Staff was extremely rude, especially Troy. Food was meh. We were sitting down in the seats right outside to wait for our food then in a condescending way told us that we had to go sit in the lovely generic airport seats across the way, which would make us carry our heavy luggage up some stairs even though there was plenty of seating inside the restaurant. And as we were confused why we cant he just said you need to sit over there and started half escorting us. We then walked away to some other seats and had to wait because we already paid for the food. And while we were waiting for the food, the cashier were looking at us and snickering. Horrible service, food was meh. Ruined the final hours of our trip.

Did a tricky let me work the morning and see if I make it in time for my flight after my shift. I m an experienced flier, not sure if it s the tight window or just general nerves stopped in starving to get something to snack on. Immediately drop them on the floor. The manager, Richard saw this and immediately replaced them for me, also consoled my nerves for a KO. Thank y all!! Thank you Richard.

Good for the airport I guess. I ordered the turkey blt first but after one bite sent it back, it is VERY seasoned. Like overpowering to the point where you couldn t even taste bacon which is insane. I asked for something else and got the burger. It has NO flavor. I m pretty sure the patty had zero seasoning. Very bizarre. For $18 for a burger I would have absolutely expected more.

Had to witness a horrible customer ask for bottled water that they did not offer. He was rude about the food selections etc. not sure what his life is like but saw the waitress go buy a bottle of water from another vendor and give to him so he had one for his flight!!! I sat down before my flight to have a drink. I ordered an old fashioned from the rudest female blond bartender I ve ever seen. She slammed it down in front of me and I tried it and it was the worst drink I ve ever had. I told her and she demanded to know what was wrong with it in a rude way. I told her it didn t taste anywhere close to correct so I ordered an espresso martini. She told me she was going to charge me the more expensive price for the more expensive liquor I didn t order. Whatever. When she slammed it down in front of me it was white (???) and tasted horrible. There were ice chunks in it like she didn t strain it at all. I tried to get her attention again and she blatantly ignored me so I bailed. Horrible experience even for an airport. Whoever trained this bartender should never work in this industry again and whoever is creating the cocktails doesn t know what they re doing AT ALL. Would not suggest.

When our flight was delayed today after a very long trip, we had a great meal at Second Bar + Kitchen. The food was great and the service experience was even better. This made the delay much less painful. The only exception to the experience was the bar service. When we returned after dinner for a drink, the bartender could not have been less interested in serving us. He was the opposite of hospitable. We eventually walked out without drinks and went somewhere else. But even with this unpleasant experience with one bartender, I would recommend this spot at the airport for a meal.

Thoroughly disgusted with the service here. Upon walking to the restaurant, I waited to be seated. The host was distracted and told me to sit at one of the two seat tables. So I went to sit down. Waited a few minutes. No one came with a menu or water. When I asked a server for a menu, she gave me attitude and told me that I would have to wait since I sat myself. I then saw her and another waiter exchanging comments with each other while looking in my direction. She eventually did bring the menu but rolled her eyes at me when I told her I needed a few minutes to look over the menu. Needless to say, I decided to leave without ordering anything. I have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner in any customer service interaction and as a tourist to Austin, it truly leaves me with a foul impression of this city.

Rare to find really good food at an airport. The turkey BLT is a go-to, and its worth upgrading to the black truffle fries. Shishitos are -- get them and dunk them in the miso mayo. Randi is incredible. Drinks: get the green tea shot if youre having fun. They also serve a rare beer - Dragons Milk stout from Michigan. Something to celebrate the end of a journey. Or a beginning. Austin deserves so much better. Wish I would have read the reviews before we ate here. We went here because it wasnt crowded on a busy day. Now I know why. We had an hour before boarding so there should have been no problem getting lunch. We were seated pretty quickly, but the hostess just handed us menus and didnt say a word. For the next 10 minutes she seated 3 more parties with no indication when someone would show up to take our order. When the bartender finally started taking orders, he did so in reverse order of how we were seated. When I called him over and said we were seated first, he got upset and said hes got the whole area and the bar and has no way to know who was seated first. I said she knows and pointed to the hostess who was standing less than 10 feet away. She again said nothing. He assured us that all our orders would be placed at the same time, but 2 of the 3 parties were finished eating before our food even arrived 40 minutes later. We now had 10 minutes to try to scarf down our food and get to the gate, so we asked for boxes. The servers here are rude, ignore you, and seem to be completely unaware that people have flights they need to catch. To make matters worse, the 3 meals cost us over $100. Its a shame because the food was actually good. Austin has such good food and service, hopefully this place will be replaced by a professionally run restaurant soon.

The avocado toast wasn t toasted and the avocado was a tasteless thin schemer of what seemed like grocery store guacamole. It s wasn t like guacamole I would expect in Austin. Stopped by here on a random layover when we got delayed. The service was top notch, prices reasonable for the location, and food/drinks were great. If you re looking for a large menu keep walking. We got the Brussel Sprouts (no mint) and hummus for a quick snack. Both were great. Our waiter recommended a good wine pairing as well. Quick, easy, and tasty. We had a long layover and thought a sit down lunch would be nice. Its a good thing we had time to waste because this place took forever. They brought us the smallest cups of water and never refilled them. We poured our own water from our water bottes to drink. There are only a handful of things on the menu, one of them being a dip but they had no chips to go with the chips and dip, somehow they thought bread was a good substitution??? The turkey BLT barely had anything in it. I will say the Jalapeno Caesar Salad was really good if you dont think of it as a Caesar Salad. Thats really the only reason the food got 3 stars. The people are rude, not just to us, to everyone, they basically told everyone to just order their food to go. Eat somewhere else.

