I had a bad experience with the My Eye Doctor franchise by Dr. Smith and Alexys. They made mistakes with my eyeglass prescription and the replacement they provided. Despite this, they refused to rectify the situation, leaving me with poor vision for a year. I recently switched to Broome Optical, where I had a great experience. They were able to determine the correct prescription for me. I was also unhappy with the anti-glare blue screen coating that My Eye Doctor used. It caused a heavy blue reflection in all my photos, making it impossible to see my eyes. When I raised this issue, they dismissed it and didnt offer a solution. I felt like they were more concerned with making me look vain rather than addressing the problem. Broome Optical, on the other hand, understood the type of coating I had and helped me choose a better option. The people to whom I have referred to Dr. Smith have also encountered issues. I believe he does not manage his business well, so he has opted to join a franchise. I will continue supporting local businesses and stick with Broome. I would have told him this in person had he returned my calls.

I had a nice experience here. I was able to book my appt online and they also accepted my insurance, which many other places I looked at around the area did not. I got fitted for contacts that felt perfect. This is tricky for me because I have severe astigmatism in both eyes. The doctor seemed to understand exactly what I needed! It was relieving to feel like I was in good hands. I haven t worn contacts in years and felt nervous to part from my usual eye glasses. The staff was also friendly and conversational. The customer service I received was excellent and I would return here again for an eye exam. Their in-situ products are marked up pretty high though so I wouldn t buy my entire years worth prescriptions there. However, the exam + a 3 month supply of contacts was more than sufficient and I saved a lot of money as opposed to out of pocket. I ll likely go online to reup on contacts or new glasses in the future. Their precision contact lenses are very comfortable and I highly recommend

I have had nothing but amazing customer service and care from everyone at MyEyeDr. on Wolflin Square. Dr. Smith was thorough and knowledgeable. He took his time explaining to me all of the issues and non-issues about my eye health. He is very friendly and personable. I enjoyed learning different aspects about my sight that other doctors have never taken the time to tell me. I want to praise all of the staff, from the young lady that did the pre-exam to the very nice woman at reception. I have been in multiple times to have my eyeglasses adjusted, and I am always attended to within minutes. Everyone is very professional, yet down to earth and fun. There is a young man named Esteban that helped me a few weeks ago to pick out new frames. He is awesome! He was training that day and yet he was knowledgeable and super friendly. Today when I went in to pick up those new glasses, he once again helped me. He made sure the fit was right and that I liked them. All the while complimenting me and making me laugh. This is what true customer service is all about. Its a shame that its more of a rarity today to find gems like this young man. Thank you, Esteban! As customers, we want to feel not only welcomed, but also feel that we can trust these individuals with very important things like our sight. This location of MyEyeDr. with Dr. Blake Smith gives you those thing and more. I highly recommend!!

I had an appointment and wasn t sure where they were located, so I used the map on my phone. Directions took me to a place that doesn t exist and due to traffic and just driving trying to find my way to their office, I was 15 minutes late . I tried to explain to them what happened and instead they said I couldn t be seen since I was so late. I do not recommend this place at all. The young girls in the front weren t interested in what I was saying and chose to reject my appointment or try to reschedule with me. They weren t busy as there was only one lady there waiting. Horrible place! I wish I could give ZERO stars. I drove in from out of town, too. Update: After reading these other reviews, I m very glad that I scheduled somewhere else. I dodged a huge bullet! It s the office staff that needs to be reprimanded on customer service. They were both very rude. Makes me wonder if the office staff is ever 10 to 15 minutes late for work

I scheduled an appointment uploaded my insurance and then when I got in there, they told me that I would have to pay an extra hundred to $150 to get contacts and I would also have to pay an extra $100-$150 to get an eye photo done that is not covered by insurance, but they would not see me unless that got done so in total I would have to pay $200-$300 extra Just to be able to get seen for contacts and glasses. Even though I have insurance and they are considered in network.

Horrible place!! I will never do business there again!! The staff is rude except for one or two employees and the prices are through the roof. You can go elsewhere and get three pairs for what you pay for one pair there. My prescription was not right, and they did not care to help. A certain staff member was rude, and very unhelpful and snapped at me about returning them and told me I had to wait 4 weeks to be seen again. My friend got glasses there the same time I did and went to a different place and had his insurance ran and come to find out they overcharged him. This place is an absolute rip off for one pair of glasses is almost $400.

Trash. Never in my life have I had an eye specialist screw up a glasses order 3 times in 1 month. Then treat me like it was my fault that they lost my frames and dropped the ball. No accountability and garbage customer service. The staff there are a bunch of C U Next TuesdayS! Do not recommend this location at all. Zero stars, more like 5 deuces.

