We attended a wedding at a walk to remember recently and the head lady was complaining about the table cloths getting dirty, they were removing tables in the middle of the reception, the room with the cake cutting was terribly hot, and the owners stood over children that were running around playing. Extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend this place for a wedding.

We had our wedding at this venue in April of 2023 and it was the most magical experience ! The venue is straight out of a dream and maintained beautifully ! The owners, Tonya and Josh were extremely kind and helpful. We had very little to nothing to worry about! They have so many different decorations to pick from and Tonya was very good at executing the vision I had in my head with the supplies she had available. The staff and owners helped take care of a lot of the behind the scenes work and are extremely pleasant people. I could not have imagined a better place to have out dream wedding at !

I honestly don t even know where to start about how wonderful our experience was with this venue and with Tonya. If you re looking for a venue, this one is the place. The prices are the best in town with everything that is included! Tonya and her husband Josh were absolutely wonderful. I have been waiting 40+ years to have the wedding of my dreams and it was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. From the moment I met Tonya I knew this was the place. She took control and all the stress you would normally have with planning a wedding was non existent. She is very organized and on point with everything. I stressed to her multiple times that I didn t have a clue about how to go about planning my wedding and she took all that stress away and walked me through it every step. All the decorations, signs, etc are included. She even had bouquet s and flower girl baskets! Tonya and her husband were there the whole time making sure the wedding was fantastic every moment! I can t even put in to words how beautiful the day was!! Thank you Tonya and Josh, y all are amazing! It was and always will be A Walk to Remember!

I highly recommend having an event here!! My husband and I had our wedding celebration here back in November. It is such a beautiful place and perfect for outdoor weddings. They have a really beautiful building for reception and other indoor events. We planned on having tables and activities outside. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty cold that night and we had to move the tables and decor inside the reception hall. Tonya and her team put up portable heaters around the tables. They also have a beautiful huge fireplace which puts out a ton of heat, it really warms up the room. I absolutely loved working with Tonya! She goes above and beyond to make your vision come to life! She made my rust/terracotta boho dreams come true!! She provided all the decor and does all the decorating. There s absolutely no stress working with her and she made the process easy and fun. I honestly wished I could have taken some of the flower arrangements home, I loved them! I m not a fan of the rustic look and she had options for brides/people who don t like the rustic look. For the brides/people who do love the rustic look, she has a ton of rustic decor. Josh and Tonya are the best hosts and venue owners! Josh is a great cook. The food was great and everyone enjoyed it! Thank you Josh and Tonya for making our evening special and a night we will remember forever!!

we have had 2 events at parks place, our wedding & now baby shower. Tonya & Joshs venue is absolutely beautiful. They will go above and beyond your expectations, with passion. for our wedding we got the full service package and they took care of everything. talk about taking the stress away from your most special day. she will work with you to make sure what you envision comes to light. The food that they provided was delicious, all the guests were happy and still talk about how our wedding was the best they have been too.

Tonya is a superhero! She did ALL the things for my beautiful wedding she catered. She decorated. She organized. She ran the show and I could not have asked for a better day!! Highly recommend. Tonya and her husband have done a wonderful job through my whole process and once again, I am thankful for them. They MADE my day the best day it could have been.

Our wedding took place August 20th, 2022. We are grateful for the hospitality of A Walk To Remember. Tonya and Josh Sr were excellent hosts. Family and friends who attended had a great time despite the rain that God blessed us with. We loved the Parks Place and we recommend it. Tony & Nellie.

The place is beautiful but unfortunately you do not get what is advertised. When selecting the meal we specifically asked for chicken as one of the meats. Instead we received sausage, brisket and shredded brisket. Best part of the meal was the cupcakes and we brought them with us. The area used for dinning was not big enough to support 48 people and we expected to have 75. We were assured when we made the arrangements that venue could support up to 150 people. The room used was also promised to be air conditioned. It was not. Instead an industrial fan was used which was loud and you had to yell over the noise to talk to someone. We brought in 5 family members who were over 90 years old and the heat in this place was unbearable that most of them left early because they could not stand it. Again, we were promised it would be air conditioned and would not recommend using this place for a wedding between May-September if you don t want your guests to sweat buckets. The brides dressing area also did not have a functioning air conditioning unit that could cool the space, instead fans where brought in that circulated the air but did not help when putting make-up on the ladies who were sweating. Lastly, the chairs that are used to view the actual wedding ceremony ended up being the same chairs that are needed for your dinner, to our surprise the venue host tells the guest if you want to eat bring your seat with you . I almost feel out my chair when she said that. How can a venues that can support 150 people not be able to provide chairs for both the ceremony and the dinner when we only expected 75? Again beautiful place, that decorates and looks nice. The host of the venue is pushy but if you want someone to help you run everything this is the place just don t pick a late spring or summer wedding.

