1) Its pretty clear that parks & rec isnt going to improve the splash area with more shade & benches. 2) If youre a responsible parent, beware of the kids whose parents are on their phones not paying attention and the kids who are either from the neighborhood or just dropped off without parents or babysitter. Its those kids who are the trouble makers 95% of the time. Its getting exhausting when I have to tell unwatched kids to stop hitting my kids. I understand parks & rec has no responsibility hence at your own risk however seeing the same behavior over and over again, perhaps parks & rec should look into this before something bad happens.

While my kids were playing a piece broke off of one on the sprayers. The restroom had been vandalized by someone spraying it with a grape soda. Bigger kids are on the equipment interfering with the younger kids. I understand that the city cant be held responsible for these things. However, can cameras be placed to dissuaed this behavior and vandalism?

One of the best ones in Abilene. 2 slides. Only drawback is this particular location is lacking alot of cover. This is in comparison to many of the others around town. But this is our go to out of them all. Cleanest park. (In our opinion)

Great for the little guys!! Beautiful done! I love all of the splash pads Abilene has built. This side of the park has absolutely NO TREES! Three stars are only because of the lack of shade and seating. Otherwise it would have been a 5! Needs way more seating!! Shade for the adults! When I was here (being a grandparent on medication, disabled and cant be out in the sun to much) there was absolutely no place for me to set ( all seating taken up by childrens clothing, shoes, bags, of course needed the babies and families, strollers and I was left to stand in 3-4 pm sun along with many other older grandparents there!!! I counted 3 benches and one table (for sure) even one bench was not even near any type of sunshade.

This is a nice splash pad for kids. There is plenty of water spraying to keep the kids wet and there are two water slides. All of this is partially covered. There is also a small river feature where water is pumped into a small reservoir and then flows slowly down the river. There is also covered seating for parents.
