Wonderful classic place in the middle of Downtown of Austin. Those desserts are peace of art, so delicious. On picture first cheese cake with cream brûlée on the top and chocolate cake.Recommend to visit this place.

Excellent birthday dinner with my bride at the Capital Grille in Austin last week, starting with Steak Tartare and Prosciutto-Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripe Tomatoes, then a TEN ounce filet mignon Steak Au Poivre (my favorite) and my wifes Bone-In Dry Aged NY Strip. All perfectly cooked the way we like. I cannot even begin to describe the incredible flavors and rich textures of this meal.... so thankful! The staff were excellent and Im sorry I forgot our waiters name because he was just the best.

Weve been twice and it is not up to par. The steaks at both visits were over cooked. We ordered medium and the steaks came out medium well/well. They cannot get is right. Also, their Caesar salad is made with iceberg lettuce and not romaine as ALL Caesar salads are made.

Truly great experience dining at The Capital Grille. Our server, Rodney, was exceptional - just truly knowledgeable in terms of menu offerings while staying on top of our needs and wants throughout the evening with a perfect temperament to match. Even if the food was terrible (note: it was great) the service was so great that I still would have given the experience itself a 5-star rating.

Our experience started a little awkward, as no one greeted us for 30 minutes after we were sat. But once the mngr Realized what happened, our service and attention was impeccable. The food here was absolutely on point and fantastic in every way. The jumbo lump crab Appetizer was very refreshing. The dry aged new york strip Was bursting with flavor. The philammon yawn was battery tender and cooked to perfection. At the end of the meal, they told us it was on the house... we were stunned. They made sure our experience was amazing.

Service was excellent and the wine selection was very nice. The atmosphere was a little staged but still very nice. The steak was of great quality and perfectly prepared and the wine was very tasty. I also highly recommend the cream corn with bacon but wish the bacon would have been diced into smaller pieces, but still a very good flavor. The truffle fries were also crisp and tasty but could have used a nice garlic aioli to accompany them but the au gratin potatoes were over done and over salted possibly left in the broiler too long.

Always enjoy coming to Capital Grille when the opportunity arises. Food is fantastic and the wait staff is always engaging to contribute to the experience; not simply asking if we need a refill or thinking about dessert. Obviously a bit pricey, so this isnt a location where I frequently can be found, but for special occasions, I would always recommend it for a nice date out, business dinner, etc.

Yesterday, heavy rain in Austin led us to seek refuge in a nearby bar while hunting for a satisfying BBQ joint. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a charming, slightly upscale restaurant nearby. Serendipitously, we encountered a fellow countrywoman at the reception who warmly welcomed us and escorted us to our table. She graciously engaged us in conversation and treated us to complimentary wine, while also recommending must-try dishes. We began with the South African lobster tail, delighting in its perfectly cooked meat and buttery sauce, which paired impeccably with our wine selection. As an avid oyster enthusiast, I couldnt resist ordering half a dozen, savoring their briny sweetness. Although the tuna tartare was fresh, it lacked the flavor punch I anticipated, though still enjoyable. Our meal concluded with lamb chops accompanied by Brussels sprouts cooked with bacon bits. While the sprouts were overly sweet for my taste, the lamb chops suffered from slight overcooking, possibly due to their thin cut, diminishing the meats inherent sweetness during grilling. Great service and attentive!

First of all, let me start by saying you can go to texas roadhouse and the food would be so much better than here. I asked for pasta they served me some cold disgusting unappetizing pasta. Food took forever - for it to come out tasting cold, and uncooked. I asked for medium well steak they served me raw steak. You had one job Honestly, you re better off taking your business elsewhere . The waitress wasn t attentive either. When I asked the manager why they don t have broccoli he told me why would capital Grille have broccoli what there are so many other restaurants in downtown Austin, and this one isn t worth it, if you re visiting or celebrating an occasion, I recommend you to take your business elsewhere. Maybe J Prime , or some other steakhouse .

Place is pretty good. I normally goto Eddie V s but I was super impressed. Good was good. Ribeye with balsamic glaze done pitsburg was super tender and flavorful. Cream of spinach, lobster Mac, mash potato s, potato s Au Gratin were all good. I still think eddy V s waiters are more on point and professional. Capital is definitely going to be visited quite often.

If I could give 0 stars I would this restaurant denied my family and I for being color skin on 1/28 /2024 when we walk in to the restaurant I politely ask for a table of 6 and the two ladies that were in front counter looked at us in a racist way and denied us the table soon after another group of Americans walk in and ask for a table of 8 the counter lady ask did you have reservation, wich the party answer was (No ) soon after the lady on counter response wass give us 5 to 10 minutes to get your table ready, after that situation I felt so uncomfortable and disrespect when I tried to go ask the to ladies at counter another Yung guy came up to us and gave me a free fried calamari and told me to come back A month later. Its was my 1st time here. I celebrated my anniversary, and it was great. Our server, Audrey, was amazing and spot on with her recommendations. Theres so much we wanted to try, but well be back. The food was good, but with great service, the experience was stellar. The table was decorated and had a card. We also got a special dessert and souvenir photo as a keepsake. This is our favorite restaurant to take visiting friends and family to. We rat here for Thanksgiving or Christmas and Mothers Day. The menu is always robust, with seasonal specials and permanent favorites. I enjoy the shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, wedge salad, and cheesecake or coconut cream pie. They have a great bar with seasonal cocktails and a superb wine list. Kid-friendliness: They offer puzzles, books, and small activities for kiddos and provide highchairs upon request.

