This location is too small to plan a community recovery committee meeting. I recommend North Side Oscars Restaurant for gatherings over 20 people. My husband picked up a dozen and a half Tamales this morning. Ive been wanting some and havent found anyone selling them for a while now. So I was super excited to have them. WORST Tamales Ive ever tasted! If you like salty food, these are #1. They are so salty, the salt must have fallen in while being measured. (Hopefully it was an accident. ) Now if you can swallow the extremely salty tamale, you wouldnt even know youre eating a tamale unless youre looking at it. They had such an overpowered taste of smokey burnt food. I could even taste the mask. Even as I sit here writing this review, the smell of something burned is lingering in the air. So dry, salty and burnt. Definitely overpriced, especially for terrible food. Oh, and the hot sauce was just as bad. Disappointed customer.

Got a craving for pan dulce. Decided to visit Alfonso Hernandez bakery to see if the baked goods was as good as the reviews. I was very disappointed with the appearance and with the sweet bread. The bread didn t have taste. From the time I went to go and pick up the bread to the time I got back home and had my sweet bread with coffee. It was very hard. Have not tried the food nonetheless, the baked goods are less than to be desired. Definitely do not recommend!

Great small restaurant, good food. Menudo was being chugged by people inside, I didnt think because so many places no longer offer it so kicking myself. This isnt fancy, boogie good, this is what mom and dad made us, the carne guidada, barbacoa. Eat and enjoy no pretense. Just bring done patience and an appetite.

My order was missing burritos. When I went back in to get my order, the cashier was nice and tried to help while the food prep person was yelling profanities about how I was probably stealing. Usually very good place we come to eat at, but unfortunately, today, we were quite disappointed. Carne guisada plate, Carne guisada no good has no flavor, beans were not good, rice was the only decent thing. Tortillas de harina were cold, and a bit raw. I had flauta plate, chicken no flavor and Usually they are crispy but this time they were soggy anf a bit hard to chew edges. Chicharron burrito was okay. And the hot sauce had no salt and was just not good..

One of Abilene s Best when it comes to Authentic Mexican food! We came in on nye to get the best tamales. Prices and Quality reasonable. The owner is super friendly with a contagious smile. On the back wall, near the bathrooms, Alfonso Hernandez showed us his unique wall gallery. Some are memories of himself and family. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!! I will be posting pictures of receipts but they are OVERCHARGING on absolutely everything you buy by charging you tax on what you buy then adding sales tax on items...so if you buy a $3 burrito or plate or whatever you buy they charge you $3.22 then tax that rather than tax on just the $3. It is theft and they have been doing it for months and ive kept my receipts and records of it and i will be going through the proper channels to have this fixed. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!!

I ve had EVERY breakfast burrito in town for the past 15 years. This place makes THE BEST. If someone else says otherwise, they are either being paid to do so, or have no taste buds. Stay away from this place. Ordered my food While sitting there waiting I watched 2 cockroaches walking around the floor. Waited for about 10 minutes when another customer (not even an employee) let me know that there was a bag on the counter with 2 burritos and maybe that s mine. I walk up there and it was. I m not exaggerating even a little bit: Came here for the first time to dine-in for breakfast on a Sunday. I ordered limonada, and it was NASTY. Like not even sort of a hint of lemon flavor, barely any sugar, it tasted like it should ve been mop water. Then we waited between 30-45 minutes for our food, and only got it when I asked the front desk our ticket had been lost. I got huevos rancheros and the bacon was hardly cooked, the potatoes were flavorless, and it didn t come with salsa or chile which it s supposed to come with, and I d asked for it when I ordered. I asked the girl that brought the food for some chile and she acted like I was monumentally inconveniencing her, then slammed it on the table without a word. Not to mention the building was filled with flies. It was an all-around awful experience, and I m not coming back.

After Googleing Mexican Bakery in Abilene Texas, I ended up here. The place has some potential, the staff did not seam happy to be there working. Actually walked in and the kitchen staff was arguing. The place needs to be CLEANED!!! ITS KINDA NASTY!!! We order breakfast, everything was great except the potatoes, which seamed like left over French fries from a fast food place. Dont get me wrong, I have many of times saved good tasting left over fries and made them with eggs the next day, these where Greasy, stele and old. Go at your own risk

I go here 2-3 times a week and today, June 4, the ladies working the front were so rude. On my receipt the cashier name is Victoria. I always get the same things each time, today I was charged extra for cheese for my bean and cheese Burrito. I told her about that saying it should be 4.50 instead of 5 and she said that cheese is extra. I replied then why does it say something different on your TV. She said that the TV is wrong. If you a promoting the wrong prices, then you should at least fix it or fixed what I already paid. I also order potato egg and bacon, she did not put it right in her system and give me just egg and bacon. She gave me an attitude and said I didnt hear you. She turned around and told the ladies cooking in the back to fix it and wave her hands with attitude. Whats sad is that the lady behind me was in agreement with me about this place and how the ladies in the from are treating customers. I never usually leave bad reviews but honestly, if you are going to act like that at one of my fav breakfast places, you should learn better customer service or work somewhere else. I will be going somewhere else for a bit.

Just now went and bought a couple of burritos from here and a lemonade easy ice. No napkins, were put in my bag. The woman I spoke to named Tammy said they dnt put them in the bag unless you ask for them. I just bought messy burritos, why would I have to ask?? But ok, and my lemonade was water with a hint of lemonade. She said she would let the owner know. I said Ill just call back, and she hung up. I called back to get her name.
