Sunday buffet not worth the price. $45 for two adults one kid buffet. Not many options. Will stand around waiting for an item for a while just to be ignored. I gave up. Was going to eat just tortillas as they kept getting those out until I noticed kids just putting their hands all in them. Food didn t have good taste either. Messy. Chaotic atmosphere. Definitely not worth the money. Menu items however are super good. We will stick to going dinner times during the week.

we got breakfast burritos last sunday morning when la pops was closed. the chorizo potato burritos were so greasy we could not eat much of them at all. tortillas are meh. ive had their street tacos and those are fairly well. we wont be back unfortunetly though. would not recommend for anyone who eats healthy and just wants a good homemade burrito.

The carne asada had a lot of gristle and the burrito was just meat, salsa, and guac if I wanted it. Other places put beans and rice. Also whoever made it folded it half-assedly. It fell apart

I like the food here in this restaurant. But they dont trim the fat in the Menudo , which is UNHEALTHY .I guess they just put it in to make it look like more menudo. Went to eat with my relatives at Armandos and we had to sit in a dirty table that wasnt cleaned. They need to keep up with as soon as the people are finished eating they need to wipe the tables clean. Also there was no tongs to use in the tortillas. People just stick their hand in the tortilla container and just grab tortillas.

We spent 20 dollars on 2 burritos and a kids meal with waters only to drink. The Guisada burrito was a solid 5/10, however the chicken fajita burrito we had was gross. The kids meal was fine. Its pretty sad because Armandos used to be my #2 spot for burritos here.

There is this lady in the afternoon I dont know her name but shes in her late 20s she seems like she HATES her job, because every time we order food, theres like 10 of us at a time and she wont even repeat the order at the end. She gave me the wrong chile relleno today. She has hanged up the phone before. We are a crew of hard working people who just want to get our food and eat but she always has the WORST attitude, I asked her what her schedule there is so I WONT go the days shes there. I like the food and drive thru option but please fix the potholes before they ruin customers cars. The Exterior smells bad, especially in the drive-thru. DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE! Wow! When I arrived there was no one in the drive-thru. I pulled up and ordered two burritos, carne guisada and chorizo and egg. What surprised me is when the lady said the total was $12! I didnt ask and just went along with it. I thought maybe they are giant burritos. So, I paid and went about my business. The service was relatively quick and I had my burritos and drove off. The parking lot and drive-thru are terrible! They have giant holes and theyre completely unavoidable. By the time I bounced to the edge of the parking lot I was frustrated by the pot holes and shocked at the price. I made it back to the office to eat and pulled out my expensive burritos. They were bigger than I expected but definitely not big enough to be $6! I felt like I got ripped off. Then, as I bite into my Carne Guisada burrito its not even carne guisada. Its filled with rice and beans! They overcharged me for my burritos and then put cheap filler in them! This really upset me. It wasnt even a real carne guisada burrito. I would not spend my money here. Their prices are too high and they put cheap filler in their overpriced food. I WILL NOT EAT HERE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY FAR AWAY FROM ARMANDOS!

My husband and I live in Dallas but we are from Abilene. We were visiting this weekend so when we woke up today we wanted breakfast (or so we thought) lol we went to every Mexican place we could think of and pulled up to Armandos the last place we thought of. To us it was the old Taco Bueno because we have never been here as Armandos but we re told by my husbands sister and my uncle that it was a good place. They were right! This place has the best food! We left there stuffed. They have a buffet on Saturday and Sunday and we ordered that to taste a little of everything. We love their food and recommend to everyone to eat here at least once you wont regret it! My husband says FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Decided to eat here while in town. As a food service inspector I will say I saw a lot of Violations occurring while I dined in this establishment. 1st observation was the cook talking and holding his cellphone. 95 % of cellphones are highly contaminated with decal matter and various other forms of viruses and bacteria and are permitted from being used on a cook line. Secondly I observed the prep employee eating crispy tacos as she was chopping fresh tomatoes. She had no gloves on her hands, saliva was being transmitted to the item being prepped. and again eating while cooking or preparing food for service is absolutely not permitted in any food establishment. Lastly a kitchen employee was observed entering the restroom followed by entering the salsa and chip area to stock and refill salsa. Hands were not washed in customers view to ensure food safety and no contamination. I will be notifying the local health dept of my observations. Food was poor in quality Fish tacos were bland Fish resembles Gortons fish filets. Beans were from a can and rice was not flavorful. Would not return nor recommend to eat here.

Updated review- customer service here is not great. Workers have attitude and food is mediocre. Definitely not worth the customer service youll get. Carne asada is dry , over salty and tastes like onion also the meat looked kind of gray. The shrimp cocktail was gross and tasted like sweet ketchup, I tried to add some hot sauce to it and some more avocado, lime ect but nothing could help it. I only took a few bites and ended up throwing it away. The only good thing about this place is the salsa and they are VERY stingy with the salsa for to go customers. 40 cents per 2 oz to go. When we get salsa the workers are mean mugging/eyeing you to see how much salsa you get or if you get a little bit of chips from the open salsa bar they get an attitude. My husband is the only one that thinks the food is decent. But I dont agree.

I had the combination plate. Taco was good but the enchilada sauce was slightly warm and the cheese was inside was cold. The sauce tasted like it was from a can. The hot sauces were good and business seemed clean. Besides the enchilada sauce and styrofoam plates it was OK. Hot food should not be in styrofoam. I would eat tacos again but not enchilada.

Weve order out from here 3 times in a roll except when we got an wrong order but that didnt stop us because we got it again today my family loves it to if your new to the area this is a good place to try and great packing sometimes but that ok if you know what I mean. Never gotten sick from eating and I dont think there are any nuts in the meals but just in case check for your self. I have never ordered from a restaurant that is more stingy with their hot sauce. Im spending $30-$40 in the drive thru every single time, & this is the 2nd/3rd time they havent given ANY hot sauce at all, even after specifically asking for extra. I was looking for a good place for street tacos. I figured with as many Mexican restaurants in town that would not be hard but most places don t have them. I seen they had them and figured I would give them a try. Hands down the best I have ever had. Worth the price especially with a Mexican coke comes out to under $15. Update: The caldo de res is pretty bad, the broth is all heat, no taste and the meat is tough. $13 for a large too, probably the most in town unless its gone up everywhere. Food is pretty good, but it is a hit or miss on service. The older lady there is the best with customer service. Order is sometimes wrong or overheated during busy hours or closing time. Decent prices, nice staff and excellent food each time we come it is well worth the $20 we spend on our two plates of tacos. Recommend the steak street tacos, they are amazing. We may or may not have gotten the same thing for the 5th time the other day in less than a month lmao. We ve gone there for lunch and dinner both times the food is equally as good.
