[Edit 9/18/24]- The venue has been remodeled since my original review. The fans are now more functional the way they should so the environment is much more tolerable. Thus, the one star review now a 4 star review. [original review]I think management actually goes out of their way to make the place as hot and uncomfortable as they can when they have bands and a lot of people out on the dance floor sweating their @sses off. They cant turn the ceiling fans up because they are on the dimmer that the (fan) lights are on and they want to keep the lights dimmed. Either put the fans on a different circuit or turn the d@mn AC down! Even the band that played tonight was complaining about how hot it was. And its not even summer yet! We have a large group that gives BS a lot of business, and for them to ignore our requests to do something about this sauna-like atmosphere is totally absurd.

The wait time for everything was way too long when it wasn t that busy. The waitress was not very present. The burger tasted gross, dry and flavorless, and then I got violent food poisoning from it. No wonder it was the only place around with open seating during a Texas football game day.

They have a latin social every first of the month that i just went to for the first time and it was amazing. The staff were constantly on the move helping out customers and were very nice. Also they had a live band playing music till 2am!! The dance floor is also in the top 3 of once Ive danced. The only room for improvement would be better AC!

This is an old austin icon that has been here forever. Food is decent and drinks are solid. The fish and chips are tasty. I preferred the atmosphere before they remodeled and updated the joint. It seems to be pretty quiet during the day but can get busy for dinner and into the evening. Live music here often during the week.

Walked in, place was not busy at all. Bartender wouldnt talk to me. When I asked for the bartenders attention he told me to wait. When the bartender came back 5 minutes later I just told him the name on my pickup order and he got a manager for some reason and acted like he didnt know what i was talking about. Nobody wanted to help me, just got ignored. I did notice that the bartender and all 7 of the patrons were white, so I guess that tells me what kind of place this is. Dont go here unless you look like everybody else inside

Really love going to Baker Street Pub after all these years, although there have been some changes to a lot of the seating, which I miss the booths that they used to have. The service was decent whenever me and my misses and I went there, the big English burger still as tasty as ever. Hopefully, they can consider bringing back booths instead of the OpenTable format.

The food is decent enough but the service is often inadequate, but not at the fault of the serving staff, usually. On two different occasions I have watched full 90+ minute soccer games without spending a single dollar because no one ever took my order. Once I was seated inside, once outside. Management is either unwilling or incapable of staffing the business properly. They do not have a host, so on busy days they have far more customers seated than their servers and kitchen can accommodate. On those same busy days, there are far too few staff working the floor, and its not a one off issue. Ive seen it multiple times. My guess is management either 1) intentionally understaffs to keep labor costs down, 2) cant seem to predict that large numbers of people want to watch international soccer games, or 3) cannot keep enough people hired to fill a schedule. Anyway you spin it, management makes decisions and the staff and customers suffer for it.

Its a nice place with lots of weekly activities to enjoy. It doesnt attract as many problem as other places Ive seen. Dietary restrictions: Many of my friends have dietary restrictions that are not as simple as I cant have meat because I dont want it. Many of their dietary restrictions are medically necessary the Baker Street kitchen has been very accommodating when they can be.

This place is awesome. Specifically this branch in South Austin too. My favorite dishes are usually their fish and chips, tots, mozza sticks, and wagyu burger. Today though, it s $3 special taco Tuesday and decided to adventure into Fried Fish Taco with Serrano Mayo. Oooooooo my new favouriteeeeeee!!! It was the bomb!! For such a reasonable price, the flavors and crunch are !! Definitely coming back for more and highly recommended!!

I went to pick up an Uber Eats for a customer at about 5:30 PM, there was maybe 8 people in the entire bar and the THREE employees for the EIGHT people all looked at me, didnt say a word and just went to back to whatever task they were doing. I stood there long enough for people at the bar to comment to each other are they going to help this guy? Ive been here a few times as a customer, and WILL NEVER BE BACK.

Ive been here before however it was several years ago. Back then place was packed and always had a wait. This night on a Saturday around 8pm it was pretty quiet. The Fish and Chips is probably the star of the menu because it does not disappoint. Sadly we had to cut our dinner short because at 9pm, its 21 and up. But I dont recall seeing this anywhere on the website or doors. Not family friendly after 9pm. *Added Info : We were approached at our table by an employee telling us we had to leave around 9pm because of the 21yr old requirement. So we ate and left.

Decided to try this place for lunch bc I was next door at half priced book. The food was amazing, rarely do I finish my plate without taking food home. My mom has neuropathy. It is severe. Unfortunately she tripped on the non level porch. After the embarrassing event I and my dad helped her up. We sat at the bar and were about to order drinks. Our entire party of 4 was refused service adding to the embarrassment. My mom stated she had neuropathy and the bartender said, my manager stated I cant serve any of you. We passed the manager and we were all visibly upset with my mom now crying. He had no idea what had just happened (so he must not have given the bartender such instructions). He agreed the boards were not even which would make it non compliant with ADA. The manger, after talking to us, determined we were not drunk and offered to allow us to come in, at which my mom said no. The damage had been done and taken its toll.

Fun vibes with outstanding service! The fish and chips were amazing! Super crispy delicious Atlantic cod -10 out of 10 stars- a must try. The homemade tartar sauce blew us away. The burger was fantastic- very flavorful and though cooked well done was juicy. Make sure you save room because you don t want to miss their bread pudding and homemade ice cream.

Management clearly does not care about customers. I went in last week and the server greeted us briefly at our table and then never came back. We waited 15 minutes and watched him greet other tables who arrived after us that he appeared to be friends with. We left and went to black sheep lodge which had great service. If I could give the service here a zero I would! The guy working behind the bar with a ponytail on karaoke night was the rudest most aggressive person! I asked at the bar where I could order food and he yelled at me that he would take my order but wouldn t bring it over to me and I would have to come collect it, I asked where a better place would be to order and he actually walked away and served another customer. I left the bar and asked my boyfriend to order and he had the exact same experience, however this time the bartender swore at him as well? I have worked in hospitality for 10 years and have never encountered this! Maybe the bartender is a nepotism hire or an owner of some sort? Won t be coming back so don t care, chicken was good.

The food was good, especially the chicken and avocado burger. Very good atmosphere both outside and on the terrace. However, they personally had horrible service with me. Basically they forgot to bring me what I had ordered, despite reminding the waitress they still didnt bring it to me. I already had to get up to the bar after 30 minutes and after explaining the situation the manager served me my order. Regrettable treatment although I understand that it may be a specific occasion.

Baker street is so fun! Heads up, parking fills up quickly. Live band is always quite good, plenty of TVs (even during March madness), and the bar staff is awesome. Gotta go!
