Enjoyed our time at the brewery. The vibe is straight up Austin, laid back and relaxed. They have a large patio with shade and the beers were great. Liquid TV IPA and their sours were very good on a extra hot day after swimming at Barton springs. It is very close by if youre looking for something do to afterwards and the food was actually not bad. The choriburger was to die for. Maybe till come and try their brunch next time. Parking: Parking is across the street, we went on a slow Sunday afternoon and it is shared with their sister business next door.

One of my go to spots. Staff is super friendly but management is pinching pennies and decided to be the only brewery in town that doesn t allow you to taste a splash of beer before you order. Could ve been 5 stars but I m not going to pay for 4oz of a beer I don t like just to try it

We visited on a Tuesday and it is a nice place. It is a little pricey for the beer. Unlike other places, they do not let you try a sample of a beer. Therefore, money wasted if you dont like what you selected. We have visited many breweries on our road trip and this was a first that did not let you sample a beer before purchasing.

I got a 4pack of that to take home to Orlando. Vegetarian options: Not only do they have Beyond burgers on the menu for vegetarians, they have vegan queso. Im not vegan, but my friend made me try it, and it was surprisingly good. So not only can you enjoy delicious beers here, you can fill up on good food no matter what your diet.

Hold Out is a nice place to hang out with and enjoy a pretty decent bite to eat. The staff is great and very friendly. The restrooms were very clean. Each time I ve been I ve had a burger and/or wings. All well prepped and flavorful. I m a little concerned about where the wings are sourced because they re pretty large in my opinion. Also the menu is a la carte so don t expect fries to automatically be added to your sandwich orders. *Be warned, it s pet friendly, so if that s a deal breaker for you stay away from this place. They have 3 tiers of seating (outside, covered and indoor) where pet owners can be outdoors but that still doesn t stop them from bringing them indoors to order even though QR codes are available on the tables. For the most part pets are managed fairly well by their owners.

One of the best breweries in ATX and, indeed, the state. Their beer is consistently the best I ve had, and the staff and service are stellar as well. What s more, their food is the bomb, too. This place is a bit unreasonable cost wise. Their beers were just fine and lean into the $8 pints. Then the burger is good, but fries are separate and almost the same cost as the single burger. Id much rather hit any of Austin other well rated burgers and breweries which havent gone up to these prices.

I love a craft brewery that takes their craft to heart. Hold Out had 17 beers on tap the day I visited, ranging from lagers and pilsners to ESB, märzen, stout, several ales, a complete slate of IPAs, and one that defies being shoved into just one category. They also have a sense of humor, with their House Beer answering the regular question craft brewers get from newbies who stumble in, Whataya have that s light? I do believe we ve all heard that a few dozen times, and I cringe every time I hear it. How could anyone not have at least sampled some craft beer by now? But I digress. Since Hold Out doesn t have a fancy (or non-fancy) flight tray, they re more than happy to serve as many 5-ounce tasters as you like and line em up on the bar. I went full-on IPA: **Better Western, a west coast IPA (7% ABV) **Koala Takedown, a New Austra-Zealand Juicy IPA (6.5% ABV) **Kokua, a session ale (4.2% ABV) **Bent Wookie, a DDH DIPA (double-dry-hopped double IPA; 8% ABV) For food I went with the veggie burger, a Beyond patty that they prepare smash-burger style on and place on a tasty sesame seed bun. Fries rounded out the presentation. Once those samplers were empty, I ordered a p[int of Liquid Television, a hazy IPA (6.1%). I ve had this one 500 miles away in far northwest Texas, and love it. All told, I give 5 out of 5 stars on each of the brews I quaffed, each solid entrants in their respective sub-categories of IPAs. It s rare to find a brewery that can do so well in every one it brews; often, a brewery will miss the mark on one or two, although they felt compelled to flex and show their brewing chops. Hold Out did it with aplomb. A little note about Google Maps driving direction, especially if you are coming westbound on 6th Street: GMaps will correctly instruct you to turn left (south) on Marsh, but then it will say to turn left on 5th, and right on Marsh (again). What it meant to say was to just continue straight through a slight wiggle in Marsh as it crosses 5th. Then proceed one block and right on 4th, where you ll feel like you ve gone into a dead end. Parking is on the left, brewery on the right. Vegetarian options: The veggie burger was great! Limited options for vegans and vegetarians, but sufficient. Parking: Huge parking lot across from brewery. Street parking nearby is competitive sport.

We had also asked a couple of servers for an update on the food and they didn t return to the table with any update. After reapproaching the bar we found the food order only went through to the kitchen after we closed out the tab. Sat there for a solid hour and left without eating. Would not recommend.

Decent beer selection. The food was really good. The peanut Thai chicken wings were fantastic. I ll be back to dive a little deeper into their beer selection. Overall great vibe and atmosphere. Dog friendly outside.

Great place to try some IPAs, ciders and great tasting beer. Food is good and very reasonably priced. Chicken burger is a bit oily and fries were okay! Service was fast and polite. Plenty of outdoor seating available. Parking is a highlight as plenty of it available in front as well as behind the brewery. Next door to better half coffee shop. Shared parking so you ll definitely find a spot even on busy weekends. Overall a decent experience. Vegetarian options: Beyond meat burgers available. Parking: Big parking lot behind the brewery. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available too.

Plenty of options. Thought I got a normal sangria but it was mixed with some rosemary and I wasn t a fan. We also got one of their frozen drinks. It was ok. Tons of people, plenty of seating indoors and out. Great spot to meet up with tons of people. Next time we will order beer and hopefully have a better time.

Great place to watch UT football games - they have giant outdoor screen and covered patio. They also sell half pints of beer (as well as full pints), and cider for the gluten free people. The Thai pb+j wings go hard. Dietary restrictions: Cider for gluten free people.

We had a few beers and fries for carbs, fries were great, beer was cold and good. A bit crowded inside for shade and AC, but we were ok. See ya soon, cheers ! Parking: Parking is tight, but its like that all over when close to downtown.

I recently went to Hold Out Brewing during happy hour and had their $6.50 Sangria. One of the conveniences was the easy parking situation, which can be a rarity in Austin. And while the place was packed, I was pleasantly surprised that the wait for ordering was relatively short, a testament to their efficient service. Overall, a fantastic happy hour experience with great drinks and convenience.
