I went here to grab some food late on a Friday night. The server was nice but the star of the show was the gentleman doing the karaoke! He greeted the table and asked us if we d be partaking in karaoke for the evening and we definitely did! That s honestly what made the experience worth it because the food took forever then was terrible! The server told me I couldn t choose the snapper or Rasta pasta since both dishes would take 30 minutes to make (I m guessing since it was late the chef didn t want to be put through the trouble ) and as a pescatarian my only other option was the curry shrimp. The curry shrimp was not good! It was bland and the cabbage tasted old and stale. As much as I HATE wasting food, especially food I m paying for I couldn t eat the cabbage, it honestly was over cooked.Not too mentioned the 15% gratuity added to each bill. I wouldn t return to this place for food but I would for the karaoke experience.

My friend was in from out of town and wanted Caribbean food. We went on a Friday night with my daughter and they were having Karaoke. The food was absolutely delicious, , the waitress and owner were very personable and accommodating, and the karaoke singers were so much fun! We told friends and family and we all plan to go and enjoy the good food as much as possible as we live an h away! It was worth the drive!!!

One Love Jamaican Restaurant in Arlington Tx, needs to do better frfr! Ill get right to the point. The waitress was nice and when my friend and I arrived, the place was empty. (Friday 7:30pm). We didnt mind because we were excited to try the food. They did not have Rum Punch, which is a signature Jamaican drink. Our Red Snapper was over cooked and dry, the cabbage was blah and I ordered a side order of oxtails for $10 and they gave me 3 small ones. The oxtails were decent, and The Rice & peas was good with the oxtail gravy. We paid for bottled water; they charged gratuity for two people in which we did not notice until after we tipped extra. My friend ordered a second drink in which she spilled by mistake without having a sip. They did not replace the drink, and it was still on the bill. We went across the street to Jamaica Gates and had a great time. Oh yeah the DJ at One Love was nice, shout out to him! First and last time for me. I hate when an establishment nickel and dimes their customers. Parking: Parking was fine.

The food is okay but everything else is horrible. Dirty tables, trash surrounding the front door, terrible service. Tricks customers into double tipping by including it in bill then asking for another tip directly. And as shown more interested in arguing with customers than improving. After being a loyal customer for 2+ years this restaurant has only gotten worse.

I should ve listened to the reviews. Decided to give a try with something small since reviews weren t that great and one gate is closed today. I ordered 3 Jamaican beef Patties with coco bread. Waited about 25 minutes so I thought it was fresh. They are OLD AND BURNT!!! And one of the Patties barely even had any beef! They also charge 15 percent tip even if you are picking up. Went to the location to grab a bite and stayed for a bingo event that was going on. Arrived at the location shortly after 7:30 and ordered drinks and our food before starting the bingo game. After asking several times for our food and being given several different excuses we still had not gotten our food. Everyone else in the restaurant had ordered and gotten their food and drinks and we were still waiting. At 9p the game had come to an end and we were told our food was ready but at that point we were leaving. We enjoyed the game and our drinks were good but the service was terrible and we didn t even get the food we originally came for. Will not be returning.

We came here to the Holi Festival today. Honestly, for me I go off of vibes, and the vibes here weren t all that great to be honest. Even the person with me mentioned that as well. We ordered food at the bar, and it came out in like 20-30 mins which was ok. Spent over $50+ with the automatic gratuity charge and a tip. The food was eh. It was mostly bland with barely any seasoning. I was under the impression that this establishment was black owned, it s not. But I respect them loving the Caribbean culture! Would we go here again? Where do I start? Ok firstly this place is definitely a hidden gem for locals! I decided for my birthday I just wanted some good food, nice music, and a tasty drinks and One Love did NOT disappoint! I had the Curry Goat and it was delicious!! My husband, sister in law and brother in law all had Jerk chicken which was banging as well! They had a bomb Bob Marley playlist playing, let me tell you this place is awesome! Looking for a good time, good drinks, good food, and a vibing atmosphere give them a try you will not be disappointed! Besides having a dress code, I would say this restaurant is great competition to Jamaican Gates. My queen Revonna, and I went to try them for the first time. I ordered the jerseys pork, steamed vegetables, and macaroni and cheese. While Im not one who usually eats spicy food, the jerk pork was great! The cabbage was good. The macaroni and cheese was the only food I wasnt impressed by.

