We had our yearly family photos here. Its a neat little park that manages to be beautiful despite being small and between a railroad track and a busy street. The Dr Seuss statues are neato even for us older folks, and the kids love them.

This is a cute, quick park area to walk through and see various storybook statues and exhibits. At Christmas time this area is usually decorated with lights. This park has multiple Dr. Suess exhibits. Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leashes are welcome here.

Such a fun park to walk through and either find your favorite Dr. Seuss character or refresh some nostalgia memories. We really loved that you can take pics with all of them. There s also a large fountain, benches, and shade throughout. Wonderful little park for children and adults alike. The parking lot allows for 15 minute parking but there s also plenty of street parking all around.

What a lovely little gem in the middle of historic downtown! The park is beautifully manicured, and the sculptures are very well maintained and constructed. The last 4 years I lived an hour away and I had no idea this existed. But it was truly a wonderful sight to stop and appreciate on our way to San Angelo, with a little stroll down my childhood literary memory lane.

Beautiful place for pictures. This park makes for a stunning background for memorable photographs. There are several areas to create a variety of storytelling through a lens. It is also a place where you can relax and take a breath from all the commotion by enjoying the sound of the water fountain that captivates the eyes with glimmering streams of water. Although this park is beside the train tracks, the landscape covers it well. And I have not been present at the time when the train passed by, so I cant comment on the sound. Other than that, its a small park worth the visit

A great little park and I think the second biggest collection of the storybook statues around town, besides the storybook garden next to the convention center. This park is all Seuss characters, plus a large statue near the train station and a huge fountain. Right across the street from The Grace Museum.

In most towns in America, Main Street has statues honoring the towns founders. But In Abilene, the statues in Everman Park honor The Cat in the Hat, Yurtle the Turtle, Sam I Am, and The Grinch who Stole Christmas. I wonder if they played a role in Abilenes founding since banners downtown boast Abilene as the Storybook Capitol of America.

I absolutely love this particular park. When I definitely need a certain place away from home or whatever for a few hours, this is the spot to come. Throughout the park its filled with past historic statues & childrens cartoon characters (ex: Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss, Dumbo the Elephant, etc...). Its very well maintained (cleaned, sanitized, repairs, etc...) by City of Abilene employees. Late in the afternoon about an hour before the sun sets & the temps have come down & traffic/people have settled down... this is my quite place to ponder the thoughts of my life. 2 Thumbs Up to you Abilene.

Went exploring using the app randonautica and ended up here. Nice to throw everything aside and just do something different so me and my more significant other entered a vague description of something that we wanted to see and it gives us GPS coordinates and voila! We end up here and had to call 911 because a person was walking down the street screaming the prophetic return of the messiah which was scaring people on the street. We found (in a way) what we were looking for then drove out to Anson to go see the Anson lights which if you dont know is a ghost story where the ghost of a mother using a lantern responds to you flashing your headlights 3 times from a cross roads thinking it was her children needing help (but she was to late and her children were dead by the time she arrived) beautiful at night with no city lights, its amazing what we can see without distractions, everyone should get out of their comfort zone every once in a while.
