We went for birthday ðinner and they came out with huge sombreros and dessert. I got the fajita nachos and they were good. The waiter was very nice and very attentive. Gave refills even when not asked. Kid-friendliness: They gave a couple of crayons and a coloring menu to the kids.

The margarita tasted like kool-aid without any tequila. I hardly drink and even I couldn t taste any liquor in the drink. The restaurant was too warm and felt stifling. The salsa is just bland with no taste or any spiciness. The chicken for the fajitas tasted very bland and had no flavor. We used to go here years back but things have definitely changed. The waitress was attentive and served us quickly.

I used to love this location, but today wasnt a great experience. My daughter ordered Mac and cheese, which the menu said came with a side, but the server said, I know it says that, but it doesnt come with a side. I got one tiny tomato on my taco, two tacos barely had any cheese at all then they charged extra for a side if cheese, my enchiladas were hard. We spoke with a manager and he didnt seem to care at all and just wanted to argue about the side for the Mac and cheese, and said its too hard to change the paper kids menu. Wont be back to this location, because the manager doesnt care about customer service at all.

Will not return Slow service, stale chips, food was not as advertised on the menu. Ordered the brisket enchiladas with queso, but was delivered with red sauce, brisket was so tough I couldnt chew it enough to swallow. The waiter never returned until it was time to drop the check.

My mother and I would go to El Fenix just for drinks and a snack. It was kind of a mother daughter outing. Now, it was an anniversary of her death. So we finally decided to revisit a memory. The service was terrible!!!! We were brought the appetizer in a reasonable time. At the same time, we were informed that or drinks would be made by the manager when she got time. They were getting slammed. Regardless of how slammed they were, it still should have been first come, first served. Over an hour later, the manager brought us our drinks. A margarita over the rocks and a semi frozen margarita. I happened to glance over at our waiter delivering another tables (who arrived long after we did), entre. The waiter caught me looking. He turned quickly, and as if it were the most natural thing, he asked if we were ready to order. This challenged my self-control. We said no, we wanted our ticket and the manager. When the manager arrived, we voiced our distaste for being told we would be taken care of when she got time. And because of the time we had already waited to be waited on. While noticing a table just across from us was being served just minutes after arriving. She apologized profusely and to compensate us, she would pay for our nachos. We had the nachos and added beef for an additional $3.00. We had barely touched them because they were very greasy and not appetizing in the least. They were $8.99 + $3.00 = $11.98. $8.99 is what she paid. We paid for our drinks, which were over $40.00, and the extra $3 for the beef on the nachos. The place was crowded. But as we walked out, the manager shadowed us all the way out, apologizing over and over. She was almost clinging to us as we left. Telling us to come back soon. But, this had been a special place where my mother and I would come together, have a few laughs, and a FEW frozen giant margaritas with the gater around the rim of the glass, and an order of CRAZY nachos, great service, and lots of laughs. She passed on on Memorial Day 2005. I still miss her after nearly 20 years. That was the reason for our visit to El Phoenix. I hadnt been able to go back since I lost her. It was our special place. Because of what happened, I realized two things. 1. You can not go back. And 2. Customer service no longer exists. But I was proven #2 is wrong. We had the pleasure at Red Lobster on hwy 26 in North Richland Hills and had the BEST waitresses ever!!!! She was very cheerful, friendly, and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and deserving of her service. Our visit was both pleasing in service and delicious food. Also, great atmosphere!

I brought a group of senior ladies for lunch. We come because not only the food but the chips are awesome. Today they had old stale chips that were not their usual. The waiter was not very cheerful. Saturday morning, we decided to eat out so Mexican food at El Fenix was the choice. We ordered 2 Picadillo Beef Enchilada plates and for the appetizers, the guacamole and queso. After arriving at 11 :15 (beating the lunch crowd) , we were seated, appetizers ordered and brought out followed by our meal in less than 20 minutes. The place was quiet with only 3 other tables occupied. Our server was attentive and the food was hot and good. Parking: There is plenty of parking if the El Fenix parking lot is full.

