I originally posted this on Austentico review, but i was informed the bar is separate from the food truck. This happened Wednesday night.? The male bartender with a beard who worked the night of 18 Sept 2024 should be fired. He was crude, cruel, cold, callous, unfriendly, unprofessional, etc. I was so excited to try Austhentico. I even walked about 12 blocks to have dinner there. When I walked in, I waited to be seated. The bartender did not welcome me. He said in a snotty rude voice What do you want? May I help you with something, while glaring at me with menacing dismissive eyes. And I said it s just myself. He replied rudely and turned his back to me and said oh okay. And I replied well do I just sit anywhere. Turning his back again and in a hostile voice he replied find a space at the bar somewhere. So I sat at the end of the bar near the door. He did not bring me water which is customary or hand me a menu. Several minutes later he approached me coldly and said in an outrageously rude tone have you decided what you want yet. And I told him I want to eat, you never gave me a menu. He grabbed a foldable thing that had the menu on it, aggressively placed it in front of me, and said in a hostile voice (as if he wanted me gone) use the qr code or go out to the truck to order. He walked a way again and did not even offer to get me a drink. I felt so insulted, unwelcomed, and belittled that I left. Never in my life have I ever been treated so poorly anywhere (and I taught middle school, lol). Fire that bartender!

A must stop for any Belgian beer fan, this cozy place has an incredible selection of Belgian beers, and the management is clearly very knowledgeable and dedicated to quality and atmosphere. The food truck outside is perhaps incongruously Spanish, but its great. So you can have a tortilla clasica while sipping a Saison Dupont and gambas al ajillo with your geuze. Seeking refuge from a heavy downpour, we found ourselves conveniently nestled in this bar. They offered a wide selection of beers on tap, including a delightful dark and sweet variety that I particularly enjoyed. The service was excellent, and the option to bring our own food added to the charm of the place. Seamless payment with receipts sent to my inbox ! Overall, its a lovely spot with friendly service a definite recommendation for anyone passing by.

It was a fun experience! They did have wine for those of you who don t like beer! Wine was good. Their choices in Belgian beer was good and they are served in cool glasses. Lol. Overpriced for what it is. 2 quads were about $30. An okay selection but nothing mind blowing that you can t get elsewhere in my opinion. And there is *only Belgian beer*, nothing else at all, which in and of itself is fine. I like Belgian beer, but with all the reviews I was hoping for some other more obscure options I guess. One person came in asking for something non-Belgian. Which is fairly innocuous but the bartender was condescending towards them. He also was pretty inattentive otherwise. Wouldn t go back in a hurry. that said if you re all about Belgian beer, go for it, hopefully your experience is better than mine.

Stumbled upon this place yesterday and I was instantly transported back to wallonia in Belgium where chimay and other amazing Belgian brews are created. They had everything I would ever want in a Belgian beer bar, majority on draft or cask, and comes out super fresh. Austin, you have a diamond in the rough with this bar - super chill, Belgian ambiance and incredible location! My only request is that they open a sister location in San Antonio!

Great music volume, it s low enough to continue a conversation without feeling awkward but high enough to enjoy it. Lighting is perfect to allow your attention to be on the one you re with. Beautiful bar and setting. Friendly and helpful staff and the food truck in the back is delicious. Get cheese curds! Perfect size venue for intimate setting. I have to start this with I love the beer here. Ive lived in Belgium and finding this place was great. First night everything was fantastic and was even better with the Chamy Red in my glass. The second night it was not quite as good, I ordered the Duvel and the person serving me gave me a glass over 1/2 full of foam. When I asked she told me thats the way it poured. Sorry thats just not right especially with the prices. Ill gladly pay for great beer and did both nights but her answer just wasnt acceptable. But, she did replace that beer with another and we had 2 rounds so at the end it turned out good. She was polite and helpful so I cant complain too much but thats the reason I only rated it as I did. I will go back next time in the area because the beer is that special. and I do recommend especially if you like great beer but be warned.

A good selection of beer, but I was a little disappointed when they couldn t offer a dark beer (porter,stout ). Hence, the 4 stars. But the rest of the place was really good. Another enjoyable return visit. This is the perfect spot to get your Belgian bière fix. Mort Subite offers a very good selection on tap and in bottles, and also includes a few fine beers from local craft breweries. The venue is clean and brite. Bartenders are friendly, prompt, know the beer and serve it properly. If youre not familiar with Belgian beers, this is the place to experience their unique goodness.
