. We ordered chicken curry, biryani and a chicken quesadilla for our child. Every item was bad! Specially the chicken curry. The rice was stale, the chicken curry just had the flavor of tomato paste, the chicken in both the curry and biryani was stale and smelled. The naan was store bought and was so chewy that even a dog wont be able to chew it well. The chicken quesadilla was so bland and it had maybe 2 piece of chicken and was loaded with cheese. Extremely disappointing! Never coming back to this restaurant. It mustve been the worst Indian food Ive had!

After eating at Nasha and New India for nearly 15 years Im done supporting them. They overcharged us significantly and completely messed up our most recent (and last) takeout order, called my fiancée a liar over it, and then claimed theyd have a manager refund what they owed me but never did. The food is okay and we liked that they were a local shop trying to keep prices reasonable, but this kind of experience on a $100 order for two people is not something I want to ever have again. Dietary restrictions: Depends who you talk to, but on average theyre not great about food allergies. They dont use dairy much, so thats okay, but for things like nightshades youre going to have a hard time getting good information.

I had the worst experience of my life. I wonder how they got 4* reviews. I was visited here yesterday and I ordered Veg.curry and Garlic Naan and Veg.curry was cold and very bland and in it they kept the size of vegetables big so that they have to give less quantity and it tastes the worst. read the reviews carefully before going to this place otherwise you will regret it. Dont go this place, don t waste your money! the point is that after leaving I looked at the reviews and realized how bad everyones experience has been. The responses given by the owner to everyone s unfavorable google review is deplorable. This owner does not care about their customers. Needless to say, i will never return.

Wow, Im shocked how terrible food was. Despite ordering a variety including Nachos chicken, Carne Asada, Beef Tacos, Chili Relleno, and Curried Margarita, only the margarita and possibly the tacos provided any solace, albeit a meager 20%. The service was not great either, with basic requests like water ignored and additional charges for simple accompaniments like chilies. Even after multiple reminders, the chilies was only delivered when our meals were nearly finished. The hot water I asked for never came and at the end when I paid for the meal I told the server and she was like eh, sorry we are busy today Overall, i don t recommend this place!

Service is casual, but accurate, if not attentive. Ambience is casual and artistic, and unpretentious. Give this place a shot!

This place has no sense of clarity on what they want to do. Their Indian food is straight up the worst I ve ever had. My roommate who s new to Austin told me he had food here and that it was good and i immediately made him a homemade chicken tikka masala and even took him to some more authentic Indian places over the next few days in Austin and he agrees that this place is just absolutely inferior. It s not even a matter of opinion. If you like the food here then you haven t remotely tried real Indian food. If you re gonna defend yourselves saying it s Tex mee fusion then I m sorry that is even worse. If you want a simple Indian Tex mex dish then just get a chicken tikka or paneer taco from velvet taco. Frozen food is honestly better than the garbage they serve. The best part is the owners are replying to negative reviews saying they don t know about Indian food and that reviews are fake. To them i can only simply say. Take a damn hint and try to change up the way you make your food instead of getting so butt hurt defending yourself. You guys could do so much with that potentially beautiful building and perfect location.

The Samosa outside breading was too thick and filled with oil. The inside stuffing was salty and tasteless. The Raita was too watery and lacked flavor, and the chicken Tandoori was also salty and not made well. Lastly, I am not sure how anyone could ruin Garlic Nan but they did! It was dry and stiff. Totally worth a visit to enjoy some TexMex Indian fusion food. Short menu for simplicity but well balanced for taste safari! Definitely recommend to try their hand made samosa and the chicken wings! The chutney reminded me of home land marathi taste. However to the restaurant I was little turned down for your Tandoori Chicken Taco - the chicken was expected to be tandoor but wasn t at all. If its tandoori taco it has to be done in tandoor! Liked the interior, the bar tender was friendly, orders came out quick. Nice place will be back for peethla and sheera but the tandoori tacos please do tandoori chicken else it is not chicken tandoori taco.

We had high expectations that were dashed as we tasted the food. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. One Indian member of our party suggested the food was somewhat tasteless. I had Keema enchiladas with Tikka Marsala sauce, it was interesting but nothing to write home about, the samosas were rather bland and the enchiladas were tasteless. We will not be back.

First time ordered food from this place while I was in downtown, Naan was uncooked, Panner was also not upto expectation. Samosa was good (will give you that). Ended up spending a lot through online delivery option, still had to get a pizza..

This place deserves to be here forever! Ive been eating here for almost a decade and have never once had a less than stellar experience. Even when they leaned into the indro-mex infusions, we were impressed with how well the flavors complimented each other. Solid food and drinks!

