The best place to relax after a stressful day! Its tucked away from the busy street, and the inside had a wonderful atmosphere. I got their Overboard cocktail and had to get a second glass right after. Would love to come here again! Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is not wheelchair accessible. It is too narrow for larger mobility aids unfortunately.

Tucked away in a quiet shopping center you will find this hidden bar. Be sure to ring the bell up on arrival should the door be locked. This chilled atmosphere is pet friendly and offers a patio for your fur animals or smoke breaks. The small staff are warm and friendly making this spot a true hospitality hit in North Austin. We highly recommend having the staff create a cocktail to your liking or try a few favorite recommendations. So if youre looking to catch up with friends or needing a night cap, Prohibition will not disappoint. Looking forward to visiting again while soaking up the view of talented piano performers.

I swear I couldnt taste any bourbon at all in my bourbon & coke. Maybe it was just a fluke, but I had just come from Parmer Lane Tavern, where the drinks were twice as good and cost less than half as much. Your mileage, of course, may vary.

Went in and decor was a little all over the place but we were excited to give it a chance. Got our drinks and sat down. Floor and tables were sticky in spots. My drink was alright, nothing special, but my partner s drink was too sweet. So she went to request another. He proceeded to question what was wrong with it and when she said it was too sweet he grabbed a straw, took some, and tried it and lo and behold he agreed. He sort of stared whilst offering no solutions until she asked if it could be made less sweet. He remade the drink less sweet and had her try it in front of him and then lectured that next time she should specify the level of sweetness she wanted and that he was helping her for the future like she needed advice ordering at a bar and that it was presumptuous to assume a signature drink would have a reasonable level of sweetness. We promptly left after paying our $35 for two mediocre at best drinks.

Didn t like my drink, asked to have my drink remade or a different drink because it was too sweet. Bartender tried the drink (with a straw, but that s still weird) then remade the drink and of course it was still too sweet lol. I said it s fine and then he lectured me about how if I know I don t like sweet drinks I need to learn to ask for drinks less sweet in the first place. It came across as very condescending so booo to him. The tables were sticky, the floor was sticky, and the water station was empty the whole time we were there. 2 drinks = $35 which is crazy! Just go to a speakeasy downtown instead and you ll find better drinks and a better atmosphere.

Inconsistent recipes and subpar service. We ordered two pursuits of happiness first and they were good, average, but good. After we ordered another and it was completely different in smell and taste. It smelled like a fire pit, not a good smoke smell, and tasted terrible, nothing like the first two. We checked the menu and the drink we ordered does not describe it as containing smoke but another similar one does. My friend went to the bartender to inquire and the she just told her she made it and that it was correct. So my friend came back to the table with the same drink. I said that s not right, we tried it again and it s completely different and smells terrible. I took it to the bar this time and tell them again. Both bartenders come up to me, smell and taste it and continue to argue that it s the drink we ordered. I said to just take it off then because it s not what we ordered or got the first time and we don t like it. Not once did they offer to remake it or replace it with something else. They argued and were frankly very prideful in that they made the right drink. Either our first drink was wrong or the second one was, doesn t matter, I expect better service from an establishment touting itself as an upscale speakeasy. Also their menu is just less creative than the ones downtown. Overall a poor note to end my birthday night and was excited to live down the street from this place but likely won t be coming back.

Do not go here/scam. They made me a $$ cocktail that wasn t drinkable so I politely asked to bartender for another drink but they said they would have to charge, I said no thanks and passed back the full beverage was in front of me. They make another drink regardless and added the charge for the 2 drinks to 2 different cards (which I had to fight with my bank) . Do not go here

It s a cute speakeasy type bar with strong drinks and on the night we went, good live music. There is no sign for it when you pull up, you can find it at the end of the building with the bar and grill. Follow the red lights. It s small but comfortable and the service was good. As of the beginning of July, they no longer allow smoking inside (thankfully).

Bartender was great, and cool vibe. Not too crowded on a weeknight, fun concept of a speakeasy. But drinks are pricey, and worst of all they allow indoor smoking. I reeked of smoke when I got home. Won t be back as long as that s the case. Plenty of smoking and hookah bars (two in this strip mall alone) if that s your thing, but when I got to bars now, I expect them to be smoke-free.

A secret door to enter sets the tone. Wonderfully decorated. There is not a bad seat in this very chill bar. Good selections in your favorite spirit. The service that evening was attentive. Good music. All of our drinks, including specialty drink orders, arrived strong and did not disappoint. I highly recommend wetting your whistle at Prohibition ATX. Your date will likely dig the looks of the place, and she will think you are way cooler for picking this place as a respite from the oppressive heat of summer.

Go to Firehouse where the prices are upfront and theres no hassle to get in.

Prohibition ATX is a hidden gem in N Austin of Anderson Mill. It has been open for about a year now and I m just now hearing about it! Adam, the bartender, did a great job concocting off-menu drinks for us like my mezcal sour (you ll have to ask him what all he put into it); it was called Jazz Hands, I believe. Cool spot behind the bookshelf. It is a cigar lounge as well so the small space can get pretty smoky. I enjoyed my time there and will be back to try something new.

I went on a quiet Sunday night with a friend. The vibe is great from the entrance experience to the cozy lounge feel. Our bartender, Hunter, made excellent drinks and was a wonderful host. Yes, the drinks were a bit pricey, but I had the best Old Fashioned Ive had in this town where many restaurants and bars ruin them in a multitude of ways. The only thing Id change is probably the very bright gaming machines in the back. Didnt quite fit the rest of the vibe, but I get that they bring in money. Still, I think this is my new favorite bar. Too much going on here. We had high hopes for this place since its a speakeasy, but the atmosphere is basically a regular bar with a discreet entrance. We expected a classy atmosphere with quality cocktails. To be honest, the bartender was excellent and the drinks we had were very good, but the cost of the cocktails and the atmosphere do not match up. There are tvs and gaming machines, which ruin the vibe of the whole place. The lighting was also a little too bright over the bar area. I unfortunately will not be recommending to any friends.
