This is a nice park with a small enclosed dog run with dog waste bags and trash barrels. There is a mixed ground cover of grass and coarse greenery (no barefooting). There are exercise areas, ample room for ball games and picnics. There are scattered shade trees throughout the park. Playground: There are play areas and exercise areas. Dog-friendliness: There is a fenced dog run on the south side of the park. Picnic area: There are scattered picnic tables around the park.

When I was in 5th grade, I lived across 11th Street from the park, the play ground was right there. There were statues, a wading pool, and a bandstand. All over the world countries have statues and it brings culture to those places. It seems Amarillo can be known for destroying culture. Also, erasing historical sites.

This park is scary for adults, let alone children. There were literally crackheads in the public bathroom with their dog and stroller full of items. I understand homeless have to carry items with them, but come on! We were scheduled to play volleyball at this park so we have nowhere to go to the bathroom! And the mens bathroom is locked. I tell my womens league team to come with security and do not go to the bathroom alone, if you must go. City of Amarillo has to do better! Toilets: Disgusting!

Great local park with lots of space. Restroom is open in summer but closed in winter due to problems. There is some playground equipment and lots of room to run around, if you picnic tables available. Good for dog walking and people walking. On the weekends there are groups who feed the homeless and give out clothes to keep them warm in the winter.

One of Amarillos bigger and older parks. Lots of nice features but it could use some improvements. There are lots of dirt trails that need to be paved sidewalks, it also needs more pedestrian lighting to feel safe at night. Awesome volleyball courts including some sand courts but Im disappointed at the lack of basketball courts that most parks here have.

Historic park southwest of downtown. A large retirement community neighbors the east side of the park, so theres a walking and exercise area purposely built for elderly citizens. The park is used for city league volleyball and has sand courts. Theres also an athletic field, picnic areas, and a small dog park. Restrooms are usually locked. The park is poorly maintained, which is a shame as this could be an amazing urban green space.

This is the park I prefer to visit in Amarillo. The older trees provide nice shade and there are swings along the walking path. During the pandemic, I have noticed more people camping out in the interior of the park; I just give them their space. We have been approached by a panhandler once. On the plus side, the city has worked on the sidewalks to keep them relatively smooth so toes dont get caught moving from section to section. There is a dog park that is perfect for small dogs. There is an exercise area designed for seniors. There are picnic areas and restrooms. I have noticed the tennis courts. In short, this is a nice park in an urban area. The outer walk is quite pleasant.
