the Trap House was sooo stinking FUN!!! Izzy is the best! She was kind and patient, helpful and kept it fun! I love how she made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make us feel important! Stopped by this location during a road trip through Texas and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 10/10 Dont let the look on the outside fool you about the quality on the inside. Its called The Trap House for a reason. When we first arrived at the building it was not open despite its hours saying otherwise. A quick call to their number and they promptly drove to the location and let us in (less than 5 minutes). They explained that they usually only open it up when theres a booked room because of overhead and such. After being let in we had the pleasure of talking with the owner who gave us some insider information to the town and best food places where locals go. He suggested Green Chilly Willies which was an AMAZING recommendation. Once his other staff member he proceeded to leave the setup to her. She allowed us to do the Bates Motel haunted room despite there only being 2 of us. Room was well thought out and puzzling enough to keep us thinking! We did beat the room and had to give it to them for their props. 10/10 experience.

The 80 s style room, Time Warp (I think), was totally tubular! Not only we re all of the clues clever and fun, but absolutely everything worked the way it was supposed to. The manager that was there with us today was so kind and helpful and even gave us a few extra minutes to finish up. I also loved that the room incorporated so many aspects, including music, which was awesome. I fully recommend and will definitely be returning next time we are in Amarillo!!

As a surprise, my wife set this up for our 18th Anniversary and I was pretty excited. We get into the waiting room and everything seemed a little rushed, as if the workers were short handed, or overall tasked. We ended up getting the instructions all seemed well for the start of the event. We got into the room and had several difficulties with equipment malfunctions and had to restart a couple times, in which we got a little frustrated, but nothing too bad. During the investigation we had a hard time hearing some of the ques/clues and had to work through the extra issues to get moving forward. Unfortunately we came up short...but how short, we had no clue. The event needed and we stood by for a few minutes with no communication, so we step out of the entrance and was greeted with a congratulations, and I said, well thanks, but we failed??? This led to us being semi-ushered our the exit and no explanation of the event. Is this normal with all these places? Overall I was not happy with the experience and would not recommend, nor plan on coming back...to this location at least.

Would give 0 stars if possible. At a minimum, whatever you do, do NOT do the Victoria s Secret room. From the other reviews it seems the other rooms are better, but our experience overall was not enjoyable. There were more red herring (aka pointless puzzles) than actual clues that related to the room. The hints are prerecorded and not helpful at all, and the ending is disappointing and not associated with the clues. Save your time and money and avoid at all costs.

It was so much fun! My group did two rooms back to back which is not normally how things are done but the owner was so accommodating and very nice. I had also screwed up ordering tickets and he worked with me to make sure our experience was the best. The building itself is awesome and I enjoy that they offer more adult experiences vs kiddy stuff bit they do have both. We got stuck in one room but conquered the other. Our group loved it but my one critique is that both rooms were so hard to see that we had to pull out our phones to light up the room enough. It was to create an atmosphere but I wish flash lights were provided it would have added to the experience a little more and not taken us out of it to be able to see. Otherwise would recommend and we all are talking about going back.

Husband and I did Time Warp. The theme was super fun, although most of the time it was frustratingly dark. A few of the puzzles were less brain-teaser and more time wasting , which I personally dont care for. I paid $50 for the both of us, which is about half the price of most escape rooms Ive been to, and we were able to start immediately with no wait time, which was cool. Altogether a pretty inexpensive and enjoyable way to spend an hour

We did the new Voice from Beyond, open concept room. Now the people who worked here seemed nice enough, but... it was a really, really bad experience. If youve been to other professionally designed escape rooms, like we have, youll be amazed at how bad this room is. Puzzles are either impossible or easy enough that you can guess. Getting a hint from the staff is a joke. You basically have to walk up to the front and get them. Our helper didnt give us hints, she just solved the puzzles for us. The open concept is basically just a way of saying that there is no room, it just uses the space between the other rooms, which all look more fun. The environment for this experience seemed to lack any cohesion or theme, just a collection of random spaces with dirty furniture purchased from a thrift shop. Also, not having a visible timer really limits the tension. When we finished we were kind of confused. The bored teenager helping us just sorta shrugged her shoulders and said, ok thats it. Very anticlimactic. It was such a bad experience i was actually laughing as we drove away. My wife was considerably less amused. The fact that we paid 50 bucks for this certainly didnt help. I harbor no ill will for the people who run this place and maybe their other experiences are much better, but i wouldnt recommend their new Voice from Beyond, scientist gone crazy, open concept - whatever they call it. If youve never been to an escape room before you might like it, idk. For you pros out there, probably best to save your money.

We paid a lot of money to get in this place and some lady popped her head in when we thought we had a clue and was very unprofessional to us. We will never go here again first time coming here. Best escape room is the xscape room downtown they are always professional and are not rude. EDIT: I wasnt the one who booked the room. Also, I never mentioned I was in the Freak Show room so clearly you knew exactly what room I was talking about. We did still pay for one person. Learn to take some constructive criticism. Good luck with your business. Ill leave it at 3 stars because it still wasnt that bad. ORIGINIAL: I think the people were very nice and they are definitely working in the right direction, but the room we did was very confusing and had a very messy flow to it. The room was also extremely dark and require a lot of reading so we had to use our own phone lights to see. Not a big deal, but I think it needs to be a little better lit at least in some areas so the pages and locks can be seen. The one key we found worked on two different locks for different containers, which was very confusing. The locks were very finicky and one jammed so bad the attendant had to come and pry it open herself. I think they could do better by ensuring their equipment works reliably. Some of the puzzles also had equipment that was either faulty or not measured well. A chain and key was a bit too short to comfortably used and a string was too short to accomplish the full puzzle it was involved with. We received a lot of help with this room due to these issues. My guest and I have done a fair share of escape rooms from other locations and agreed that this room had a terrible flow and was very confusing. We still arent sure where a code that the attendant gave us came from. The introduction/rules videos were....interesting. There was a rapping puppet that explained the rules to us in a rap. Then the rooms introduction and backstory was rapped to use by the same puppet and it was not the easy to follow. That was just weird. Very different approach than their competitors videos, which were very clear, consice, and decently produced. Overall, it wasnt terrible but it wasnt great. If they want to compete with Xcape, Cinergy and Ama Escape and Mystery, they need to polish their rooms, get better lock/key mechanisms and have more intuitive puzzles. I may come back in the future but Ill be using my other options in Amarillo first. I got a free room voucher for this visit from Coffee Memorial, so I do appreciate that. These folks had some good haunted houses back in the day. They should be able to give some good experiences in the escape room game if they can just get a few things fixed up and refined.

Showed up around 9pm on 10/30/22 signage everywhere that they were open, tried to go in door was locked, rang the bell no answer, called no answer. Sad was exited to try it out after a 25min drive, but guess not.

The mechanics and puzzles were really cool but we needed help for the last 15 minutes and couldn t get anyone. Also the large party that came in made it really hard to hear each other over them and the constant doorbell ringing for the front door of the building. Was really disappointed because the Bates Motel room was really cool. Also, we couldn t find out the end of the puzzle because there was no one available to tell us.

Really disappointed in their booking system, it somehow double booked our time slot. Now last minute we had to re arrange our plans. We had an option to get a different room but everything was booked up, even though real time booking on the calendar showed that spots were available or show up at our time and see if the other group would let us join which was their choice to say yes or no. Every room/time we picked was not an option. I don t know the women s name i spoke to on the phone but she said at this point it s ejther refund or rebook for the next day. The next day wasn t available for us as these are kids wanting to hang out after a dance. Just a suggestion to look into the booking System. Really disappointed in how this played out.
