Coming in at 3 stars, averaging several experiences with this law firm. We did our estate plan/trust with Mike in 2021 and all went well. We felt Mike spent ample time with us, proposing options where appropriate. We enjoyed and valued our interactions with him. We updated in mid-2024 with less favorable experience. In this instance, Stephanie Long handled our update. She was not at all intuitive at understanding our needs. Interactions were strained - maybe shes just not a people person. Unfortunate, since this was a really easy update - the equivalent of a layup for an estate planning attorney. We were not happy with the final product but ultimately gave up dealing with her. Well definitely move on to another firm for the next version. Having said that, if you can do the estate plan with Mike, all should go well.

My husband and I are very pleased with Mike Massey Law for estate planning. I did a lot of research on law firms that handled this issue. We selected Mike Massey Law because of the following components: 1) We received preliminary introductory material that explained the ins and outs of estate planning even before I made any appointments; 2) Simple three-step process for putting together our personal estate plan; 3) Detailed description of what could be included in our plan along with pricing options; 4) Detailed questionnaire that includes some hard questions my husband and I NEEDED to discuss before we could move on with the process; 5) Easy online scheduling; 6) Initial meeting to see if were a good fit and its free of charge. By the time we completed the process, Mike Massey Law earned this 5-star review for two reasons. First, Stephanie Long, our assigned attorney, is extremely knowledgeable and she is an excellent communicator. She welcomed any and all questions as we moved through the process, making sure we felt comfortable and secure with the decisions we made. Finally, Stephanie, Carel (witness) and Melissa (notary public) run a very well-organized signing process. This is worth six stars! After all signatures were in place, our hard copies were given to us in a binder complete with table of contents and a multitude of support materials. In addition, Stephanie reviewed with us all additional steps we need to take to formalize our documents with government entities. I cant emphasize enough just how important this was for me. Getting our estate plan into place is a huge accomplishment for us and we did NOT want to drop the ball by forgetting to get documents recorded and/or processed accurately. This attentive signing team inserted stuffed, stamped, addressed envelopes in the pocket of the binder, along with written instructions, to make sure we didnt drop that ball.

Five stars with all other reviews! Im not a rich person, but did suffer a series of tragic family losses in my past that made estate planning very important to me, as a mother of only one child. First Attorney Massey then Stephanie Long provided excellent counsel, confidence, and guidance for what I needed to achieve. It would have taken no time had I had the fee to drop immediately. But, I didnt and they were patient and allowed me to take the time I needed to take to get everything I needed, without making me feel poor (lol). Estate planning is an emotional process but Im happy I did it with them. Even the office was comforting (I was in the Grace Lane office--fitting, right?). I cant recommend this firm enough. He immediately concluded that the revokable trust we had did not need re-doing (saving us a great deal of money, I m sure). We needed to update our wills and other estate documents. We were easily able to book an appointment and met with Mike for our initial meeting. Mike took the time to go over all considerations for our estate, powers of attorney, and medical directives. We followed up with Stephanie Long, who drafted new and updated documents. She took the time to review all of her drafts and amend as necessary. Several days later Stephanie had the final drafts ready for signing. To say this process was organized and efficient doesnt do justice. Stephanie had all of the forms laid out ready to look over and sign, and Melissa the staff notary was also present. All documents were signed, witnessed and notarized on the spot. We were presented with a beautifully organized binder containing all our executed documents, guides and FAQs. Updating my will was a project I had postponed for years and to make the situation even more complicated, I was advised by friends to use a trust instead. Mike Massey explained the concepts and processes very clearly and also gave me ample documentation as a backup. Within a few days, I received the required Trust documents and instructions and an appointment to review and sign. Months later, I wanted to make some amendments and had an instructive Estate Planning Meeting with Stephanie Long online which was followed up by an office visit to discuss, review and sign the new version; there were also witnesses present to add their signatures. To begin at the end of our process with Estate Planning and Mike Massey Law, the signing of the documents was infinitely more palatable than the last time we made and signed Wills in a cold corporate setting. The atmosphere of Massey Law in a charming little house in the hills with an intimate feeling, certainly helped with this weighty task of confronting ones mortality and legacy put into legal terms. But we were fairly well prepared by the two discussions online with a lawyer (employee), the documents we could review online, and Mr. Masseys problem solving abilities. Unlike the previous Estate Planning experience where we paid by the minute, Mike Massey offers a range of flat fees spelled out on a list you are supplied. It is so important to prepare your heirs and your bequests as well as all the various and sundry details of your life someone will have to wrap up. We were given a large binder with, in addition to the documents, instructions and tips, which given that we have set up a Trust, are very helpful. (The documents are also online encrypted).Two emails I needed to send the firm for clarification on my part were answered immediately and set my understanding straight. I recommend Mike Massey Law.

I was in search for a probate attorney in Austin. Through the reference of my Accountant I contacted two attorneys. I was not satisfied. I searched on the web and found Mike Masse Law Firm [MML]. Going through their website I found MML is well organized and up-to-date in IT technology but I wanted to check on their capability and efficiency as a Law Firm. I spoke to Mike and found they are very strong in their profession and transparent in their reasonable fee structure. Mike explained about the advantage of Transfer on Death document that does not require one to go to the court that would have otherwise required court appearance even in the presence of a WILL. I settle on three documents, namely, WILL by two of us, husband and wife, Medical Power of attorney and Transfer on Death. The Law Firm gave us opportunities to review the draft of the documents and give them feedback, have a review meeting on Zoom and explain to my daughter and wife through a separate Zoom meeting. Finally they prepared the final version for signature. They ran through to explain one more time what is in the documents and drawn sketch to clarify the chain of transfers based on contingency. Many legal terms were explained distinctly. At the end, I was not just happy but delighted on the outcome. Without any trace of hesitation, I will recommend to anyone to go to MML on probate needs. Quality, price, satisfaction and courtesy are beyond expectation.

Unfortunately, a family illness drove us to think about our estate planning. A search on Google led us to Mike Massey and team. They were great, very professional, very easy and incredibly thorough. We updated from 2008, and we searched locally. Their price was more competitive, and their service was impeccable. Great people, Awesome service-- and BETTER than advertised.

Mike Massey Law was great to work with! They have a system in place for securing and executing your estate plan quickly and efficiently. Plan on clearing your calendar for a week or two while you gather information and make difficult decisions, and let Mike Massey Law do the rest. If you have questions, just ask. Mike is able to answer quickly and make any necessary adjustments to your documents. He is very responsive, professional, and down-to-earth. Everyone at the office was wonderful and Covid-sensitive. They provide both hardcopies and e-copies for your convenience, as well as instructions for titling assets and future assets, etc. They also provide a suggested timeframe for checking in (free) to evaluate your situation and any applicable law changes. Take away - just get this done already! The cost will go up some with necessary things like guardianship paperwork, but it is so important to have this done, and to have it done by someone you can trust to cover every eventuality.