Honestly, I have never been here but the managers unprofessional responses to the customers posts were enough for me to not even attempt visiting this establishment. 12/2/23, I had the opportunity to visit. The show was great and no complaints about that. Now the service or lack thereof, was horrible. The waitress was friendly but my party of 10 arrived 30 minutes prior to show. We looked at the menu and placed orders for food and drinks. 2.5 hours later one person still hadn t received their food and 5 of us hadn t gotten our beverages we patiently waited and asked for water in the interim. We understood the bar was backed up but we never even got water we requested to hold us over. This is unacceptable for a Black, white or any other business especially if you re gonna charge 15% gratuity. My shrimp roti was tasty until it got crunchy from shrimp tails. I respectfully suggest removing tails. I sent a message to one love via facebook messenger and did get a positive response. We do apologize for the inconvenience we had 3 call ins and had to get regular people to step in to help but if you give us a try your first drink is on us and a 20% discount on your tab

I came to the Brown Sugar show. The waitress didn t even look my way. Went to the bar to order my drink and waited about an 1 hour for someone to take my order and another 20 minutes to get my drink. They added gratuity (it s on their menu but I missed it) and gave me nasty drinks!!! Tried to work with them and asked for a sprite so could make it better and was given club soda. Asked for a refund and actually got a sprite. Will come back for the show but would otherwise not patronize this place. I went to One Love for a Burlesque show and my friend ordered two mojitos. It took her about an hour to receive our drinks and her mojito was nasty. I proceeded to speak with the manager about my friends drinks. He refused to provide a refund when the drinks were still full. He stated that it was how he makes them. He kept telling me that he was not a franchise business which was not the point. He was rude and I ve worked as a waitress before. I know how to handle customers as well as make drinks. Please do not patron at this establishment as he does not value his customers.

Went on a Saturday afternoon out the blue since moving here from the DMV and my wife and I loved it! Been coming ever since 2017. We have eaten in and have taken out. I wasn t going to make a post, but I m really craving . and want my husband to try oxtails, as he is over 40 and never had them! Remind you I grew up Caribbean, but I m far way from home! The 1st time I went I ordered rice&peas, oxtails, cabbage, and plantains. (I thought the plantain was extra and rice &peas automatic) I got maybe 3 small and a big one and hardly no gravy? I ll go earlier next time? 2 weeks later I craved Carribean again when ordering this time I ordered same thing but didn t know I had to tell them i wanted rice &peas because I said I want an oxtail dinner with cabbage and plantain on side. So I get my food and there s no rice&peas? I ve never in all my years not received rice&peas with a dinner. So I order rice&peas cause I can not eat oxtails wit out rice&peas! I had a lot of oxtail and gravy that time, but they were VERY SALTY, so I drowned me rice in it to eat it? My lips were tingling and I was parched. My first was reading their food is salty , but wanted my own experience, so I overlooked the negative reviews. My second was hearing rice&peas doesn t come wit dinner automatically. So we decided to order food this was the first time I was not too happy with the place. We waited over an hour for wings, jerk chicken, rice and beans, fried plantains and steamed cabbage. We just went out to try this place as we ve seen it in driving a couple time. This was the worse experience we ve had since moving to Texas a few months ago. Firstly, no Jamaicans worked here, this should have been the first red flag. We ordered 2 fish meal which are done to order. We ordered 1 escovich fish with Rice and peas, the other was brown stew fish with white rice. We sat for at least an hour and a half and it was dead in there, maybe 4 ppl outside of us (Got there around 6:30pm, left 9:05) we had planned to dine in but took it to go because of the wait. Firstly, the fish wasn t scaled properly, and the food tasted horrible. The person cooking simply isn t accustomed to Jamaican food. We also found chicken bones In the brown stew box as if they used chicken gravy on the fish. Needless to say we threw these away. Wasted $90 which includes an auto 15% gratuity. Don t waste your money ppl. And for this establishment, stop using Jamaican culture without respecting it.

Had a chance to step into the One Love Lounge and try out some of their dishes. Its always great to find another restaurant that specializes in Caribbean cuisine. The music is also on point. I havent had an opportunity to attend one of the live entertainment shows, but well see what the future holds. So heres the hard part: the response to customer feedback is cringe worthy. There is nothing more upsetting for potential clients to read than argumentative responses from a business. These responses are part of the customer experience and it makes it extremely difficult to support a business that responds in that manner. Graciousness goes a long way. I was here this past Saturday to celebrate my best friend birthday. We had an amazing time. The owner is one of the most kindest people I know. He made sure my friend had a wonderful time. I ordered some food from here. The chicken patties was completely dryed out. Now the curry chicken rice peas and cabbage nasty the rice old and taste like they boiled the rice to death the cabbage was overcooked the chicken it had more big bones than meat. I took the plate back ,the owner refused to take it back he stated that. I ate most of the food, that was a complete lie. And he refused to give me my money back. Theres no where that state no refunds inside the restaurant or on the receipt. I left the restaurant and throw the food away and now. Im very sick. I have threw up my food twice and. I have the runs. I was here a couple nights ago for an event for my country I was at table that my friends had picked. I didnt order any food , later on my friends went home and I stayed I was approached by a server saying that someone did not pay their food. But the way this server communicated this was very unprofessional saying they were going to look at the camera and if we were talking to this people who supposedly left without paying we were gonna pay the consequences . I decided to call my friend and ask her about it, she said they paid for their food but still send me the money to pay them again so They stop bugging me . I found this very insulting the way this server approached us. We end up finding out this was done to another person too and who knows how many more people had to deal with this. . I will never go back to a place who do this to their costumers they should teach their servers manners, first ask not go and accused people like we were stealing when we didnt even knew about any food bought because we got there late. My first time there and last one. I found the place very cool and all but the way the server dealt with that situation ruined my whole night.

