Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by friendly personnel, which set a positive tone for the visit. The music choice was great, though it was too loud for comfortable dining. Unfortunately, the menu did not match the advertising, which was disappointing. I tried the Rasta Pasta dish, and it was just okay, nothing exceptional. The sweet potato pie, however, was overly sweet, with sugar being the dominant flavor. While the food was just average, the friendliness of the staff stood out. I might give this place another shot when a different restaurant takes over. The people were wonderful, but the food was just okay .

Visited on Fathers Day/Sunday. They were out of half of the items I wanted to try. The food I ordered was great presentation, taste, and proportions. Smothered turkey leg with dirty rice were moist and fulfilling. Customer service was very patient with my partys indecisiveness. I will return, hoping for the oxtails and greens while supplies last. The atmosphere was clean and inviting.

I dined at this establishment during service from KJs BBQ & Soul Food. The oxtails were amazing! The mac n cheese was good, a little heavy on the garlic, but it was still very good. The baked beans had good flavor but way too much sugar for me to eat them. My husband tried the brisket and loved it. He also tried the wings which very salty for some reason. I messaged the owner about it. He responded quickly and offered to refund me or provide us with a new meal. That kind of service will get my business any day. So I went back for ribs a couple days later and they were great. I think the quality of the plates are worth the value. If you eat oxtails I urge you to give these a try. Chef KJ dont change a thing about the oxtails! I also want to commend Kitchen Combine for doing this wonderful service for small businesses as well as us hungry consumers. This is awesome stuff!

This Review is for Kjs Kitchen. Customer Service was awesome everyone was very sweet. I love my potatoe salad sweet and flavored and this potato salad was the opposite. The greens were bland with no seasoning. The dirty rice was decent. The macaroni was on point. My Oxtail looked excellent but was very bland and unseasoned, that was very odd because the ribs were some of the best ribs Ive ever had, they had a sweet and seasoned taste to them that should have been shared with the Oxtail. I absolutely recommend the ribs.! Overall this establishment was Just Okay.

This restaurants food is delicious! It has that Southern flare about it. My daughter brought home the oxtail plate for us two weeks ago and I almost fell out of my chair it was falling off the bone delicious! I couldnt get them out of my mind so I made a trip on my own from Fort Worth to get me more food this week. That smoke flavor kicked it up fifty noches. I ordered the oxtail sandwich for my daughter and she loved it. Now for service, Miss Betty is such a lovely and classy young lady. Shes Miss Betty and I introduced myself to her as Miss Helen. I didnt get to share with her that my oldest sister is named Betty. She was so nice to my 3-year-old grandson. She gave him crayons and a coloring sheet that helped me keep him busy while we waited for our meals. The young man was also nice, but I didnt get his name. I would suggest that if you love Southern cuisines, then, Kitchen Combine will definitely satisfy your cravings. Where you all go next month, I will find you because Im now addicted to those oxtails. Thank you.

I recently had the pleasure of discovering Kitchen Combine in Arlington, Texas, a delightful family-owned and operated BBQ smoke spot that truly stands out in todays inflated market. My advice? Skip the overpriced restaurants and head straight here for a meal that s worth every penny. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service that made me feel right at home. The portions were incredibly generous; I left with a to-go box because I couldnt finish everything on my plate. The chefs recommendation of oxtails was music to my ears, as its one of my favorite dishes. Their version, smoked and BBQed to perfection, did not disappoint. The dirty rice was out of this world, packed with flavor, and the sweet beans were so satisfying that dessert wasn t necessary. I paired my meal with an ice-cold Coke while the attentive staff ensured I had everything I needed throughout my visit. If you re looking for a place that combines outstanding food, friendly service, and hearty portions, look no further than Kitchen Combine. I highly recommend this eatery it s a hidden gem in Arlington that you dont want to miss! Parking: Plenty of free parking!

I patronized this establishment a few days ago after seeing DubbsGrubbs on Instagram and while the customer service was A-1, unfortunately, the food was not. I m all for paying $40 for an oxtail plate if it s quality. The oxtail had excessive fat on it that had not been trimmed, thus there was very little meat to consume. Very disappointing as that s really what you are paying for. I essentially paid $10 per oxtail that was the equivalent of 2 because the fat was not edible. The Mac & cheese was horrible. There is no way anyone could think that it was quality. Someone definitely needs to go back to the drawing board. For Gods sake, STOP cooking collard greens with stalk in it. The laziness of not removing the stalk to make people think they have more greens is played out. Cut the stalk off the leaf or stop buying pre cut bags with stalk included. The potato salad and the cakes were good, but everything else needs work. If I m going to spend $74.00 on food, I expect better and I don t think that s too much to ask for; quality soul food.