The food was mediocre and cold. It was clear the food had been sitting out for a while by the time we got it and our server said something along the lines of this food was out and ready to go but no one told me. It took almost 45 minutes to get all our food. The main reason for 2 stars was the service. The server we worked with was young and very spiteful towards other employees and customers. When he got a bad tip or a server tried to help him with his area (invaded his area) he had a reaction similar to Tim Robinson (ITYSL) and would say nasty things under his breath behind them. He also just really struggled to use the kiosk to settle checks or place orders. It seemed like he was always there instead of bringing food or taking orders. Maybe if we had a different server we would have had a different experience but that day I think he was busy and also just needed to accept help from his peers. Also my bread was burned

The food is great. The service though is 50/50, some of the staff are friendly and great and some are nasty and you ll have to basically chase them down to get any kind of service. I like the food, but I ll only get it to go from here on out.

I usually have a moderate experience each time I come here which is normally for breakfast. Today I got here around 11:15. It wasn t crowded but you could tell there had just been a rush. After about 10 min, a server rushed by and gave me some napkins and said he d be with you soon. Not sure what he was doing. But finally I left about 5 min later. I didn t have an hour for a leisurely lunch. I had a plane to catch.

Racist staff refused to seat us with restaurant half empty. Weve been going to Second since they opened (now closed) downtown and at their East Austin location regularly for years. They were the first to bring wine on tap to Austin years ago. And their food has been solid. But I dont put up with racists. See you never Second!

I was not impressed. The waiter, Kayla, was extremely disrespectful when carding me and said my vertical state issued ID was not normally acceptable and that it had to be horizontal. Then she proceeded to guilt trip me by saying she would let is slide. After this, she filled the drink 3/4. This happened May 15, 2023. I paid a whopping $11.20 for a single drink with tip. If you are going to be rude and reserve service then do so. Please dont play chicken and egg with peoples hard earned dollar or precious time. Pretty disgusted and I certainly will be taking my business elsewhere next time.

Wow!!!!! I get that it s an airport. You likely won t see people again but come on!!! Worst service, food I couldn t eat and expensive!!!! Almost $40 for just chips and a drink that s just wrong. Michille was amazing! Such a relief after leaving the bar down the way. The food was great the pours were what they should be and the service was outstanding. The other bar we stopped at earlier (4 hour layover) should have their bartenders trained here.

We had the breakfast pizza and mimosas before our flight out to Hawaii and they were both delicious! Not sure why this place is only rated 3+ because it was really clean, the staff were friendly and the food was good! Over priced just like everything at the airport... But it was nice to have decent food and a well poured drink when youre going to pay a lot regardless! I highly recommend this place!

When my flight kept getting delayed over and over again, I figured I would scout this place out since I could see my day from the bar. Little did I know, the bartenders would make the time fly. The bantering back and forth between them whipping up my next concoction was a great change of pace from how my day was going. The atmosphere at this place is great, plenty of room for seating, plug-ins, a great selection at the bar as well as a pretty decent menu. Sitting at the bar, you can see out onto the ramp and watch the aircraft taxi in and out which is great; no one likes staring at a wall. I definitely were in front checking this place out!!

I ve been here a few times to eat. This time was there for just drinks. Sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail from their menu. I ve had many Negronis and specifically checked the ingredients off their menu. The first clue I should have known was when the bartender asked me my garnish preference and even asked if I wanted a cherry. When it arrived, the color was off. It should have been pinkish red in color, but was brown as can be. I did question the bartender and she shared that she did use Campari, but she also used this additional liquor that should always sub out for Campari when it isn t available. I couldn t finish the drink, it was so awful. $21 down the drain. Their establishment needs to retrain their bartenders on their cocktail menus. Negroni is a very popular, yet not a drink for everyone. But if on a menu, served correctly.

Don t waste your time and money. We had a terrible experience. We came in to get soft drinks because we do not drink alcohol. We wanted to use the power bench stations to get some work done. We were told we had to leave if we didn t order food or alcohol. We had lunch right before this so it felt wasteful to order food. So we asked for our check and our waiter, Chris, said he couldn t just ring up soft drinks in the restaurant system. This is a really poor experience for travelers. The place was not full and had plenty of open tables. We will not be returning to Second Bar.

Looks great on the outside! Came for breakfast while waiting for connecting flight. Menu says breakfast served until 11 but when we came at 10, they were not serving food anymore, so we had to wait until 11 for the lunch menu. The lunch menu is pretty limited but it was even more limited due to them being short-staffed so half the items were not available. The chicken tenders were clearly pre-made and frozen, dipped in a hot fryer and served with fries for $15. Want ketchup or sauce? Those will come in a packet. Incredible ripoff.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Everyone acts as if theyre in such a rush or busy when there are many servers and bartenders but the restaurant seats no more than 30 people, theres as many people on staff as people dining in. Yet, they negligent and attitudinal. I have not ever been this unattended and ignored ever in an a dining experience. Also, the kitchen had loud and vulgar rap music blasting as they cooked which made me uncomfortable. I ordered a starter and it took 15 minutes to prepare and it also took about that same time to acknowledge me. My server never returned after taking my order. My food shouldve been free. Dismiss this place as they do with guests, there are far better restaurants in the airport thats probably more affordable.