Oxtails and Curry Chicken is delicious!! The chef did a great job, and I plan to visit again.!!!! 17 June visit: The music was entirely too loud. The waitress was unable to hear my order. We had lunch here . I ordered the oxtail , rice and cabbage. The oxtails were tender and very tasty. And the owner made me a mango margarita that was so good I ordered another. The owner of this establishment is a thief. Did not provide part of my order and refused not refund my money. Instead acknowledging that they did not have rum cake readily available they took the order anyway then proceeded to wait over an hour and half and did not provide the cake. For a Caribbean restaurant I was really disappointed with the portion size. My $14 jerk chicken plate should have it at least a quarter leg of chicken on it. They gave me a leg and have not even half of the thigh. The rice and peas was very bland.

If I could give half a star for the food would. I am genuinely lost for words. I have cant begin to describe the blasphemy I witnessed when I had my food. In the 23 years of life I have, out of the 20 of those, I spent being raised in Jamaica, I am appalled, for lack of a better term. The oxtail I bought. Was a disgrace, the sad excuse for fish, DISGRACEFUL. I was so upset I threw it away without thinking. Didnt even get the chance to take a pictures. I was so looking forward to it. Never again. In short, To whoever the owner is and whomever is associated, claiming Jamaica and ruining our reputation and food, I would revoke your Jamaican card and ban you from the island. The place was very quiet. No music or t.v on just a buzzing sound from the stereo sound system. It ruined my appetite, to be honest. The guy attending us seemed to not care what was going on. I can also tell that the beef patties were frozen, not fresh. Felt over charged almost 80 bucks for the quality I was given.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced!! More djs than customers. I placed an order online a hour ahead of time only for PLANTAINS waited 2 hours and they weren t ready claim They were busy and it was not busy at all !! Took a very long time for someone to assist me and when they finally did they were rude and I didn t even get the plantains because it very much upset me !!!! Jamaica Gates across the street had way better customer service and good will never waste my time coming here again with such rude people I walked in with a smile on my face and left out so upset ! Can t even hear with the extra loud music And who ever replied to my comment lied I knew I had to pay for the food I got upset because who ever at the front had an attitude and I waited 2 hours for food!! After I said I waited that long they claimed they were just busy but it was also other people in there that I talked to that said they waited 2 hours as well ! Please don t try to discredit my review. As soon as I walked in instead of saying hello someone stated well dang how many people are coming to pick up this order which confused me as well

I absolutely LOVED the food & LOVED the service. I hate that this place has bad reviews. It was very slow when I was there but the food was SO GOOD I ordered a second meal! I have been to Jamaica Gates and I really dont remember the experiences I had there over the past few years. Thats why I dont go back. I know I liked the plantains- but besides that, we were not impressed enough to ever go back. At this restaurant I loved the food so much I ordered a second meal immediately after finishing the first! And the server/bartender was sweet and very helpful. The food came out VERY quickly. I am writing this after trying to go back again tonight for more delicious jerk chicken, but it is so late that they are of course closed. I will be back soon!!!

