Spent $30 and waited 40 minutes for bad attitudes, overcooked biscuits, and already cooked microwave bacon. No cheese on a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. An over easy egg that was all hard over fried crispy edge. Ordered ranch and didnt get it either. Even asked about it again when our food finally got dropped off, and we still never saw it. Weve been here before and enjoyed it, but it seems like the care is slipping out the back door. Pretty bad all around.

This place has a really good concept and we were excited to try it! We got the Hoss and the Chicken and Not-a-Waffle. Both were alright. Biscuit was soft and warm, chicken was juicy. However, I dont think the prices reflect the quality/quantity of the food, especially the coffee. It was $3.30 for one 12oz cup. It was bitter, acidic, and lukewarm. There wasnt really a wow factor with the food, it was exactly what it said it was, nothing more, nothing less. We will probably return in the future but it wont be our first choice.

I had the sweet potato tots and the grilled chicken biscuit. The tots were freshly cooked, hot, and were eaten with theit in house made ranch dressing. Although the ranch was very good, I dont think it matched well with the tots. However, I would love to come back and have them with their loaded tot option. I also loved the biscuit bun and how crispy and delicious they were! I hope to be back soon!

Two weeks ago we went for the first time. I found the restaurant on line as we were looking for a place we had never been before. We were out of towners and we couldnt have picked a better place. The Hoss was so good. My husband got the burger and my Mom got the Monte Cristo. All our food was demolished. There were no leftovers at all. It was nice and cool in there too. I definitely will be going back my next trip to Abilene.

Food was ok. I had biscuit and gravy which was run of the mill, biscuit was tough. Loaded tots were soggy and cheese was all you could taste. Their coffee machine was broken so no ice tea. Draft cola was mostly water. Help was friendly, although we noticed someone had a puppy in a carry bag on top of one of the tables. Glad we tried this business but we won t be back.

my family and i love the biscuit bar but every time we go we get awful service from one gentleman that s at the register. today we ordered 3 cesar salads to which he brought all three out 2 with dressing 1 with none. instead of communicating that they needed to make more he just dropped everything and walked away. forgetting also that we asked for honey and jelly as well as extra paper trays cause we were sharing. i and multiple members of my family had to go up and continuously ask for stuff that we had already asked for and were never given. was given 2 small trays because he needed to find more - he never gave us any communication to if he even looked. never got our honey or jelly and we had to wait 25 minutes for cesar dressing. and when it was done instead of coming and giving it to us we had enough packed up and asked a third time for dressing. all of this could have easily been avoided if he communicated with us. don t bring food and walk away. we clearly ordered a cesar salad so why drop them off and not say a word? bad customer service especially for a place that had but one other family in the entire restaurant

I went there with friends for the first time today. Immediately when I walked in it was hot inside. The AC needed to be turned up way more than it was. The service was friendly. They have metal chairs in front of the booths and they are hard to sit in. Metal chairs need cushions. Where you fill up your fountain drinks needs to be cleaned up more often it was kind of messy with drink spills everywhere and no napkins next to it for me to even clean real quick so I could put my coke down to put the lid on. But,... the food was AMAZING! I do not even like biscuits that much at all and these were great! Great flavor and the biscuit did not crumble as you ate it. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. My friend got the steak and egg and it was really good! The meat was tender and not chewy and was full of flavor! My friends daughter got the chicken nuggets and they were tasteless. Its like they didnt season the batter correctly or at all. Now, I understand this is not a chicken nugget place so dont get those if you go. I will definitely go back! Parking: They have extra parking in the West parking lot that makes it a lot easier to get out. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly!

Went once and never again. The tots I got were burnt, I asked for the chicken biscuit and there was supposed to be veggies and an aioli sauce but I got a dry biscuit with just the chicken breast. Asked if they could add the stuff on and they didn t. So I showed them on the menu what I ordered and what was listed for the toppings and sauce all while they were messing around with my food with their bare hands. Then they added the veggies but no aioli sauce and though I hated going up again because I m a people pleaser I told them that there still was no sauce and then lifted it up with their BARE HANDS AGAIN and said yes there is and I said that s chicken breast juice there s a huge difference..I just gave up. Never went back.