Save your money $67 for a 1 meat plate, stuffed turkey leg and brisket sandwich, they ought to be ashamed. With prices like that I was expecting my food to be amazing! Unfortunately KJ s BBQ fell short, BBQ is overpriced, dry, and lacks flavor. I went within an hour of the restaurant opening and my food tasted and looked like it came fresh out of the microwave, no smoke whatsoever. I can t think of anyplace I ve been with worse BBQ than this. Price accordingly! Kitchen Combine has a great concept maybe the next chef will deliver.

This place was seen by a coworker in GA. So I decided to patronize the place. I ordered the ox tails. Please see the pic below. The total cost was 40 bucks plus tax. Although the food was good it was not worth the amount of money paid for the small portion. I would have rather had smaller oxtails in a larger portion. The dirty rice was dry and the greens could have been seasoned a little better. But again it was good just not worth almost 50 bucks

Had the Gumbo, which I admit I have high expectations for, but the flavor was ok, but what made it not so great is Ive never, ever had a Gumbo that had bones in it, not even in Louisiana. I kept finding these huge bones and even worse....bit into several smaller bone fragments. Pork in gumbo isnt unusual, but the bones are not. That being said, overall it was a very mid gumbo, it had chicken and sausage as well, but the flavor overall was just underwhelming.

First off let me say this is a cool concept for chefs and restaurants just starting out. It is pretty much a revolving restaurant. There is New chef each month and I would assume it gives them an opportunity to showcase their food at a less expensive overhead Past that, I don t think that this place will last very long because the cost savings is not passed on to the consumer. We had Eaties and just happened to find this place because I googled catfish near me. We paid $50 for two catfish lunches two pieces, two sides and a bottled water. The catfish was good, however one of my sides was undercooked and the others were over seasoned. Smothered potatoes were cut unevenly so some were raw and some were mushy. Cabbage was tasty but way overcooked. There is no way that the chef tasted this before it went out. We might try again later on once the kinks are worked out as this was their first week opened but in this economy that s a steep price.

The menu boasts classic soul food staples, from perfectly seasoned fried chicken to mouthwatering collard greens. The macaroni and cheese is a standout, delivering a rich, cheesy goodness that captures the essence of homemade comfort. While the service is friendly and attentive, the pace of the kitchen can vary. Patrons may experience a bit of a wait during peak hours, but the flavors that unfold on the plate make the delay worthwhile.Portion sizes are generous, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. The cornbread deserves a special mention for its delightful sweetness and moist texture, elevating the overall dining experience. While Kitchen Combine may not reinvent the wheel when it comes to soul food, it delivers solid, dependable dishes that hit the right notes. I told my husband about their being a Catfish Connection over here in Arlington, so he decided to check it out 08.26.2023. He placed an order online for a whole catfish, and a two piece catfish fillet plate (which is actually one fillet cut in half). He thought he was going to receive a text message that would notify him when his food would be ready for pickup, but he did not. He said when he arrived his food was ready. Once he got it home and I examined our plates.....the fish coating was really dark in color (not from over cooking....wasnt crispy), which might be a result of the oil being old? My husband, however, did like his whole spicy catfish, and mine fillet was under seasoned. The fries was soft, soggy and greasy. I had to place the fryers along with my catfish fillets in our air fryer to get them crispy. I might go back some time in the future to see if maybe, theres any improvement.

Catfish was great last week golden brown. This week it was burned cornmeal dark brown and tasted like old grease. Very disappointed. I ordered 5 fillets this time. They are not fillets, they are definitely cut down in size.

Heard good thing about the place and was ready to try the food but whoever was in charge refused to pick up the phone and refused to open the door when my father was trying to come. Store says closing time is at 8 but the stooped answering the phone at 7ish and wouldn t open the door around 7:30 when my father got there.

