I used to come here years ago before new location. It s just as fun as it used to be. Should have come back sooner. It was awesome to see people of all ages swing dancing. A real passion and appreciation for the dance. The music was awesome too. We danced and had fun! I wanted to come back for 90 s event but couldn t. This is a gem and will come back sooner.

For my first time to attend a live performance, unfortunately I had to leave early because the sound was just too loud. It was a shame because I was very much enjoying but between that and my desire for affordable vegetarian options I felt obligated to leave. Other than that, I would definitely try coming back here again because of the free parking.

Ive never heard of The Highball, but I googled karaoke near me and found this place, and it was so much fun! We celebrated my husbands bday here! Best of all, our host/ server, West, was very accommodating and took very good care of us. To sum it up, West was awesome and made it such a memorable night for us! It is basically impossible to get them on the phone and reserve a room. I called and their VM was full I even messaged them on social media. Eventually after waiting on hold forever through the Alamo Draft house we were able to reserve the weird circus room. Id recommend redesigning that room and getting rid of the creepy cow with no ears and predator eyes. The microphones were WAY too quiet, especially because the background music would go full blast every song no matter how much we turned it down so we could actually hear the singer. The drinks and our server were great.

This bar is connected to Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. Its a good place to relax before a movie. The liquor is good quality, and Ive received good service at the bar. They have live music at times. I enjoyed it the last time I was there. They have karaoke there as well, but I cant comment on it. Please note, the liquor quality here is nice, too, so the drinks I ordered were $15 each. This isnt a cheap 6th Street bar.

Absolutely sick place. We went to have a fun karaoke experience, but the only room was covered in satan details. A total demonic church. Detailed with a pentagram on the floor and a goat skull in a glass enclosure, and designed like a church. Totally sick. If you are a Christ follower do not spend money at this bar.

The music, the service and the sound. WoW such an Amazing experience. We caught an Awesome show from a 90s cover band, (Zoodust) and they rocked all night. The sound was so well done I could sing along from anywhere in the venue. Hats off to (Steve) the sound guy. Hes so talented. Needless to say, it was a great night and one i would like repeating.

The rooms are top notch, new software is convenient with some minor hiccups, wish the song list was a bit more extensive, and I m still not sure why they aren t taking advance reservations, but the experience itself is one of the best private rooms for karaoke you can get in Austin.

Our group did karaoke at the High Ball for a bachelorette party. We had a waiter named Ben who took great care of us. He was friendly, attentive, funny, and did a great job of teaching us how to use the karaoke program. The facility was nice and clean. We had the best time. I would recommend the High Ball to anyone wanting to do a karaoke party!

The free shows at the Highball are being overrun by people. The dance floor is flooded with people standing with cups of water in their hands. Those who want to dance can not. The karaoke song list is superbly lame. The software is substandard. There was absolutely no one else there, and no rooms reserved, but we werent allowed to get a slightly bigger room for our group of 4. The server went over all the items on the food menu that WERENT available, which was about half the menu. We were forgotten about which did give us an additional 20 minutes or so to sing....but none of the songs we wanted were available.

Important heads up: Highball isnt doing F&B for events and arent planning to have that up and running in the next 6 months or more. Still a great place for a cocktail before your movie, but we had been looking at hosting an event there but the only way they can do food is via individual menu orders placed at the bar. Putting this up here because I hadnt seen any info about this limitation when I was doing research and want to save folks some time! We were planning an event for March and our contact said that even in the next 6 months there is no expectation to have any event food options ready to go. I hope that changes at some point! Highball was such a great venue for corporate events and parties.

I have given them a five star before but after the experience I had I have to re-review them - sadly. I have gone dancing there since long before the remodel. I almost always dance alone. I was dancing Swing at the Copa Kings and had several men back into, step on, and throw their partners into me. How do I know they were doing it on purpose? Because one of the guys from the group got right in my face and said I needed to get a man to dance with or to get my *ss in the corner to dance by myself or he was going to knock my *ss to the ground. Another of the group came up and yelled at me how much room do you need to dance anyway? I retorted, More than you would give me. I have an extensive dance background and a lot of training. I do not drink, I am very conscious of the people around me and on the rare occasion I do accidently knock someone I always apologize as I have respect for dance. I brought management right in front of the horrible guy who started cursing me out right in front of the manager. The band had also seen what he did and told me so. Even with all that, the manager would not ask him to leave. If it takes someone actually hitting someone for them to take action, I am warning them - if a physical altercation ever happens, I will sue and prosecute both the patron and the venue. There is no excuse for not supporting someone trying to de-escalate a situation. I was uncomfortable the whole time and why should I leave? I wasnt the one making poor choices.

We came here on May 4th for a Star Wars event. Never had been inside. I liked the decoration and the way the stage is set up. We came with the kids right before bedtime in their pajamas. They got to see several star wars characters. Didnt get to try the foods or the drinks but decently will come back one day. There was only one bar tender, and theyre was a line to get drinks. It is understandable since it was a weekday

I love going here for my birthday every year and other special occasions. The Karaoke rooms are nice and the quality of the songs are usually pretty good. From time to time I have seen an incorrect lyric here or there, but its not common. The system they use is very easy for searching songs (and they have an app so you can pre-plan), and I love their set up for ordering. If I had any complaints, it would be the door opening can sometimes shock people moving around/singing in the smaller rooms. And, while the selection is HUGE, theres definitely some more common (totally my opinion, not fact) songs that Im surprised dont show up. I have never fully attended the main events they have, but while waiting for my room slot and after the reservation Ive hung out and had a blast - even if only for 10 minutes while waiting for a ride.

Pretty cool place that hosts fun events almost every night of the week. Swing dancing on Thursdays is fun. Tuesday adult bingo was certainly entertaining