Wow!--bestest buttermilk biscuits Ive tasted, crispy bites and flaky, everything you wanted in a biscuit. Besides my grandmothers homemade biscuits, this is the best! --Im not just saying that-- theyre melt in your mouth delicious. I wish they had better selections of butter though. I ordered the burger. I was upset they were out of smoked sausage; I wanted the burger topped with the sausage. I ended up getting two breakfast sandwiches also. My wife got the hot chicken. I definitely should have ordered that hot chicken too. The chicken is next level! If Im traveling I20 I always stop in Abilene because the rooms are much cheaper than Dallas, and the local barbecue and restaurants, and bars like this make Abilene a winner. Luckily I stopped by during happy hour, discounted drink specials The trailer park Shandy is better than a comfortable double wide. Great place, they played the best country music too, its a vibe. Thanks BB

Very unprofessional. Our table of four ordered at 12:35 and did not get our order until 2:15. During our wait, we finished a mimosa carafe. One of the girls at the table went to order another since it had been an hour was shocked to hear the cashier say oh youre trying to get drunk. Then served another carafe with glasses with lip outlines on them. Where on earth is that behavior acceptable? We will not be back, and the ten other tables that walked out likely wont either.

Brought food French tst was so burnt on bottom couldnt cut it with the plastic knife. Girls got us another one had I had to go get us new plastic ware she took ours had no syrup...she came back I asked for ranch mine was a bit dry and syrup....after 15 more mins we just left took out food in the boats to go home and get ranch and syrup. Food tasted good minus the burnt one. Maybe Sunday isnt a good time to first try them lol. After I got my food home the tots had no cheese just tots sour cream on top with bacon really dry. For the cost vrs the issues Ill just go to chick fil a for a chicken biscuit...very costly for the service and food. Kid-friendliness: Great play area for the long wait.

The biscuits were really good and there was great flavor throughout. Great service and really friendly staff. My issue would be running out of ham at 2:00 pm on a Saturday and not telling the customer when ham was supposed to be on the sandwich. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it came only with turkey. Later, my son ordered a kid s ham and cheese but they came over before serving and said they ran out of ham, would turkey be Ok. Sure we said, but why wasn t I told that for the Monte Cristo? In the end, this is a small complaint. Great flavor, great service, and we ll be back. Hopefully, they ll have ham for the sandwiches that come with it.

My hot honey biscuit chicken was black. I thought it was burned. I was told it wasn t, the grease is just dark so anything cooked in it would come out that color. I wasn t allowed to exchange it for another item. They wanted me to pay for the replacement (even though the one I picked was cheaper) and wait for a refund when the manager was available. She was on the grill with another employee staring at me, not cooking. I ended up not getting anything. By the time I would have went back to the table to get my purse and wait in line again my family would have been finished eating so I just gave up and went home hungry. We finally did get a refund but I won t be going back. I m really disappointed, last time I went it was wonderful and the food was amazing. This was very upsetting, I had taken out of state relatives and bragged about the place. I regret not taking a picture of the chicken. Aren t they supposed to change out the oil in the fryers periodically?