I travel to Austin very often and I am a big fan of this restaurant. If you are born and raised in Mumbai you will know why I love this restaurant. India has so many different cuisines. Biryani from south is different taste than Mumbai or Delhi or anywhere else in India. Please don t be fooled by reviews. If you appreciate trying home made Marathi and fusion food this is a really good restaurant. Owner was very fun and kind. The staff was very friendly. Kinjal and Prisca took care of us. I highly recommend Ghati Masala Dal, Lamb Biryani, Koliwada Shrimp.

Nasha was a great experience! The patio on a cool October evening was amazing (and our 2 year old loved it too). The wings were phenomenal, so was the tikka masala and naan. Somehow we were the only ones here on a Sunday evening. But to-go seemed to be busy. The music selection was good too.

Their margarita list is short and sweet but full of herb flavors, which are also offered in a pitcher size. Thank you Rosaaa for your amazing service! Well definitely be coming back in the future :)

Honestly, I dont understand how this restaurant has any good reviews. We were visiting Austin for a weekend and decided to go to Nasha for dinner. On a hot summer night, they had no A/C, just some stand fans barely circulating air around the dining area. Regardless of that, we decided to give the food a try. Food was pretty awful. Chole did not taste like chole at all. It had so much garam masala. Even the kids version with mild was just loaded with garam masala. Kids had to eat oly plain rice. some others ordered biryani, which was okay, I guess. But overall, this restaurant has not at all good food. Ambience was also pretty sad. Just some random indian artifacts placed around the room to make it look like a stereotypical indian restaurant. Again, completely confused by other reviews. Try at your own risk.

The pictures and the reviews look enticing but this was one of the most horrible Indian food I have ever had so far. My friend asked for a shrimp biryani and they added bunch of habanero sauce just to make it spicy. She could not have that food as her mouth of burning. Also I had ordered chicken thali and they simply added chicken in the lentils and gave it. I mean which Indian place adds chicken in the lentils? You can save your money on this place.

Nasha is truly a hidden gem. After putting off trying this place for years in fear of not finding parking etc eventually made it here today. True to reputation this is the best indian fusion place and the service was great. Price was resonable and they make everything including Nan on site. Very clean Kitchen and Bar. Parking: Lot of parking spots available both on side street and dedicated lot

The main dish I had was great. I ate some for lunch and then had the leftovers for lunch the next day. I dont remember what it was called, but it was basmati rice, peas, cauliflower, and potatoes. The onions were a flat-out no for me. They were very greasy, and whatever flavor that was on them was too much. The Naan was super hard. I gave it to my family, and I think they threw it out. The four stars are for the service and main dish. Parking: Its a small lot, but free.

Food was average. The house special aloo gobi - do yourself a favor and make it yourself at home. There was no flavor, it was very bland. Also got Chili relleno, now that was good. It was probably a fusion, because the gravy tasted like butter masala - which Im not complaining about. Garlic naan was ok, cheese quesadilla was good. Overall, food was only ok but I would not be coming back. Service was good. Neat bathrooms. Parking available at the site.

My partner and I are from Ottawa, Canada and were Visting Austin for the first time. On our way to the hotel from the Airport, we decided to stop by to have lunch since it was past lunch time and we were starving. Glad that they were still open. We re not sure if the AC wasn t working or that they had turned it off on purpose. But it was too hot inside. Atleast for both of us since were going from 12 degrees to 40 degrees heat. It was a very hot sunny day to be honest. I wouldn t say that the food was very extraordinary but we really liked the way they have made a fusion of both Mexican and Indian cuisine. The biryani wasn t properly cooked and had lumps of rice. They had added artificial colours which I personally hate. The taste was okay nothing very extraordinary. The chilly Lamb Rellano was good. Something we had never tried before. Last but not least, the ambience was okay. Seating arrangement can be done better.

We were visiting Austin from another town. It was our choice to eat in an Indian restaurant. Off course we made the bad choice. It was the worst Indian food we ever ate. Indo-tex-mix does not have to mean to taste like nothing. Th rice, the chick pea curry all has a very different combination of spices and was NOT good. The so called Kids meal was not child friendly. The chicken was frozen off course and is not heated up well. I had to wipe off the masala from the top of that chicken and still no one could eat it. So spicy and sour. Well.. We brought a biryani and packed it for dinner in hotel room. We had to put in the thrash. as the rice is not cooked and there was no way we can chew it and eat it. My husband had to drive at night and brought some food for us. The price was too high with a service fee. Poor my mom, had to eat the rice as she is a diabetic.. had no choice. Please have some honesty to the customers. You can make better Indian food..

We were a group of six - we sat outside under the misting-fan - bit too soaking. The appetizers were amazing - the main course - as long as you stick to tradition Indian curries and biryani and other menu items they are delicious - we order a fusion : Vegetarian Chili Relleno Plate - really bad dish - stay away from it. Overall good food - they mean spicy when you ask spicy.
