The menu is a bit pricey. A side of two poached eggs was $10, in addition to $18 for pancakes. We visited on Saturday around 11:30. We did not have reservations, so seating at the bar or outside were our options. Inside the restaurant was really loud, so we sat outside. Outside is a bit crowded, and the sun was out, so it was hot. Our waiter seemed disinterested. He wasnt unfriendly, but he wasnt friendly either. We had to prompt him for our bill, and he never stopped by after our food was delivered. I ordered the pancakes with blueberry compote and lemon butter. The flavors really came through, but my pancakes were underdone, and gummy. I also had two poached eggs. They were seasoned perfectly. My friend had the Cafe Breakfast, and her child ordered a Salted Chocolate Chip. Both of their plates had fuzzy, lint-like particles. So, a thumbs down on service and atmosphere, but a thumb up on flavor.

Junes is cute and romantic. The food was perfect for a wine night- get the artichoke and the fries with garlic aioli. Great service from everyone. Our server, Mike, did an incredible job and was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The runner, Nina, and bartender, Emma, were so so friendly to us. And lastly, Christina, was such a warm, welcoming energy as soon as we walked in. We felt so taken care of and had the best date night. Thank you!

The food is awesome and the ambience is very nice. Maybe I m old, but I don t understand the need to have the music as loud as a club on a friday early evening, where I am screaming at my neighbors to have small talk. The group I was with all agreed to leave before dessert bc it was just too loud. That s my personal preference though. Steak tartare was awesome.

Extremely disappointing, but I had a waitress who was very rude and didn t want to be there. So this REALLY soured my experience. It started with a AC above my table dripping condensation onto my glasses and table. When asked to move and showed the waiter where I was wet, she looked at me like I was being dramatic. Indeed, I m paying for a nice meal and looking to stay dry ? Is that so much to ask for? I wish I had another waitress or waiter because plenty of other tables had a nice time and weren t getting wet. Is there anything worse when the waiter or waitress makes you feel bad for not ordering a cocktail or not ordering desert? We ordered apps and entrees and asked to move when I got wet. Otherwise, we were an easy table you d think . What a headache to deal with rude staff! I do that enough in my daily life, that when I go out to eat I want to Enjoy! Not happening at Junes!!! The artichoke, gem salad, and fried chicken sandwich were good

Went to this place for the first time with a group of friends and honestly we would ve gotten better service at McDonald s. My friend asked our waitress for a mimosa then decided he wanted the bottle and the waitress proceeds to say it s really expensive like why does it matter how much it is, he s asking for the bottle he didn t ask for the price lol then my other friend asked for a glass of water with ice but ofc they already serve you the bottles of water at the beginning which she forgot about but the waitress tells her OH OKAY SO JUST A CUP OF ICE? trying to be smart about it, there was no need for that comment and it wasn t just the comment but the way she said it. I ordered the cafe breakfast LITERALLY an egg McMuffin for $22?!! When they come and pour more water or to pick up plates they just shove into your face or over you without saying excuse me or anything.. the food was gross and over priced. Then we ask the waitress if she can separate our orders/checks at the very beginning before ordering our food and she says maybe if I have time, we ll cross that bridge when it comes to that time WHAT?! lol won t ever be returning to this place.

June s is a wonderful European/french inspired bistro with excellent execution in their dishes. My wife and I went for brunch and enjoyed a wonderful natural rose with a few snacks and a salad to help us nourish yet cool down on a hot day. We sat outside and their misters and shade made it very comfortable despite the pretty hot summer day. We enjoyed the salami and olive dish served with bread and olive oil/butter. We also had the tuna crudo which was served with a great sauce and the most delicious grilled bread. To round things out we had the seared ahi Niçoise salad. We enjoyed each dish and enjoyed the wine recommendation from our server was spot on. The prices were reasonable for SoCo and the quality of their food. We ll definitely be back for their dinner menu!

Had all high hopes before going to June s, however, was extremely disappointed. We made a reservation upon reaching there and there was a 30 minute wait time. After 30 mins, we did not receive any text from the restaurant and kept waiting outside for another 15-20 mins before they could prepare our table. There was no one to take order from us for another 10 minutes and we kept waiting. Even with the order, it took a while for them to get our food and the loud music made impossible for us to make an order. Overall, the service was really poor.

