Dark Horse used to be my go to dance hall. My friends and I went every week. Ownership recently changed and now it is the stairs. We tried going back 2 times. It was dead in there and inhospitable. The drinks were inconsistently made and priced. The dance floor has been treated by owners who do not know about dancing so the floor is tacky instead of smooth. The music they were playing was old and not danceable. So sad!

A group of us went there on Friday the 19th of April and it was a great time. A long way off from our memories of the place in ancient history. The volume of the music was not too loud (yep, we are that old), the place was clean, the drinks were well poured, and everyone was warm and friendly from the staff to the patrons. Nicely done and thank you for a great night out.

Upstairs to a magical dance hall experience. We went on a Saturday night late and it was very open. A welcome atmosphere for an older crowd not wanting to get mobbed like other places. They have 2 pool tables in back. And awesome barstaff(he had listened to my indesive conversation and had my drink ready by the time I approached) extra points! Music was good with DJ playing top hits and taking an occasional request. There is a $5+tax cover fee. And pool table comes at a cost. Drinks average $9-12.

Decided to check out Abilenes newest country dance hall. Its nice to see Guitars and Cadillacs having some competition in this sphere. 1. Cocktail Menu: Their cocktails were very delicious. I tried their jalapeno infused tequila margarita style cocktail. Has a subtle but noticable heat to it. My wife had their cocktail called Jungle Juice. Both of us absolutely loved the drinks. 2. Atmosphere: The dance floor is pretty large. Perfect amount of room to do all your spins and two step moves. Its an absolute breath of fresh air having a play list that is the same every weekend. The DJ at Dark Horse does a great job keeping the flow of the evening going. Perfect ratio of fast paced music and slow jams. The crowd the evening we went appeared to be in their early late 30s-60s. Definitely a lot more of a mature crowd without dealing with the headaches of what the young crowd can bring in. Conclusion: Dark Horse should definitely be in your rotation of places to go out and have a fun time. Their drink menu is well crafted and carefully selected. Their service has a great attention to detail and their atmosphere is great. All in all Id definitely come back to Dark Horse for a night on the town.

I was very pleased with how clean this place was, including the bathrooms. There was a nice variety of house made drinks on the menu, and the service was quick, professional, and of great quality. The owner was also very friendly and invested in providing great service to his customers. There are also two very high end (Black Wolf) 7ft pool tables. They are not coin operated and are in brand new condition. I cant wait to come back with friends and family. 10/10

Finally, a classy place to spend the evening! Whether you re looking to relax and play pool, watch the game, or dance the night away, this is the place to go! Also, The drink ingredients are made fresh in house so you won t be getting a drink full of gross syrup! This dance hall is clean and the service is unmatched! This place is a 10 out of 10 for me! Dietary restrictions: The hand crafted drinks are made with fresh ingredients in house so they aren t full of ingredients you can t even pronounce. Parking: The parking is unlimited. There are so many spaces available all around the building plus there is an entire parking lot across the street. Kid-friendliness: On Tuesdays they are open to kids under 21 so they do not serve any alcoholic beverages but they do have water and sodas. This would be a fun time got go out as a family and improve your dance skills.

Amazing experience. Went for a fun date night and was greeted by friendly bartenders, great music, and well priced drinks. Very clean and maintained bathrooms, sitting areas, and bar tops. Loved the chance to play pool as well. It is a welcoming environment for dancers of all levels and the crowd it attracts is far superior to any other dance hall I ve been to. The owners are there every night and are more than happy to strike up a conversation with you. Down to earth people. Kid-friendliness: 21+