This venue was amazing!!! Tonya and Josh cared so much about every detail of our wedding and made our wedding perfect! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful to walk through, especially the waterfall area. Our theme was quite unique: we wanted a summer themed wedding with sunflowers and royal blues and greens but a 20s swing dance club feel for the reception. Tonya took on this challenge and made the venue flow seamlessly from one to the other! Josh even planted some giant sunflowers well before the wedding that blossomed the night before for us to use! They were so beautiful!! Tonya is also an amazing cook! The chicken fried steaks for our rehearsal dinner were so good!!! I highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for an outdoor venue. The outdoor area is beautiful and the indoor option is equally as amazing. However, nothing tops the feeling of ease from knowing your venue is just as excited for your party as you are (if not more), and that they will work tirelessly to make your event special. Thank you Tonya and Josh for a once in a lifetime experience and for providing the setting for a perfect wedding!

The property is gorgeous, if I were rating the property alone it would be 4.5 out of 5 stars. Gorgeous place to have our wedding in mid September, even the weather cooperated! We picked the Parks place because Tonya told us that she has so many of the little items needed in a wedding that it would be much simpler (and cheaper) because we could use any of the items she already owns for our wedding. There s also a playground and fire pit, so we were thrilled because it seemed like the most kid friendly venue we d looked at and there were a lot of children at our wedding. The deposit you expect to get back if there s no major damage, right? Wrong, Tonya will nickel and dime you for any extra expense perceived or real after the wedding. We were charged $17 for broken light bulbs, $13.73 for a broken shovel in the kids area, and our least favorite charge was $50 for ELECTRICITY. In my mind this is all the cost of doing business, we paid over $3000 for the venue and somehow that doesn t include electricity. She told us we and our guests open and closed the doors too many times and kept them open (we didn t notice this) and so her staff had to close them a lot, which once again, you have staff, this is their job why would be charged for staff AND electricity? You will be charged per person who steps on the property, not just your wedding guests, despite paying for our time. Our wedding planner who has been involved with tons of weddings at a variety of venues has never heard of this practice, EVER. Tonya will sit by the parking lot with a notebook and note what time the first and last person is on and off the property, its conspicuous and so you feel like you have to rush/herd people off quickly after the rehearsal. We were told we went FOUR minutes over our time. I get needing to set guidelines and boundaries with a property so people don t loiter, but it really ruins a lot of the fun of the event and adds stress to an important event that is unnecessary. After the pitch you will believe that she has all of the tables, linens, chairs everything that you could possibly need for your wedding, this is also not true. I think she only ended up having four round tables and not enough table cloths, so we had to rent tables from ABC rental and set those up (on our time of course) and buy table cloths. Tonya says she has hundreds of chairs to accommodate any size wedding, but you will only be able to use the number you have paid for and guests will need to move their chair from the ceremony to eat. We only had 85 people at our wedding so assumed that we could have two sets of chairs so that people wouldn t have to worry about that, nope extra charge. The folding chairs that come with the property are two toned: white backs and seats with metal joints, which is NOT the look I wanted. I sadly assumed she d have simple, elegant, all white chairs since she does this professionally. If you want that look she has some old folding chairs with wrinkled satin-ish covers she will let you use for $7 a chair. During the wedding, one of her staff was taking pictures of the ceremony with her phone, I saw her over my husbands shoulder during our vows and it was very distracting. I was hoping during the wedding the staff would be invisible and almost fade into the background, ready if needed, but instead they stood around the dance floor, very conspicuously in black t-shirts with white lettering that said something about we re not wearing masks but we re trying to social distance . It was a nice, elegant wedding, I was disappointed they didn t reflect that in their attire. I think the biggest problem is that this property is their home. It s lovely, but I don t think they know how to treat it like a business, we are not house guests we are customers. I m posting this google review because it s the only way to let people know what you re getting yourself into. We did review the contract, it s very vague I guess intentionally to allow for these surprise charges at the end. This could be a top notch place with some business classes.