The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us promptly. The beginning of service wasn t so bad. Server took our order for apps, salads and entree s. After apps arrived that s when it all went down hill. We had to wait a long time for drink refills. Not usually a big deal but we are talking 10/15 minutes multiple times. Food was only ok for the price. Sides required some flavor and not worth the price. Steaks were nothing special but the apps were wonderful. We had the oysters, prosciutto mozzarella, and the lump crab. Everything else was subpar. When the evening was winding down we asked our server for a refill of our drinks again, and he never brought them, so we asked him again, and he went missing. We waited a very long time for our check because our server once again was no where to be found. The restaurant wasn t crowded (maybe 6 tables seated and no one stopped at our table to see if we were being taken care of. The manager, a busser, and bartender glanced at our messy table, and empty cocktails and sodas and kept walking right by without a word to us. The price we paid for our meal would have been completely fine if we got the experience and taste we were paying for. I won t be back and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The service was impeccable, as was the food. My reasoning behind the 4 star review is because the handicap access to the elevator was awful! It smelled like a urinal! Also there were homeless people in front of the entrance. One actually was sitting on the bench right next to the valet booth. This was the PERFECT restaurant for my husbands birthday. We had the lamb chops. Honey, they are absolutely DELICIOUS. We cook lamb at home often and have tried them other places, but these were ELITE. Our waiter was very bubbly, friendly, and professional. We ate outside on the patio. Not worth the money. My table tried a wide variety of dishes (2 starters, 5 entrees, and 3 desserts), and nothing blew me away. In fact, many of the dishes were pretty bland. For how much we spent, I expected to have - at minimum - an above average meal. I was disappointed when this was not the case. The only menu items I truly enjoyed were the lobster mac & cheese and the coconut cream pie. On the plus side, the servers were all very attentive and nice. It s clear this restaurant caters to older men based on the clientele, hunting decor, and obscenely large portraits of old men. Nothing wrong with that if that s the vibe you re looking for. But I prefer a modern and inclusive atmosphere, hold the testosterone.

Roasted wild mushroom, maybe with less rosemary flavor would be better. Great combination between cheesecake and Crème brûlée. I went here for my birthday dinner 29 September my husband surprised me.. Valet parking absolutely great. No wait time I was wished Happy Birthday, by host servers and anyone who walked passed. The table had very nice birthday decoration. We had Maya csn I say she was absolutely amazing loved her professionalism, smile and sweet demeanor. We were giving a celebratory champagne which was really good and later on a pineapple 10 day aged shot. We ordered dry aged ribeye, mash potatoes and asparagus really good and very hot.. I m not sure what has changed here but this is NOT the Capital Grille we have visited before. From the moment we were seated and the table literally dropped on my toe and the hostess didn t say a word to leaving and fighting for a bathroom sink from a gal who had her entire rear end in the sink to take mirror selfies, we were beyond disappointed. It s a shame because the food is still pretty good - but the atmosphere has gone so far down hill. We ordered the wine sampling tonight and they ran out of one of the wines. We were told we could have any do the wines a second time - but couldn t try something else nor were we offered a discount. We ve dined here many times before and always felt it was far better than this. We joked and wondered if they had recently released a coupon we didn t know about to bring in a very different crowd. When @ss selfies become something you have to deal with in the restroom, it is NOT the same restaurant it once was. Very disappointed. Won t return.

My first time trying out The Capital Grille and I just have to say its a very high end steakhouse thats dry ages their own meat in house. I went with the 16oz New York Strip and a side of au gratin potatoes. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was perfect. It literally was melting in my mouth. Just know that if you plan on going be ready to spend at least $100 per person but it will be worth it.

I took my wife here for our first anniversary. And let me say, these folks were top notch!! I informed them it was our anniversary before we got there, we showed up a bit early and got a table right away! Everyone was super friendly, and even helpful as we had never eaten anywhere quite that fancy! But they took us in and made our night absolutely special for us! There is paid parking across the street, and they do have vallet service. And their steaks were easily the best we have had.

Had reservations that we changed numerous times for a Sunday evening and they accommodated this with ease. I believe our servers name was Robert and he took amazing care of us. Attentive but without being too over the top. The food was really good. Started with the clam chowder and it was good, but wouldnt order that again. Our steaks were a perfect rare and medium rare and the sides that we selected were just enough for two people. We had the crème brulée for dessert. Overall, a great meal.

I have to say my experience was definitely just that. An EXPERIENCE! And every one who is any one should try it. The staff was out standing from valet to the water man. My husband and I went here for the first time to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I loved they had a dress code. It gave us the opportunity to dress up without out feeling over dressed. The restaurant had simply and sweetly decorated our table in anticipation of our arrival. Our server was outstanding. Professional but friendly and helpful in picking our meals and my cocktail. After our meal, he presented us with two delicious desserts and champagne for our toast. But our meal! We must have spent the following two days talking about our steaks with each other and anyone else who would stand stand still long enough. And my husband, a loyal mushroom hater, couldnt stop raving about how much he loved the mushrooms with his meal. We had a fantastic experience here and it was worth every penny.

Wow! One of the most outstanding meals in a restaurant I ve ever had! No kidding! Ty our waiter was extremely helpful, personable, and efficient. I had sliced filet mignon with cipollini onions, wild mushrooms, and fig essence for $55. The steak was perfectly done and delicious. I highly recommend it! Hubby had the roasted chicken breast with mushrooms and Parmesan risotto that was amazing for $36. Also, highly recommend this! We shared 1/2 order of mashed potatoes for $7, and 1/2 order of asparagus for $7. A 1/2 order was more than enough for 2 people. If you re looking for a special place to go with quality delicious food then this is the place. I made a reservation online 40 minutes before we arrived in the bar because the restaurant was full. We had our own table in the bar and it felt just like being in the restaurant. If you go I guarantee you won t be disappointed!