I unfortunately don t have vision insurance yet but luckily they were able to get me a bundle deal that helped lower the cost coming out of my pocket. Amazing experience! From check-in to choosing my glasses. As soon as you walk-in you feel welcomed and taken care of. The technician was kind and very knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything they were doing. Dr. Smith is very professional and thorough. He was kind and made me feel comfortable. Jessica was amazing! She was patient as I choose my frames. She took the time to walk my through my insurance coverage and explained their offers. She patiently and kindly explained the cost for different additions that I was curious about. Overall, she did a great job! Everyone together made this such a great experience! My appointment was scheduled for 8:30. I was the first patient. I was called back to do the test at 8:36. I was put in the room at 8:45 and was told the doctor would be in shortly. At 9:02, I stepped out of the room and ask is the doctor in. I was told he wouldnt be in until some time after 9. I left the place. How rude for medical staff to not value patients time. If someone would have come to the room to tell me the doctor was running late, instead of me having to ask. I will never go to this place again!

I called in to get my contacts and found out there was an issue with my insurance. Rather than explain it to me and help me figure out what was going on the woman who answered the phone was rude and passive aggressive. Cut me off multiple times to talk down at me. And I was seemingly annoyed that she had to have this conversation multiple times as my mother had called her at some point before this. Something that she stated herself. Now I dont live with my parents and had no way of knowing that all of this happened. And the only reason we had this argument was because I asked to pick up my year supply of contact which she lied and told me I didnt pay at first. This was by far the most bizarre and unnecessary argument that Ive ever had with an eye doctor as I was just trying to find some way to get my prescription as now no matter what Im stuck without a way to clearly see for the next three weeks.

Bought a pair of glasses from them at a cost of over 1000.00 dollars and told them before I left I could not see. Dr was not concerned in the least. The glasses sit in my drawer because they refuse to do anything or help get the prescription right. When Dr Houghton owned it before this current person. I never had any trouble and went to Dr Houghton for over 25 years.I refuse to give him the respect of Dr. Ill just say person never bothered to address my issue just told me sorry there was nothing he could do. Went about a year ago and the doctor was very speedy and rude, telling me it was normal for things to be a little blurry? Now my prescription has been foggy and blurry for an entire year, even though that has NEVER happened to me at any other eye doctor. I also broke my glasses and they refused to fix them even for a fee so I m out of luck and won t be back here next year. About a month ago I went in for my yearly appointment, and I ordered some more contacts. Well a month went by and I hadnt heard anything from them so I called and the front ladies told me my contacts had been picked up. So, I told them it was not me who picked them up and they said Oh well we can order them for you it should take a week I said that would be great. I went in today 6/16/23 to pick them up and they gave me two (2) individual contacts. They were rude the entire 2 minutes I was in there to order more. My husband went in for an appointment, picked out glasses, they worked with us on getting the price to a more accurate cost, eye doctor we saw was great. THEN, two and a half weeks pass with no word on the glasses. (Mind you, we had to drive 2 hrs for this appointment and will have to drive 2 hrs to pick up the glasses.) When we called on 06/07/23, we were told the glasses had been shipped and should arrive by Thursday, 06/08. We called Friday, 06/09 to check on the status. The woman who assisted said there was a delay in the lab and the glasses would ship next week sometime. When we asked about the status update we received Wednesday, she was rude and said that s what they were told. We then said we have others in the family who needed appointments and glasses and if this is the normal wait time. Again, we have to drive 2 hrs and have to make plans. She said You are welcome to cancel those appointments. Have a good day. And hung up. We absolutely will not be returning here and are hugely disappointed since this place got good reviews. Plus we still have to wait at least another week for these glasses, putting it at nearly 4 weeks. We can understand things getting backed up, we can understand miscommunication. But to be hung up on and being treated so rudely is uncalled for.

Went to take my parents to get their glasses adjusted at fit for the first time and instead of adjusting them the lady cleans the lenses and tells my dad they are crooked because he has one ear higher than the other. Needless to say he couldnt see out of them #1 and #2 he tried to adjust them himself and they broke. Had she done her job instead of being critical we wouldnt have to go get new ones. Compassion is totally out the window!

But he made me feel comfortable and assured me that we would keep a close eye on things the girls in front were really nice but a little less informative about pricing. After she had me sitting down and signing papers to the tune of $553 for 1 pair. She could tell I was upset.! Im single and she never once mentioned some maybe cheaper glasses or even taking my prescription elsewhere! Was very impressed with friendliness os staff. Checked on pricing of sunglasses and was happy to see they were less expensive than Walmart. When I saw the Dr and had my testing the staff tried to explain everything to me. The Dr went over each test and explained the results. Everybody here is always very nice, very helpful. They dont look over your shoulder while you browse, and dont try to upsell you. The staff always give you all the options and will talk through them with you, and give you the prices before you agree. The eye exams are processed and evaluated by state of the art equipment and well-trained professional staff. Since I am a two-time cancer survivor, I greatly value Dr. Smith s watchful evaluation of changes and progression in my eyes from chemo, medications, and from the natural aging process. Having persistent dry eye syndrome, Dr. Smith carries Oasis Tears that greatly relieves and manages dry eye symptoms. I also enjoy the beautiful appearance of the reception area and the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the office staff.