The food was quite good. The dishes seemed well thought out, though the overall concept of the menu as a whole is somewhat strange, as there are a lot of non French items on the menu. Prices seemed a little high but not out of line. Our server was good. Food was brought out in 3 batches for our main course and sides, with 2-3 minutes in between batches which was annoying. The atmosphere was lively, but they had a DJ and the music was quite loud. It was a Friday night but it still felt excessive, as it was hard to talk to the person across the table while competing with the bass from the music.

It is highly annoying that I cannot utilize Open Table to reserve seating when making plans in advanced for six. I would be providing you weeks worth of advanced notice, but your customers cannot even do this for any night. The real kicker is that there is indoor seating that accommodates a party this size in their professional adverts. Why is this entire city so weird about reservations? This is a large party, but not an 8-top+

Never reviewed ANY restaurant for good or bad online prior to this - so here it goes... Junes used to be my favorite place in Austin to eat at (and I would always recommend the place to people), however, last night (2/17/24) we had a horrible service experience there. We walked in a bit after 8pm on a Saturday expecting to wait at least 45 to 90 minutes for an inside table. No biggie (I get it - Saturday night in Austin w/o a dinner reservation). We were told there was about an hour wait. We said cool, well go grab drinks at a bar a block away. Around an hour later, we got the text saying our table for 4 people was ready. We arrived at the host stand within 5 minutes of getting the text. When we gave them our name we found out that whoops! our table was accidentally given away to someone else. They told us to go wait up at the bar while they figured it out. The host said feel free to order some drinks. We said Okayyy, are they on the house? After all we just spent an hour of our time waiting for the table you gave away to someone else. The reaction from the host was Uhhhh not sure, lemme check. We then were waiting by the bar (as we were told to do by the host), bartender approaches us and says Do you guys want to order anything? We told her that we were waiting on our table situation to get figured out and we were told to hang out there by her colleague. We sat there for another 10 minutes and after nobody updating us on the situation/offering to comp anything for the trouble/offering a genuine apology - we just decided to grab a pizza from Home Slice, go home and call it a night. When we were almost out the front door - the woman who was presumably the manager came up to us saying multiple times What can we do to make this right? We told her we were over it and just leaving. Ive managed multiple restaurants in the past - at least offer a gift card to someone in this sort of situation on the way out and say Hey, were so sorry we messed up. Please come back another time and give us another shot. We wouldve been okay with that and no hard feelings. Sit us at the bar, offer a round of drinks and an appetizer - cool, no hard feelings. Mistakes happen, I get that, just try to make it right. Not sure why MML Hospitalitys service has gone downhill. Junes used to be such a great place to go for a meal or just a couple drinks, and had great service. I know the parent company is opening new locations in California, Aspen, and Houston, so maybe theyve taken their eye off the ball here in their hometown. Just seems like there was a large lack of basic customer service and being respectful of peoples time.

I love June s. We eat here all the time and the food is great. Service is European aloof with an emphasis on willful neglect. Food does arrive, and there will be drinks, but you should seriously come in viewing time as a construct. Many servers will walk by your table and try as you might to make eye contact, raise a hand to signal, or engage in any way, be prepared to be invisible until your server decides it is your time. We laugh about it, and deal with it because the wine is good, the food is above average, and we are decidedly gluttons for punishment. See you tomorrow, my uber-hip and indifferent June s staff!

First Time In. Walked over to the bar and sat down after waiting at the hostess station for a few minutes. After awhile the hostess came over and informed me that bar seating was assigned. I thanked her and promptly left. Not interested in the attitude.

The cuisine was exceptional and we enjoyed sitting outside. Trinity was super helpful and guided us through the menu options. We decided to order the pancakes and the chicken sandwich. I would highly recommend. The bay leaf aioli was delicious paired with the fries. Yum! When we go back we will be sure to ask to sit in Trinity s area. She was so pleasant and super knowledgeable. Thanks so much for a lovely experience.

June s has great cocktails and food! Small menu but indicative of fresh ingredients. The indoor area is a little tight on tables, but also has high top and bar seating. There is also outdoor sitting on both sides of the building. I ordered Breakfast Chalupa which was excellent! The menu lists as scrambled egg whites but it s actually layered on a torts with black beans, salsa picante, avocado, ricotta salata. Very good. Also, if you like a little hot pepper in your juice order of the fresh juice with carrot, orange, ginger and espelette.

