This was the 3rd and final dinner pitstop my brother, dad and I made after the cowboys vs ravens game ended. Were from Canada so we didnt really know the area. I hopped on Google and Yelp for a place that was open late and voila! This place popped up nearby as we kept heading up North Collins St. We wanted to try most of the proteins to see which ones were the best so we ordered: The Tipsy Chick The Hogfather Republican Democrat Mr. Orange Grilled Baja Shrimp My fave was a tie between the Democrat (barbacoa taco) and the grilled baja shrimp taco. The meat in the barbacoa taco was the softest and tenderest. The shrimp taco had the best balance between sweetness of the shrimp and spicy from the sauce. I think my least fave was the Tipsy Chick. The chicken was unfortunately not as moist as I would have liked. It was edging towards dry and there was also a lil bit TOO much cheese in the taco to the point where it was overpowering the taste of everything else (see pic). It was on the pricey side for tacos if Im being honest (but the tacos ARE also hefty and they arent shy w/ the protein so ok Ill give it to them). The employee working the register late night on sunday at this location is awesome (I didnt catch his name). He gave us 3 drink cups to go fill up at the drink machine but we only paid for 2 and tried to return a cup back to him but he told us it was ok because he saw that we were eating together and had 3 ppl! Great customer service. They offer corn and flour tortilla choices for patrons AND you can also buy glass bottle mexican coke which is pretty cool. They also sell breakfast tacos but those ones dont look nearly as interesting as the regular taco menu. Overall, very pleasant experience at Torchys!

Food was good and fast. Prices reasonable. Queso tasted authentic for a fast food joint. 1st time trying wish they had a location in Corpus Christi :) Place was clean and no issues. Eveything was expected for a quick stop in and eat. Thank you!!!

Finally made it to torchys. Had chicken fajita taco. Is full loaded with vegetables and good chicken. One taco was enough for me. Ordered beans too however they were dry. Their chips n queso are so good. Love that stuff. Hubs had brisket tacos which he said was OK.. Will try again without the beans, wish they had rice.. . Place needed to be cleaned. Too many dirty tables from previous customers. The guy at the register was working hard... A bartender at the bar was busy and the guy delivering food to tables was busy too. Maybe they were short handed?

I love this Torchys, but sometimes when I order, they get my order wrong, and I have to send it back. This one, though, is the best one I have eaten at. Vegetarian options: They have a taco made with tofu Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly, dairy free, you just have to tell the person taking your order that you have a food allergy and they can assist you with what to order. Parking: Its sometimes a great place to go when parking. It is mostly packed, but the parking is sometimes a crap show. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking spots(when someone is not trying to pick up food ordered) its really a problem most of the time. The ramps are clearly marked but people still park in the striped spot. The police definitely need to monitor this parking lot.

The front register clerk was so professional and helpful. He was willing to help me find something that wasnt too spicy and even went back to the kitchen and brought out a sample of the pulled pork for me to make sure my sensitive palate could tolerate it before I purchased it. I ordered on 8/3 the trailer park had 3 small pieces of chicken, you couldn t even taste it bc the flour shell, in I ordered a chicken fajita taco in the chicken was burnt, in the Queso didn t taste the same in it had hard pieces of guacamole in it. I m very disappointed in have no time to return it.

I asked for no pico on a taco and still got it so custom orders seem tricky. The brushfire and the trailer park taco were both very tasty. I loved the heat in the brushfire. The Baja shrimp, which I ate last, was very bland by comparison which was a little disappointing but my friends advised me to try grilled shrimp next time. The cheese dip with the tortilla chips was fire, an absolute must order.

First timer! Super good. Yummy in my tummy! I had the Trailer Park and Democrat tacos! The chicken in the TP taco was so flavorful, crispy and tender. The D taco was super yummy, flavorful and the avocado added a creaminess that I didnt know I needed. Interaction with staff member was very good. Torchys Tacos is absolutely amazing! My daughter and I tried it for the first time and we were blown away by everything we ordered. The fried Baja tacos were delicious, the Queso was truly life-changing, and the Chiro sticks were the perfect sweet treat to top it all off. Our cashier, Ben, was fantastic and even introduced us to the incredible strawberry sauce for the Chiro sticks, which Im now obsessed with. Well definitely be returning for our guilty pleasure fix! For those who visit a place for the first time, they expect good service and a pleasant time, this is not the place. Our first visit and the attention was terrible, very little attention. When we went to order we told him we didnt know what to order as it was our first time. The person said nothing, lowering his head and waiting. He asked her for information and she didnt even give it with good humor. Well we ordered what we thought would be very good tacos. There was zero expectation of what it says it would bring and no taste. The shrimp and chicken seemed to have been fried in old oil, they seemed burnt. The drinks serving area is a mess. And to finish, while we were eating, the manager began to scold an employee in front of everyone. Tremendous disappointment we will not return.

I have yet to find a better queso out there. The hillbilly queso has avocado and chorizo added. I always try the taco of the month but I love the fried avocado and green chile pork too. This is probably the most reliable, consistent restaurant I know of. I love this place. Vegetarian options: You can customize any taco, sub in beans for meat or event their plant-based beef.

This place is phenomenal. After eating here I havent eaten at Fuzzys again. The tacos are huge, flavorful and fun. Typically 3 tacos and some chips, and Im stuffed. The margaritas are run of the mill, but tacos make up for it. The prices are a little higher than expected, but thats todays world.

Great vibe! Annnnd omg TIPSY CHICK on a corn tortilla, is A MUST TRY! I thought all taco flavors were the same, until I had this grilled chicken and bacon marmalade with baby spinach and street corn!!! My new favorite

Ive been going to torchys since it was a foos trailer in ATX. My first stop when flying back to texas is always torchys. This is one of the best torchys and that includes all the ones in austin as well.