When I got it, it was a 2 oz cup? When I asked for more they told me I had to pay more when the man sitting next to me had a 5 oz cup full. The sandwiches are tiny for 7-8$ as well. I operate on a 3-strikes system for food places. They are on strike 1 right now. First time here and I knew it would be more expensive than other places after looking at pics of the menu that others posted. Youll spend just over $7 for a bacon/egg/cheese biscuit (which it is not). After you place your order they give you a number stand to place on the table. The good: the lady taking orders was friendly, greeted me when I walked up, and had a cheerful attitude. The place was clean; I noticed it has a covered outdoor sitting area; and the ladies bringing our orders were friendly. Saw a couple people come in to get mobile orders and they had them with-in a couple minutes. Apparently if you want to take your order to-go this is how you should order (more on that later). The biscuit was flakey and had a good buttery taste and the sandwich was hot: that is were the good part of the food ended. Read further down for a detailed review of the sandwich. The bad: took almost 20 minutes after placing my order to get a simple bacon/egg/cheese biscuit to-go. One of the ladies that was taking out orders brought out the party of 5s order that was right before me in line to them in about 3 minutes. Then she brought out the single order that was after me about a minute or two after that. She stopped at a table next to where I sat where a couple was waiting and checked on them. I heard her ask if they had a to-go order and they said yes. About 5 minutes later she brought their order. I dont know how long they had been sitting there but by the looks on their faces it had been awhile. She then looked at my number stand and said something to the manager who was expediting/traying/bagging orders. I heard him call to the kitchen staff that he needed a bacon/egg/cheese to-go. I had been there about 10 minutes at that time. The two ladies that were bringing out orders brought out three more orders and one of them must have said something to the manager again about my order. I heard him repeat his call for a bacon/egg/cheese to go. About 5 minutes later one of the ladies brought it out. The worse: This place needs to take all the pictures off their website because the biscuits looked nothing like the photo. each part of the biscuit was about a credit card a half in size and about 1/4 inch thick. I almost thought that both parts were bottom halves but you can tell by appearance that they werent. The cheese sauce was all but nonexistent, maybe a drizzle. Two super skinny slices of bacon that you could practically see through. Ive seen better bacon on McDonalds breakfast biscuits. And the egg was small. Ive had more filling Jimmy Dean and Bob Evans breakfast biscuits from the freezer section. And those are actually on a biscuit! Flavor wise the biscuit was good, about the same that you would get at Wendys. These are on slightly larger than a credit card square of some flakey, buttery, crusty thing shaped like cornbread. Definitely not a biscuit. They need to shut down for a month or two and go to Florida or North Carolina and learn how to make biscuits! What they call a biscuit is something I would expect in Seattle or San Diego, not Abilene. There are a few other items on their menu I want to try. But now knowing that their biscuits are not biscuits Ill have to judge those items on the content, taste, and difference (hopefully) in service.

From the doors where you enter - Glass is hard to keep clean ( I get it ) we came in a 3:45 and there were just two customers but it looked like nothing had been cleaned since the possible lunch rush . Makes me wonder what the back looks like . The patio area was so nice ! What a great place to eat even on a 104 degree day ! I love the concept of this - maybe my 2nd visit will be better! We always wondered why this place is so dead nobody ever inside eating when the place next door is full well now we know why we stopped in food has really gone down hill from last time which sucks cause we enjoyed it but this time done it for us when you walk up to order and additional item and the two cooks are on there phone one in the food window which he gave us two looks and continued on with his phone cause obviously that was more important than what we had to order then the other cook was sitting in a booth on her phone you think she turned away from that phone.. no then the counter lady who s been in the bathroom for a lengthy time comes out and sits with the cook and gets on her phone I guess that s all they have to do considering there restaurant has zero guests eating there!

I cant believe the experience I had at this place in Abilene, Texas. I was really excited to try some local food, but let me tell you, it was a huge letdown. The customer service was fine, I guess, but the food was just plain awful. The biscuits were dry as a desert and had absolutely no flavor, and dont even get me started on the coffee it tasted like something I wouldnt even use to clean my sink. And the audacity to charge $3 for that coffee is beyond me. Im seriously regretting the $25 I wasted here its hands down one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had.

Food was just ok. Kind of underwhelming. We ordered 4 different items. My daughter ordered a biscuit with pork but when delivered the gal said they ran out of pulled pork so they substituted with steak. A tad odd they didnt say anything before handing her her food. She said the flavors didnt really go together. Our 16 yr old ordered the French toast item. It was tiny. He was done in a few bites. We sat outside. Pretty view. My salad was missing the dressing, lots of bad mixed greens I pulled out. No forks.

I really wanted to like this place. The concept is unique but the target was missed by a long shot. If youre going to offer a limited menu based around the premise of a biscuit....the biscuit should be out of this world. These were not. My family and I stopped here for lunch during a family vacation on our way out to Big Bend. There were 6 in our group and we each ordered something different so we could try out more of the menu. We tried the ever basic biscuits & gravy, the Philly, the chicken, the Monte Cristo, the chicken not a waffle and a salad. Lets just say, the only person happy with their meal was the salad eater. The only biscuit our group kind of liked was the Philly and that wasnt because of the biscuit, rather the meat. The Monte Cristo was sloppily thrown together and super soggy, as were the sweet potato tots that I ordered extra as a side. The basic biscuits and sausage gravy should be a no brainer for a biscuit bar. Not the case here. You could only find traces of crumbled sausage. Very disgusting. In summary, definitely skip over this one. Its not worth the money at all.

