I cant believe Ive never been here, Ive lived in this area forever & this was the first time I step foot in Als Hamburgers. Staff was so polite, I am not sure who the girl was that greeted me as I walked in but as I made my way toward my friends she took my drink order... she wasnt even our waitress. Ms. Betty was our waitress. She arrived to take my drink order promptly as the other young lady was bringing my drink, great teamwork! Ms. Betty checked in on us just often throughout our time there & wasnt overbearing... she was superb! Apparently my friends go here often, I asked what they recommend & they said there hasnt been anything they didnt like. The only thing they said was that the fries were so-so. I ordered a cheeseburger with onions rings, it was a good choice. Wonderful service, great tasting food that comes out quickly, clean establishment with affordable prices!

Wow! What a satisfying burger ! I am visiting from out of town (Austin) and Al s is a new favorite for me! The tots and onion rings were crispy and I ordered a Double Double all the way . Omg. This took me back to childhood and our waitress Donna was so welcoming and so good at her job. I felt like I was with family from the moment I walked in, then I ate a meal so good I could hardly keep my Mmmmms! to myself. At 2pm there was no wait which only added to the magic. Do yourself a favor and try this classic treasure this week. I know I ll be back! Parking: Parking lot was busy, but it was easy to find a close spot.

Ordered togo and maybe that is where I went wrong. Ordered the spicy fried pickles and they arent spicy and they arent anything special as far as flavor goes either. The burger itself was really good, I got the double double and my boyfriend got the spicy big. The double double was just a classic burger and personally I would have gone with more mustard or condiments, the spicy big was perfect but it was a little messy, could have been from the drive though. The fries and tots are pretty good but I am a big salt person and it needed some salt or seasoning. The one thing Im really upset about is the ranch it wasnt good at all and having to pay extra for it wasnt worth it. I will give it another shot but opt for dine in.

French fries were undercooked and cheeseburger was mediocre.

An independent restaurant that has always kept bathrooms clean and served higher quality food. The same servers and folks have worked there for years. Comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere. Vegetarian options: I get salads. They will be better than you think. Parking: Only one location. Outside seating available that I like

Passed by this place with a friend and shes a burger connoisseur so we decided to pop in for lunch. The place was surprising cleaner and newer than I expected. Its very well lit with a bunch of potted plants when you walk in and a really cute patio outside. Waitress was pretty friendly and it wasnt too crowded which was nice. Once we ordered our food it came out within 15 minutes. I ordered the chili cheeseburger and she got a regular cheeseburger with bacon. Food came out and I wasnt too excited about the fries. They look seasoned but they werent really, and some were kind of floppy. I ate them anyway and once they sat for a little they got crunchier. Better with ketchup. The burger was not sloppy when it came out, and sloppy is what I think of when I think chili burger. There was very little chili upon opening so I asked the waitress for just a little bit more. She was sweet about it and obliged so that was great. But when it came out and I took a bite it tasted like something was missing and I couldnt quite put my finger on it during the entire meal. My friend didnt care for hers either and said the same thing...something was missing. Overall it was a good experience though. Waitress was tentative, service was fast, and the place was nice. They have a small bar up front so Id like to come back to the patio for drinks one day and maybe give a different menu item a shot.

Patio Dogs NOT Welcomed Walked in, asked if me and my dog can be served on the patio, server said sure. Server then asked if it was only me. I responded no, wife and dog. Server proceeded to renege with sour face, and said no the dog has to be service animal after saying yes seconds prior. We just moved to the randolmill area, and will never eat here because of this. We go to Shadys in Dallas once + a week and were known as regulars, no issues. *** Reponse To Management: right after we left, another couple walks right in front / main door with pup without service dog vest... bias. We just wanted to sit on patio where no one else was sitting and had enough respect to not walk in main door. They were served by you, as we set in car eating neighboring Thai after being rejected ***

The burger was cooked to perfection, expertly seasoned, and each bite was a delightful taste sensation, complemented by the attentive and friendly staff. I didn t like the fries, which were greasy and saggy, lacking the crispiness I expect from a great side. However, the quality of the burgers and the outstanding service more than make up for the shortcomings in the fries, and Ill definitely be returning, perhaps with a different side dish next time. Al s has long been an Arlington institution, serving up good burgers and friendly service. After its namesake and founder passed away, the remaining family started focusing more on their political agenda and less on their business, clientele, and food quality. That quality started to slide. As time went by, they stopped carrying popular food and beverage brands they felt were supportive of a diverse community, no more Frito Lay products, no more Pepsi products, etc. The quality of their food continued to decline, along with the disappearance of common brands of chips and drinks people enjoy with their meals. Through the years, Al s has been a local business of which my family has been hugely supportive, often patronizing the café with large groups of family and friends. But yesterday my wife and I stopped in for a burger and beer only to be told they ve proudly stopped serving Anheuser-Busch products. What s next, no more salt in their recipes because a major salt company sponsored a black or LGBTQ athlete? Ridiculous. We got up and left. We re done with Al s. The humorous irony of it all is that since leaving their former location (due, I m sure, to political differences with the landlord), they now operate in a shopping strip once occupied by Joe Exotic, The Tiger King.

We returned to Arlington for a visit with friends and needed to get a bite to eat. As soon as we realized Als was near us, we decided to go. Its been DECADES since weve had Als Hamburgers and we were not disappointed. So many memories are wrapped in those burgers! I ordered the mushroom swiss burger with onion rings and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich. They were both delicious! Nicely grilled buns, tons of swiss and mushrooms and the onion rings were super tasty. With his last bite of his sandwich, my husband said mmmm, that was good!. Id say we enjoyed our dinner. Service was great and we thought we may be short on time but we got our food really quickly. Gave us a chance to remember the early days of Als when we would eat there in high school!

This may be an icon in Arlington, but this was the worst burger I have ever eaten. The burger tasted like cardboard! No season or juices coming from it at all! I asked for a refund and what a hassle it was! Never again!! And the lies these people tell. I didn t know a bite was considered two thirds of a burger.I ate four fries and I paid for a whole serving. But I ate most of them I was told. I don t mind paying for food I enjoy, but I refuse to pay for bad food. Never said anything about the service it was the food and the hassle about removing the cost from my ticket. Your customers should be welcomed to express their satisfaction and dissatisfaction about your food without being ridiculed. Take note, improve and move on! 50 years too long???

Great old school burgers. I miss their original location but their new location is large and spacious. Service is always outstanding. Feels like a neighborhood place. Parking: Located on the end of a strip center but Ive never had a problem finding a nearby spot.

They have been doing cheeseburgers right for nearly 70 years. Perfect taste. The burger NEVER falls apart, which is rare for a double. It is quite a drive from downtown Dallas, but its worth it every time. At least, it is to me. I have reviewed hundreds of businesses. This is one that I highly, highly, highly recommend if you on search of a phenomenal cheeseburger.

Excellent burgers and sweet potato fries. The single is good with average hunger, but if you are really hungry get the double. Regular fries are good too, but I prefer the sweet potato.