The food was nothing special. It seemed like it lacked flavor/seasoning. The service was perfectly fine, no complains there. Probably won t be going back, there are plenty of better options on South Congress.

June s is an oasis on South Congress on a hot day. Great brunch menu and an incredible wine list. My wife had house made granola and I had wagyu tartare. Both were very delicious. My one note is; what looked like Parmesan on top of the egg that came with the tartare is horseradish, so be warned. What really made June s exceptional was the service we got from Alexis. She could tell we were taking refuge from the 100+ degree heat and brought us ice water straight off the bat. She was kind, attentive, not overbearing, and thoughtful throughout our whole meal. She recommended the cookies for dessert which we took away with us and were incredible. Finally as we left she handed us more ice water to go without us even asking. She made what would have been a very good experience at June s an outstanding one.

Would have been nice to experience the food but my friend and I waited in our seats 15 mins not even a greeting. Ppl came in after us and were greeted and served. The only difference between us (poc) and the ppl served (wht) was complexion. Servers looked us up and down avoided eye contact when we did look around the nearly empty restaurant (tables occupied: 2 inside 1 table outside) when we left, I said no thank you to the host and he said sorry guys dont be sorry be better.

Came in with my best friend for brunch on a Monday. We arrived at opening time. We were the first to be seated. However, after waiting for 15min, we decided to just stand up and leave. Two tables were seated after us. Within this 15min timeframe, both tables were waited on and received drinks and placed their orders. We patiently waited for a server to come to our table to no avail. At points, some of the staff looked in our direction or flat out avoided eye contact. This was extremely disappointing. We will definitely not be back. SN: my best friend is a POC. Every other patron was not!

It was a packed Sunday brunch and we were worried we couldn t find a spot walking in without a reservation, however Tyler quickly assisted us room for two at the bar. Our bartender Duncan was amazing!! He makes the best bloody Maria s. It was a little busy, but Dylan introduced himself to us and even though he wasn t our server, he made us feel very welcomed, taking the time to elaborate all the in s and out s of the brunch menu. My eggs were cooked to perfection and the pancakes were delicious. We will be back soon! Best brunch in austin!

My wife and I sat at the bar for a quick drink to celebrate our wedding anniversary after having a great dinner next door at Neighborhood Sushi. We sat at the bar for 10 min with the bartender ignoring us. No menu, no greeting, even when we attempted to get their attention multiple times, they did not make eye contact. Another bartender even walked up and we politely said excuse me? Also ignored. Confused and disappointed, we decided to leave after several more minutes of no service. This seems to be an outlier based on other reviews which was one of the reasons we were excited to try Junes. UPDATE: Spoke with someone from management who reached out and wanted to learn more about the situation and apologized for the experience. They sent a gift card as well so were looking forward to coming back and trying Junes again soon.

Good, but WAY OVER PRICED. 12$ for half a glass of mimosa? Yikes. 18$ for 2 pancakes . 2 dishes and two drinks 106$. I dont know. I have had better with a lot better pricing as well. Nice waiters and cool environment, though.

Jake, Bartender service was on point and very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Every item I ve had here in the past has been quite good. Today I indulged in the steak au poivre, which was excellently prepared by the Back of House staff. Update 21 Feb 2022, went to enjoy another steak this one was over cooked not even a hint of pink. I was definitely more well than medium I was hungry so ate it regardless. It was flavorful but texture and it being over cooked told me it was cooked far too quickly. I did not recognize any of the staff, there was some turnover as most places in this time.

I was really looking forward to coming here but unfortunately it was just a bad situation all around. We had a reservation but the host sat us by the cutlery and we waited to be seated. They sat other people and kept us waiting. Everyone was very rude. Even when we sat down to order they were extremely condescending. They also brought me a chipped mug for my coffee. The croque madam was not good and it was impossible to eat. What a waste of a Saturday. Going to McDonald s to make up for this bad lunch.

The place was uncomfortably warm inside sitting on the plastic chairs was unpleasant and me and my companion were literally dripping sweat from contact to the seat. My steak was subpar not a particularly nice cut of meat for the price, and it was in a congealing sauce (which got worse because they brought out our entrees, but then took over 5 minutes to bring my mashed potatoes for some reason). Cocktails were lukewarm. All in all, 3 cocktails, 2 entrees and 1 appetizer were $160 before tip. I added a star because my companion s chicken sandwich was large and tasty.