Came in last Saturday with my wife for a casual - yet tasteful - dining experience. We were greeted by the hostess, and sat at a lovely booth, whilst my wife and I were taking in the vibrant atmosphere. We were then greeted by our server, Angel. He was a lovely young man who displayed the utmost professionalism, attentiveness, effectiveness, care and respect. Never in my 44 years of living on this Earth have I encountered such impeccable service from a youngster. In conclusion, my wife and I were blown away by such an astonishing performance. Bravo! Ive been going to this location since the day it opened. El Fenix is one of my favorite places to go and always dependable for quality food, fast service and friendly personnel. I went there today at 2:00 p.m. I was seated, and no one came to my table after I sat there for 10 minutes. There were seven or eight patrons and probably double that number in wait staff and employees. Most of them were all on their cell phones texting. I have never gotten up and left that restaurant for any reason. But, today I did. Can management please see what the issue was today? Thanks. J.P.

Havent been to an El Fenix in a few years and hoped it was like we remembered. Definitely not any where near deserving of the name like it once was. First the queso is definitely plain canned cheese sauce with just a little ground meat added very bland almost no flavor. The salsa it self was bland with no spice what so ever. The fajitas enchiladas where horrible and I dont use that term lightly. The sauce was so bland and only luke warm, the cheese is definitely not any type of Mexican blend. Its almost like they took cheap store bought sliced cheese and wrapped it in a tortilla. The beans might a well have opened a can and just poured it on the plate. Needless to say we where very disappointed with the food the only two highlights where the crispy chips and the waiter who was very pleasant. Plz dont waste your money do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Just had another bad experience with the South Cooper location in Arlington. This is 2nd with delivery and we ve also one that we picked up ourselves this is all within last 16 months. While their standard Tex Mex is average to and affordable, me and my wife both really like their tortilla soup better than any of the others we frequent regularly better than Pappasito s, Uncle Julios or Gloria s, however they DO NOT PROPERLY QUALITY CHECK their to-go orders. So when we want soup we order from this location. Today we ordered soups, salsa, tortillas, sopapilla and appetizer duo-combo. The one item that keeps getting missed on all our mishaps is the broth which is what you need to properly enjoy tortilla soup. Since we forgive them for prior mishaps and have been doing better, it happened again today. I personally spoke with the Store Manager, Trang Nguyen and their shift manager, Manual Rodriquez. Both offered no practical solution except for me to drive back up to the store and get fresh soups made. #1 at this point I would not trust them not to mess with re-order and #2 I m not driving 20 minutes across town after a day s long worth of work. They both blamed the delivery driver and said they spoke to the person who packed the meal who swore the item was added. Ok, I m not buying this one what reason in the world would a delivery driver do with chicken broth? The answer, there is none! I tried to get them to give me a refund or send me a gift card for the full meal that would not make it 100%, but would at least show some sincere empathy and apology for a household who has supported them for over 20 years. So, looks like we will be going elsewhere for tortilla soup going forward considering this has happened on multiple occasions. If you go order delivery or pick-up check your order before accepting it I promise you if you don t there is a good chance you will be disappointed. Due to multiple mishaps, I ve now decided to take it to the next step and have a call into their corporate office to see if they are willing to listen and take action. Shame on this particular location for lack of professionalism and care for those who keep them in business.

Mexican food is spicier than it is at El Fenix. However not an expert on Mexican cuisine , but I would expect a wee bit more heat. However overall it was good and the service was excellent

Always a great place to eat!! Our server, Angel, was great!! He was extremely friendly and incredibly efficient. We observed him in his section, and ALL his customers got excellent service from him. He is very professional and definitely knows what he is doing. We really appreciated all his service! Food was excellent as always! Portions are perfect. Place is always brimming with color and very clean. Whether you are just out shopping or having a leisurely dinner, it is a great place to eat! Thanks so much!! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs. No steps.
