Stopped and grabbed a coconut cream pie from the vending machines out front. What a great idea. The crust was light and flaky and the coconut cream was spot on. Will definitely be checking them out again. $6 slice or $10 for a small pie

I ve been a fan of this place for some time. Good lunches, great service and outstanding pies. My only problem there (usually) is trying decide which pie to get. I may have solved that this week. They had a German chocolate pie. I m a chocolate fanatic, so I had to try it. I may have a new favorite flavor one of the best pieces of pie I ve ever had. It will now be my go-to if it s on the menu.

The cutest little pie + coffee shop! The head baker is friendly and proud, gives great recommendations with detail descriptions. The pie vending machines outside are adorable and convenient. I had the pecan pie and it was so incredibly fresh. Highly recommend swinging in, and try the sopapilla!

We love Life of Pie!!! Everything weve gotten here has been incredible & Im thankful they offer a variety of gluten-free options. The banana pudding pie is THE BEST! I personally love their taco salad & salsa, but their pizza, quiche, & pot pies are equally amazing. Not only is their food delicious, but the service is stellar & kind! Customers for life here!! Dietary restrictions: Plenty of keto, sugar-free, & gluten-free options to choose from. Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves the kids menu, especially the pizza & chicken strips.

GENIUS Their Stuffed Jalapeno and Chili Relleno Quiche was out of this world savory and delicious The Eclair Pie blew my mind. From an earlier post... The Jalapeno Key Lime Pie is absolutely delicious with just enough hot to not be overwhelming. Also had the Chocolate Pecan and the Apple Pies. This family knows how to put deliciousness into every pie. HIGHLY Recommended!!! Vegetarian options: The Quiche has no crust and is keto friendly.

Life of Pie is one of my favorite places in Abilene! I love their lunch specials and their pies are the best. My personal favorite is the quiches and the keto pies! Also everyone who works there is so kind and the owners are some of the sweetest people ever. They always put a smile on my face and make my day better when i come grab a slice. So happy to see a pie shop in Abilene! I lived down the street from a place called Hoosier Mama in Chicago. They made the best pies in the city, in my opinion. I bought their cookbook and everything. When I moved to Abilene the 1st time, back in 2015, I was sad that there was no pie shop in the area. I am not a great baker, so I just went without pie for a while :) How happy was I to find that Abilene now has a pie shop! And not just a shop, but right outside the store, theres a vending machine that serves up slices of pie! I ordered a key lime slice and a peanut butter slice from the vending machine, and then I went inside to see what they had. I ordered a slice of chocolate and a slice of their chili relleno quiche. Wooooow! I cant rave enough about how great these slices are. The chocolate was perfect. Not too sweet, great chocolate flavor with a perfect crust. Same with the peanut butter. Perfect peanut butter flavor. I havent tried the key lime or quiche yet, but im confident that it will be just as amazing as the others! Aug 8 - tried the chicken salad for the first time and WOW. Though I dont love chunky celery, I did love the flavors in the salad itself. So, I ate around the celery as much as I could. Wish I wouldve checked to make sure the crackers were in the bag before I left because I had to eat it plain, but I survived, HA! I ordered an iced mocha latte, but I dont think I got the mocha flavor added. It was still great through! ALWAYS GREAT QUALITY!

Update: I do not recommend the deep dish pizza as it is a regular pie depth of crust and then an inch of cheese Everything else weve had is delicious. The best old fashioned chocolate pie Ive ever had. Banana Pudding pie is a family favorite. My husband bought a $24-$26 apple pie from here which was my second time trying it. Both times were meh. With that amount I was expecting a really good flaky crust that could hold the filling but instead it turned into liquid dough which is very unpleasant. To put it bluntly, it had a soggy bottom. The crumb topping tasted old and refrigerated, not fresh. If executed correctly this would have been good. For a pie shop that specializes in pies and sells them at $25 a pop these mistakes are unacceptable to me. Market street and H E B apple pies seem to have better quality than this pie shop s. He also bought me a brownie with icing and chocolate sauce which I also didn t like because it was not balanced in flavor. It tasted just like a block of sugar.

Not sure how this place got so many raving reviews. will ssy the staff is very nice. Thats why I gave 3 stars. The sugar free coconut pie was the worst Ive had...took two bites and left the rest...Frito pie was a few beans with cheese and Fritos throw in served cold....terrible...left it mostly uneaten....iced tea was good....we spent over $30 dollars and left hungry, went to another place to get full....cant recommend.