We went here last night and this was the worst experience I had ever had. The jerk mac and cheese was not good, the pattys well just that patties. The service was horrible. We walked in and no one greated us. We had to ask where do we sit. Then you want to charge 5% on every bill. My wife left a post and your reply was a total LIE!. -_- I should have known the food was going to be bad because not a single soul was in the place and the white lady said she don t even eat the food -_- I read the reviews but I was like ppl be lying, let me try it out! I ordered curry goat with rice and peas and cabbage and cocoa bread -_-. The goat was ok but the unseasoned cabbage was hard as hell, along with my freezer burnt cocoa bread. The rice and peas were unseasoned and bland, I had to use the curry sauce to make it taste better-_- I asked if they gave a good portion of goat or if I should buy a side of it, and he told me they gave good portions. That was a lie! I should have gotten extra. This is my first time ever here. I eat a lot of goat as I only eat goat meat and seafood. So my body knows when I have eaten something I shouldn t have. Nevertheless I have been on the toilet with diarrhea for the LAST TWO DAYS! Something was cooked with beef, chicken, or pork..and I asked if it was and he said no. This was the most horrible experience I have ever experienced with a dine in club, The party was reserved and only allowed to bring birthday cake Had to purchase triple priced drinks and overly priced food in house. Caribbean where? Felt like a house/EDM club, lounge whatever. we reserved this dining hall for birthday. Overcharges Wine and Food Food was nasty, salty other food was bland. Refund is needed This is in response to the review of my review. Not one reggae song or over 40s. And if you referring to the gentleman that tried to get everyone in higher Spirits because the music was agitating and annoying dancing then you dont know how to read the room. I do know that there were approximately five DJs and all DJs paid played EDM/house music. The last I recall the bill was settled by a different party/my sister-in-law paid however I will not respond to any more past the, yes we will never come to this place neither will anyone we know will never come to this place. $11.99 bottle of Moscato that you buy Walmart we were charged $75 for 1 x 2 for a total amount for the wine (wines) $151.81. The food was nasty and horrible; goat meat salty, rice bland, macaroni horrible, vegetable rice a disgrace to any culture....irregardless if you knew we were having a dinner, the the house music/EDM a DJ congregation should have been scheduled another day or we should been given the option to choose if we did not want to listen to that rubbish. I do know one thing after reading many of your reviews at this establishment, the person that actually booked and reserved this dinner should not have ever entered those/your doors. I went to this restaurant and was HIGHLY disappointed in the customer service and the treatment that my friend and I had. I contemplated back & forth if I should make this review or not. But, how we were treated was totally unacceptable!! As a business owner and in the customer service industry this was the worst I have ever received! When we get there we were seated and we ordered our drinks (which was the best part about our evening there and listening to the karaoke singers perform!) before ordering our food! I decided to order the Curry Chicken with the Mac & Cheese & Vegetables (Cabbage)... Well, the menu stated that the Mac & Cheese was MAC & CHEESE! When our meals came our food was served with To- Go plates... We noticed that our Mac & cheese was brownish... We were shocked... But, we still tried it. Come to find out... It was JERK MAC & CHEESE! I took 2 bites and could not eat the rest. It was not good to us at all. Lite Spicy Jerk Sauce with the noodles and Cheese on top! Okay, if thats what yall were serving... That should have been disclosed on the menu because we would not have ordered that Mac & Cheese if we knew it was going to be Jerk Mac & Cheese! My curry chicken, rice & peas was decent... The Cabbage was not cooked all the way but that wasnt a big deal to me... I was just planning on bringing back home to cook a little longer to my preference! So, our waitress comes back around to us and we told her that we did not like our Mac & Cheese and would like to either take it off of our bill or exchange. So, she left and went to the back & ask the manager what she should do. So, she told us that we can exchange. So, I said I will take the Vegetables... Well, when she went to go put the order in.. the manager told her that we could not exchange or get a refund... & Pointed at a sign that was BEHIND us & that we did not see or know about until she pointed out... That there are no refunds or exchanges!! So, at this point we wanted to talk to the manager because we needed to express our concerns about the whole ordeal. Well, she went to go get her and the MANAGER said that she could not come out because she was fulfilling Doordash orders! So, theyd rather lose out on a Customer & this whole thing couldve been avoided! We were not trying to start any trouble or cause problems! We just wanted to be treated fairly! & It just escalated so quickly! I mean what if we had kids with us and we ordered Mac & cheese for them and it was jerk Mac & cheese... I mean its just unbelievable! Ive had Jamaican Mac & Cheese all throughout my adulthood and never had anything like this & the service as well! Just posting this so other consumers would be aware!

On 15 Jan 2022 approx 3pm I arrived at the Restaurant and placed a takeout order for oxtails. I ordered the oxtail dinner it came with rice and peas and cabbage. I didnt ask for anything special and nothing extra. I even left a tip. I got home all excited to eat my oxtails and it was horrible. There was so much gravy on my oxtails well over everything and it was extremely salty. I called the Restaurant and spoke to the Manager who told me sometimes people ask for extra gravy but I was not that person who asked for anything extra. He took down my name and number and was supposed to get back with me but it didnt happen. I at least thought he would have made the order back up to me but no. No call and no show of appreciation for me spending money at this Restaurant. I ended up throwing my food in the trash I couldnt eat it. Oxtails are not cheap. I will not be back.