This was our first time to visit The Biscuit Bar. I got the F.A. B. B. and my husband got B Bar Burger and we shared an order of the Breakfast Tots. My Biscuit was fenominal. The fig jam tasted like my moms, the bacon was cooked perfectly crisp, and the Brie stayed soft and creamy until I got finished. If we have a chance to return, it will be very difficult to pick anything different from the menu. Only complaint was there was no tea, but we got something else to drink. Parking: Lots of parking close to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: I scoped out the wheelchair accessibllity and it would be very easy to get around inside the restaurant.

The food is delicious. We had egg, bacon and cheese biscuits, the southern tater tots, the biscuit bites (awesome!) and the Nanner Pudding. Everything was top notch and we will definitely be back!

I was a fan and they have amazing food but I will never give them my business again. I had two instances where I was told that I needed to sit outside with my service dog. The first time I politely told them she was a task trained service dog and she argued with me. I handed the manager a card that had ADA laws on it, she refused to read it. Shortly after the head manager came over and apologized. Told me I was knowledgeable about service dogs. The second time it was the girl at the register taking our order. Told her I had this problem last time I was in the restaurant. She was rude and uneducated also sad thing is the same manager was right there and did nothing. I know a lot of people fake having a service dog, believe me I deal with it everywhere and I dislike those people. BUT you should know when you have a legit team. Some things you should look out for: *Dogs pulling on the leash that s attached to a harness and not a collar *Barking or making any noise *Carrying dogs *Dogs who eat food on the floor or owner is feeding them *A dog that s not under the table with minimal movement. *A sit and stay

Pricey for what you get. Got the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese biscuit. Not sure what that cheese was but it didnt have much flavor. Cheese food as opposed to cheese perhaps? Orange juice was quite mediocre, out of some gallon jug. McDonalds sausage, egg, and cheese has more flavor, their orange juice is better, and probably 60% of the price.

NOT dog friendly. (At least now). I have been to The Biscuit Bar a few times and taken my dog with me. They have always let me know when I order that I need to sit on the patio with my dog and that is fine. Today on the other hand I waited in line with my dog for about 5 minutes and when I got up to order the man refused to take my order because I had my dog. He told me I had to take him outside and come back to order. I ended up just leaving because I came by myself and didn t want to leave my dog outside alone. I wish that the policy was more clearly posted. When I went back outside to look at the door I didn t see anything at first, but then saw this small sign near the ground with big letters DOG FRIENDLY and then small letters saying patio only. I now understand the policy and I am posting this review so others won t have the same experience. I gave it five stars before because I liked the food. But lowering my rating now because of the way I was treated this time.

Second time eating food from here. Decided to try again because of bogo coupon for the biscuit nuggets. Ordered 2 orders of nuggets and two sausage, egg, cheese biscuits. What I got was the two orders of nuggets and 2 bacon, egg, cheese biscuits. The nuggets were maybe 6-7 per order. Small, hard, sticky and lacking the whipped cream that would have helped to soften up the too hard balls of biscuits. The biscuit sandwiches were okay but nothing extra special. Southern comfort food is meant to be satisfying and filling. This was not. Way overpriced for the food presented. I wanted to get either juice or sodas with the order but at close to $4.50 each, that was a hard pass.

The El Jefe & Sausage Biscuits n Gravy were pretty good, although the Sweet Potato Tots were absolutely horrid and tasted like they had been previously cooked & reheated numerous times. We can excuse an oops on the Tots all day. The reason for the 2 star review is because after we quickly returned the Tots and explained the situation to the server, we were not offered a refund. Its like they were totally cool with serving horrid tasting tots and taking your money for it. Due to the service issue alone, we will not be returning to this location.

They have everything right, down to the biscuit. I believe just ordering biscuits and gravy would still be the best thing ever. We ordered the fancy chicken and the hoss. The chicken was fried to perfection and JUICY. If you can keep your chicken juicy, you know what you re doing. The honey mixed with the sausage gravy on the hoss was undeniable. If your trying to decide between something else and this, chose this. We were just driving through to get to NM and I m glad we stumbled upon this place. Lastly, the restaurant and bathroom is CLEAN and beautiful. There are photo ops and good patio seating with a pond view. Will definitely stop again the next time we drive through Abilene.