Really amazing pies. The quiche was excellent too and Im not a quiche person. The only thing that I had a small complaint about was the chicken pot pie. It was really, really, really, salty. So salty that my family and I couldnt eat it. That was a shame because the pie itself was delicious. Tender chunk chicken, veggies, very savory otherwise. I am chalking it up to an aberration and I am more than willing to give it another try. Tasty wares sold here! Update: My wife and I picked up another chicken pot pie last night and this one was fantastic! The ingredients were mixed evenly this time and it was spot on. We are glad we gave it another try.

My pizza was amazing, so much cheese & lots of toppings. My buttermilk pie was the best Ive had on a very long time. We ordered a keto coconut cream pie for my wifes birthday. It was quite an expensive little treat, and was not worth the money spent at all. The only coconut you can taste is in the shavings sprinkled on top and appears to be straight whipped cream for the filling. The place came highly recommended and we may try again in the future.. But, as of now, we certainly will not pay $24 for a whipped cream pie.

Not too impressed. They don t have a large selection ready to go at a moment s notice. Only for those who do not mind taking what they have or have the time to order a day ahead for something they want. In my opinion, not worth the time or inconvenience, and it makes it difficult to be spontaneous. I hardly ever go to the southwest side, maybe once every two or three months because it s just an awful experience every time. I m not going to make the 25 min drive (50 min. round-trip) again the next day. Also, none of the employees were wearing face masks, which for me is a deal-breaker anyway.

We came to town to visit some friends and ended up at the most fantastic and unique restaurant! You always find cupcake shops and bundt cake shops but you never find a pie shop. We had the sugar free coconut cream pie and the Apple pie Sunday and they were to die for. The owners are so personable and friendly. The store is decorated so Perfectly you would swear you were in their Home smelling them cook these delicious pies in their own little kitchen. Now I just need to get them to come open up a shop in Fort Worth and I will be so happy.

Yall!! I went in pregnant craving regular chocolate pie, you know the kind your grandma or husbands grandma makes during the holidays. Ive been to Life of Pie several times since I discovered their shop, and I just cant stop going! All the pies Ive tried are something I generally wouldnt try anywhere else. Today I got lunch and dessert. Their spinach chicken quiche is absolutely the BEST quiche I have EVER tasted (if I wasnt on the other side of town when I finally tasted it, Id go back to get enough to last me the weekend!!), and the lemon chess was absolutely divine. Everybody is super friendly there, as well, and the shop feels like home--wherever that may be for you. Life of Pie is EXACTLY what Abilene needed.

Havent even been through their door yet but my sister shared a pie with me at her house (think it was eclair) Ranks up there with the best pie Ive had in my life! Just the right amount of sweet but not too much. Best crust ever. Highly recommend to anyone for any occasion. Will be visiting soon!

We have tried a few of their pie flavors but my favorite is the Pirate, which is key-lime with jalapeno. Im not sure who dreamed up that combination, but its pretty amazing. Im hoping they have some other selections from their sweet-heat line available next time Im there.

My husband purchased a coconut cream pie for my birthday and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. Well worth all of the calories!! I would recommend this shop to anyone wanting a pie!

Went in here on a whim after being in Abilene for only a week. The owner and her husband were super, super, SUPER, friendly, and the slices of pie we got were very reasonably priced and delicious. Never written a review before, but after my visit, had to make sure put a mention about this excellent hole in the wall . Pay this place a visit!

We went here on a whim and it was VERY worth it. The gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip pie was amazing! Sometimes the texture (or taste) of gluten free items can be a little meh but this was perfection. We also got a slice of coconut creme and a slice of sopapila. They have a pretty good daily variety and employees were super nice and friendly.

The pies are pretty delicious! I had their Pecan pie and I was blown away.. Sorry Grandma. I went one day and wasnt a fan of anything on the menu so they suggested the Ghost pepper Blueberry Pie. They said it was a nice kick and not extremely hot. Boy were they WRONG! Ive never had anything so hot before but it was sooo good! Sadly I couldnt eat it though. The only thing I wish they would do is use a pie cutter when they cut their pies because they are really tiny Other than that this place is pretty good and love to try different pies here!

Super yummy!! Pie-choices change (what seems to be) daily. So, be sure to check out their Facebook page for the selection of the day. You can buy a whole pie or slice, and also place an order for the pie of your choice with 24 hours notice. There is seating in the shop or you can take your treat to go.
