I would put in in spanish and in english. This was my first experience in USA with a legal dispute and Mat was pretty open to help at the beginning, giving clear advice in our initial conversation about what to do, claiming that this would be an easy case to deal with etc. He was answering my text messages and also helping me out with the setup of the payment. Once he got the payment, he never answered my back again by text message and he distributed this case to another partnered firm, without any notification or conversation. Several times I expressed my disagreement with the new law firm and he never responded. You would pay the retainer and you will be ghosted. If you really want your case to take forever, not attended, without communication, just to pay money to fund this guy, please go ahead with Mat law firm. Mat is your best fit. If you want something else, run away This has been my first experience in the USA. This guy was open to helping from the beginning, noting that he believed it would be easy and fast. He was communicative and helped me with my answers before I paid him. When I pay the retainer, I stop answering and send the case to another law firm. He never responded again or took any responsibility for the case. If what you want is to pay lost money, finance this law firm and have your case not resolved, this is your best option. If what you are looking for is the opposite, run away! Even if you speak Spanish, if you dont speak anything or communicate, what good is any language?

For me it was good to find someone bilingual, since my ex-husband and I could understand him clearly without either of us being confused. Attorney Matt always kept me up to date on my case and if you contacted him, and one of us was busy for something, he always returned your call, voicemail or text message, and by email that same day. We called Mat when we got served on a Friday afternoon. We were panicked and left a message for him. He called back almost immediately and guided us through everything. We had to pay one price and he told us he would take care of everything with that all inclusive fee. He guided us through the whole process and put us at ease throughout the whole thing. He communicated quickly and effectively when we had any questions and was able to save us from a few issues we would have had if we hadn t hired him. With a prompt return call - we talked about my CS case and it was very informative. Much appreciated sir. 2/20/24 - The consummate professional today at court in Bastrop, TX. Mat battled 1.5hrs with an Attorney General representative and my Exs Attorney. I provided 7yrs worth of extra payments (outside CS) to my Ex via Zelle and had documentation for all of it, so Mat could debate hard, and the extra efforts paid off. A credit was offered, which counted and decreased my CS across what is left for the 1.5yrs of the order. What a great job Mat did today, and forever in gratitude to this professional. In regards to the reviews, I guess to each their own. Working with Mat was kind of like a bait and switch situation for me during a child support and custody case. I was inexperienced and had no clue in how these proceedings worked and I feel he definitely used that lack of knowledge to his advantage. I took out a loan to pay for his services based on initial conversations of what he could accomplish, during a time I was financially struggling to make ends meet. The easiest $4500 he made, given he did the bare minimum which explains why he charges a flat fee. There was consultation prior to hiring him but no initiation meeting set up after and at anytime during to discuss my wants in regards to the best interest of my child. Attempts for a zoom meeting were shot down and he always opted for a phone call instead (a total of two maybe three throughout the whole process). Trying to get clear clarification from him on what was going to happen or what steps he was going to take prior to hearings always ended up in conflict, because he listened to respond rather than to understand and I was always left feeling unsure and scared. During what was supposed to be my temporary orders hearing he blatantly dismissed my concerns and wants, did nothing of what he said he was going to do initially and put a focus on certain items that were least on my priority list. None of the discussions with the father were done in the same room with me and he set up arrangements with just the father rather than the both of us. He made it seem as though going before a judge if I didn t agree to what he had set up would make matters worse for me and thus I felt coerced to sign a final order. Afterwards, once able to read the order with a clear head, no distractions and without complications with docusign I realized that I was not ok with the order and expressed that to him. He then said I could appeal it and I would have to find new counsel for a Denovo hearing knowing I didn t have the money to do so. All that to say, it s good to talk to a lawyer to know your rights and what can be done but in this case I would have been better off representing myself.

Excellent lawyer, today I finally finished the child support case, it was a very long case and even more so with COVID 2020. The same initial price was maintained despite the time and several cutting sessions. In each of the sessions we had, the lawyer was always in the best disposition, in court he looked confident in himself, it is clear that he has all the experience and knowledge. Good at responding in defense and with character. My case did not look good at all, and I managed to get everything to work out in my favor. I always personally answer calls and messages. I didnt hire this attorney, but I wish I had. In retrospect, I really just needed one hearing, and everything would have been totally fine. Instead I went with a horrible lawyer - who will go unnamed - and who sold me up the river for basically nothing, ruined my relationship with my child and and the better part of a decade of my life. The worst experience would have been better if I had represented myself alone, he charged me 10,000 dollars of which I only gave him 5,000 dollars, he only went to court once, then I ended up in a mediation where in the mediation, ridiculously, in his office he was representing me and the other lawyer plus the mediator. They did nothing at any time, they made a representation plan, they never asked my ex for documents such as assets to have a good defense strategy. I feel like I was scammed that day of the mediation by two lawyers for a mediation, I feel like they were just there wasting hours to justify that there were no more 5000 dollars. Furthermore, all those good reviews are false, even if you pay the companies to write them, dont believe them, I got carried away by their 5 stars and I regret it a thousand times. Look for any other lawyer, they will remember what I tell you. P.S. Lawyer Rueda I will only tell you in this life everything is paid for, the good and bad that you do, you do not know the sacrifices we make to raise the money and we go with the hope that you will help us, the fact that I am an immigrant and that I do not speak English does not mean that People like you who pay you for a service take advantage.