This place has huge fluffy catfish filets that taste amazing! Prices are well worth it. I only wish they would have a shelf or table set aside for online orders so that I dont have to stand in line or cut just to pick up my order. The place is packed, so they need to make it easier for us to get in and out without interrupting them helping new customers. Since its so awesome Id suggest they move to that empty arbys building across the street next to sonic and that way they could have the drive thru for pickup orders only like McAlisters does. If they can manage their traffic then Id bet theyd have enough business for a larger location.

Catfish Connection- Arlington/Mansfield Area vs. Catfish Connection - Dallas/Oak Cliff . they are sisters not twins in comparison. Dallas/Oak Cliff establish has been on Kiest for decades. That cooking equipment is what you call seasoned holding flavor, lol! My dinner consist of Real Catfish not SWAI. My order was 3pcs Catfish Fillet; which does not mean 3 Catfish Fillets. The portion was 1 1/2 fillets ranging $18 total. This was my first visit (my 5yr old son accompanied me inside); we had a clean table to wait 20-25 mins for our order while listening to 90s R&B playing softly. Other customers were polite and patiently waiting many online to go orders were in/out quickly! Nevertheless excited about not having to drive to Cedar Hill/Desoto/Dallas/OakCliff for decent fried CATFISH. May this establishment be blessed to continue serving our community, serve 100% Catfish consistently Fried with each order, & serve with a smile so that I feel welcome with each order. Kid-friendliness: Not a place for entertaining children, which is fine. Although welcoming to families to sit at the tables provided to enjoy their meal. Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant is located to the left immediately at top of steps. Handicap Ramp far left.

Im not sure why this place is advertising catfish. It is not catfish. It is swai. People can tell the difference. You advertise catfish, you need to serve catfish. When my husband realized it was swai it went in the trash. We did not even eat it. He gets a serious case of Gout when he eats swai and he is sick for a week or more. We wont go back.

Will not be back..the one on Keist is way better. I was excited to try since I am from Oak Cliff. I asked before I even bought my plate was the seasoning the same and the recipies the same as the pay cliff one and was told yes. However when I looked and bit into my fish it was not Catfish it was Swai. It made me sick to my stomach. I tried to go back to let them know but they were very rude and didnt even offer to make it right. The seasoning wasnt even good and even though i ordered original they didnt include a pepper with everything. The owners is just mad because I called them our for not serving catfish. I guess I gotta drive all the way to Keist to get the real deal or maybe go to The Catch. Stay away...its not good

The food here is terrible. I was served a fish that was passed off as catfish. There was absolutely no seasoning on the fish or the fries.

Went twice today! Got two of the catfish lunchbox meals ($8 apiece) and a red velvet cake. My fish was spicy and delicious! The white bread and one fillet made a good sandwich. I dont know what it is, but that white bread hits different when it sits with the fresh fish and fries, iykyk! The cake is also delicious. Definitely recommend and will be back again.

After looking at IG advertisement I was convinced to try and it was not good. I had the fish, shrimp and boudain sausage. Fish was very gamy and the shrimp were pretty disappointing. The sausage balls were very generous in size and was pretty good. Probably wouldn t try again. The quality doesn t match the price. Really wanted to like it but had to give honest review.

I took my dad here to get some food. He came to the car, we checked the bag before driving off and his hush puppies and lemon pound cake were missing. He went back in to get his missing items and the lady told him she wanted to see the bag of food. My 65 year old father came back to the car and got the bag. He gets back in the store and and the lady asked so the hush puppies weren t in there like someone is trying to get over them for hush puppies and a piece of cake. Maybe if the staff would get off their cell phones and pay attention to what they are doing they would be able to make sure all paid for items make it in the bag. Good food but work on your customer service.

Catfish is excellent. 50 minute wait for 2 lunch specials! Folks that ordered after us were getting served first. Im not sure what that was about. 4 stars instead of 3 because they acknowledged the mix-up and tried to make it right with extra fish. Ill give them another shot, but its gonna be once I forget about the wait time.

Let me start by saying that the customer service was 10 star, with that being said, it was the Grand Opening never the less Great job and keep it up! Now for the food the Catfish was fried to perfection the spicy fish was a little darker than Id like but it didnt take away from the flavor, the original fried Catfish is the golden Child of the spot! The Fries need to be re-established, they were a little dark soft and off putting compared to the rest of the food! That Cake though ! I would come here just for dessert dont get me wrong the Catfish is bomb but those cakes! Dont miss an opportunity to check them out! An absolute blessing to have in our neighborhood!
