We came here since we couldnt get into the speakeasy next door (we didnt have the code). While I still plan to get into that speakeasy one day, we are glad it led us to discover this place! Our drinks were great and we really enjoyed talking to our Bartender. They also have a great deck with a view, as well as a see-saw!

An absolute blast of a bar to hang. Between the live music on the rooftop or the DJ downstairs, its a total vibe. On top of that, the bartenders are a lot of fun and really try to make sure you get a drink youll like (I loved the Donkey) Especially Scooter and Stace! Just love the energy here.

Great addition to 5th street. There is always a great selection of music playing, people always having fun and the rooftop is perfect to hang out at this time of year. While most bars think they make great craft cocktails in Austin, El Cockfight actually does. They have a stellar selection of mezcal and tequila, and Scooter is always able to create a fantastic cocktail that will have you asking for another round. Highly recommended stop on your night out.

This place is awesome! It s a little bit of old-school Austin and new school Austin and it s the place to check out when coming into town. Scooter The bartender is super nice and very knowledgeable and will make sure you have the best time there! There cocktails are deliciously amazing. No 6$ margarita should be straight up lime juice that sears off your palate and gives heartburn. Unfortunately, that s what we encountered during our last visit. The vibes can be decent here, but can miss a lot at the same time. hey CF owners, small note: fixed stools that are immobile and bolted down are the WORST when you have shoulder-to-shoulder patrons trying to order a drink in an already-narrow downstairs space. There should be NO stools at the bar at all during peak times or busy days, so your customer turn over is quicker thus making more of a profit. frustrating. Also, when you have drinking/specialty days like St. Patrick s day, Cinco de mayo, Margarita Day, BATCH your cocktails. Make margaritas by the batch by the gallons. This will also expedite turn over and create more profit. During special events / drink specials customers just want a drink as fast as they can. They don t care about each individual marg shaken One. At. A. Time. Please take notes on the small details. Makes a world of a difference.

The frozen margaritas on national margarita day gave our group diarrhea and stomach issues, it is so important for these machines to be sanitized on a consistent basis so that people don t get sick. The margaritas tasted good, but something in the process was not sanitary and gave everybody a bug.

We had a Sunday date night, and the ac felt really good inside. Plenty of space, hang out, hide away rooms near the stairs to the rooftop. Theres a bar at top but does not have the full menu. It was a non-issue since there was still plenty to be serviced with. We were the only ones hanging out on the roof, so we had our own bar tender. Night time made it not so hot and pleasant to watch the traffic going the wrong way down 5th Street. That was entertaining.

The staff was inattentive and seemed like they were more interested in flirting with two customers instead of serving the other 10. The only reason we were ever able to get a drink was because a bartender from the roof came down and saw us sitting there. We tried to get the attention of the bartenders several times and were ignored. The theming was fun but the rooftop was kind of lazy. The little seating area on the stairwell up smelled like mildew. The drinks were tiny and over priced.

An over served patron standing outside this bar tripped backwards and hit his head on the curb. He was unconscious and bleeding, unresponsive. A nurse happened to witness and respond. The staff and management refused to give her a towel to stop the bleeding, citing liability because they aren EMTs. When I pressed for a towel, I was told why don t you give her your shirt if you re concerned? This as a man lay dying in the street. I have never seen such a callous and inhumane response to a life or death situation. These folks care more about the unsightly blood stain on their curb than the dying man who left it there.

Large group of 11 went here as the Floppy Disk bar next-door was too full. Drinks were awful and not cheap (thought it was a mixologist place). Everyone got something different from their menu so we could try various drinks but none of them were good. In a city like Austin there are countless better places to spend your time and money. Nice improvement from Handlebar! Downstairs is notably nicer. We were there on day 3 so the staff were still working through some opening kinks (learning the POS and cocktails and such), but service was good. Still one of the best chill rooftops to grab a drink.
